Old age is characterized by many problems including physical health, psychological health, and overall well-being problems. Most studies indicate a decline in subjective well-being in the geriatric population. Although many studies have investigated the relationship between physical activity and subjective well-being in old age, few have been conducted among the aging Indonesian population. This study was aimed at investigating the association between physical activity and measures of subjective well-being among older adults in Indonesia using data from a community survey. After restricting the sample to individuals aged 60 and older, a sample of 1,813 old individuals was yielded. Two models of multiple regression were estimated. In the first model, subjective well-being was predicted by physical activity. The second model added to the first model a wide range of confounding variables in order to check whether the relationship between physical activity and subjective well-being was still significant after adjusting for covariates.  The main findings revealed that staying physically active was associated with high levels of life satisfaction but not with happiness beyond the contribution of gender, education, marital status, religiosity, personality, and self-rated health. Physical activity yields well-being benefits in old age and these findings are relevant for policymakers, health professionals in the geriatric field, and public health professionals.

This research aimed to explore the effects of physical activity and training routine on mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic and the proclaimed emergency state and curfew. To measure the mental health components of psychological distress and subjective well-being, two studies were conducted on different samples: Study 1 during the beginning of curfew in Serbia (N = 678) and Study 2 during the ending phase (N = 398). The results of Study 1 showed that elite athletes as well as those with high level of physical activity experienced the lowest distress. Furthermore, effects of the changes in the training routine on distress among physically active individuals depended on the level of sports participation with elite athletes who reduced trainings showing lower anxiety compared to recreational athletes who reduced trainings as well or kept the same training routine. Thus, we could conclude that in the early stage of the pandemic, elite athletes showed better mental health and adaptability to the crisis situation. Results of Study 2 showed that although all the participants had decreased well-being during the curfew, compared to the period before the pandemic and the curfew, there were no differences in well-being between elite and recreational athletes, who had higher well-being compared to non-athletes. However, this effect held both before and during the curfew showing that physically active individuals did not additionally benefit from this decrease compared to the non-active. Furthermore, athletes who became physically inactive showed lower well-being compared to those who kept the same training routine. Thus, in the later stage of the pandemic, prolonged physical inactivity had negative effects on mental health.

Introduction. Psychology of money is an important area of economic psychology. Therefore, the analysis of the main trends in the development of psychology of money is an urgent and significant scientific and applied problem. Aim. Based on the analysis of relevant foreign and Ukrainian literature, to determine the main trends in the development of psychology of money in foreign and Ukrainian psychology. Results. Having analyzed the relevant foreign and Ukrainian scientific literature, the authors have outlined the following areas of research in the field of psychology of money: 1) analysis of the phenomenon of money as a certain idea, 2) analysis of monetary behavior as a type of economic behavior, 3) development of assessment tools to study the psychology of money, 4) building monetary typologies, 5) analysis of monetary pathologies and the relationship between money and mental health, 6) study of psychological phenomena related to the concept of money (generosity, greed, wealth, poverty, etc.), 7) finding out the factors behind attitudes towards money. Conclusions. The Ukrainian psychology of money, in the authors' opinion, can focus on studying hryvnia as perceived by Ukrainians, adapting foreign and developing new Ukrainian assessment tools, analyzing macro factors behind attitudes towards money, on the effects of organizational factors on attitudes towards money, as well as on Ukrainians' monetary behavior in the context of their mental and psychological health and their subjective well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the pandemic, people may experience various mental health problems. Psychological strengths may help them to cope with emerging challenges and foster mental health and well-being. This study examined the associations between resilience, dispositional hope, preventive behaviours, subjective well-being, and psychological health among adults during early stage of COVID-19. A total of 220 participants from general public participated this study completing a battery of measures (134 men [M age = 42.36 years, SD = 8.99, range = 18 to 60] and 86 women [M age = 36.73 years, SD = 7.44, range = 18 to 51]). This cross-section study indicated that resilience mediated the relationship between hope and psychological health and subjective well-being. Results also showed that hope, and resilience had significant direct effects on psychological health, and subjective well-being while preventive behaviours did not manifest a significant effect on these two variables except on resilience. Preventive behaviours mediated the relationship between hope and resilience. The results suggest that we should more pay attention to hope and resilience for the development and improvement of well-being and psychological health during the times of crisis.

Studies about the influence of physical activity on life satisfaction, functional ability and subjective well-being in physically active older adults without cognitive impairment are very few for the moment. Therefore, the aim of this research was to evaluate the life satisfaction, functional skills and subjective well-being of physically active older adults based on the level of activity practiced. The IPAQ (International Physical Activity), CUBRECAVI and LSIA (Life Satisfaction Index) scales were tested for a sample of 397 Spanish older adults between 61 and 93 years of age (M = 69.65; SD = 4.71). The results showed that those who performed high physical activity obtained higher scores in functional skills (p < 0.01) and in the activities of daily living (p < 0.01). In addition, subjective well-being (p < 0.01) and the functional autonomy of older adults (p < 0.01) were related to the level of physical activity that they practiced. In conclusion, it could be said that the older adults with a high level of physical activity have more functional skills and less difficulties performing the activities of daily living, and that they value their autonomy and health better.

Psychological health directly affects life satisfaction especially to those women who face social and family pressure about their infertility. A wide range of research studies comparing fertile and infertile women documented that there is negative impact of infertility on subjective well-being and global life satisfaction (Abbey et al., 1991, 1992; Callan, 1987; Callan& Hennessey, 1988). The present study was aimed to investigate the impact of psychological health on life satisfaction among fertile and infertile females. Through the convenience sampling technique, a sample of 310 (N=310) fertile and infertile women was selected whose age ranged between 25 to 50 years. Demographic variables included age, employment status, level of education, duration of marital life, type of marriage and family system for both fertile and infertile females. To be included in sample, Women must have been diagnosed with infertility (primary or secondary), they must not have adopted any child, and marriage duration must be at least 2 years and must not have past history of psychiatric illness. General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28) was used for current psychological health and Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) was used to measure life satisfaction. Data was analyzed by using SPSS version 21. Descriptive statistics, Regression analysis, ANOVA and t-test were used to analyze the data. Results have shown that psychological health has impact on life satisfaction in both fertile and infertile groups of women. Furthermore, results show that level of life satisfaction and psychological health is more prevalent in educated and employed women as compared to uneducated and unemployed women. To conclude, this study will be helpful in resolving psychological problems of the infertile females. Education can increase awareness about infertility and infertile females can meet the challenges of the society and can stand with better health and emotions.

The purpose of the current study was to meta-analytically investigate the psychological impacts of physical activity for the elderly population in Korea. The findings from 21 studies, using the comprehensive meta-analysis (CMA) program, indicated that participation in physical activity had a low, but meaningful, impact on the subjective well-being of elderly individuals. Of three exercise dose components, the duration of physical activity was the most influential, followed by the frequency and intensity of the physical activity. Of six subjective well-being measures, self-efficacy was most strongly associated with physical activity, followed by life satisfaction, leisure satisfaction, exercise satisfaction, successful aging, and happiness. Results of moderator analyses indicated that the influence of physical activity became more pronounced as the proportion of males increased. Meanwhile, of the three exercise dose components, only the relationship between the duration and subjective well-being was influenced as the percentage of participants without a spouse or partner increased. Overall, regular participation in physical activity is an effective way of promoting subjective well-being among older adults in Korea. Relevant guidelines regarding physical activity prescription and behavioral management strategies are discussed.

 Los factores que influyen en los niveles de actividad física son muchos, sin embargo, es necesario identificar aquellos que pueden ser modificables, entre ellos están las variables sociocognitivas. El objetivo general de esta investigación fue analizar la relación entre el autoconcepto físico, motivación, autoeficacia y percepción de barreras para la actividad física, y el bienestar subjetivo con el nivel de actividad física en estudiantes universitarios. Se utilizó un diseño predictivo transversal y participaron 362 estudiantes de Educación Superior de una región del centro sur de Chile. Para responder a los objetivos se utilizó un Modelo de Ecuaciones Estructurales, específicamente el modelo Probit adecuado para regresiones ordinales. Los resultados mostraron que: (1) la autoeficacia para la práctica de actividad física, la falta de tiempo, falta de voluntad, falta de habilidad, el autoconcepto de condición física y el autoconcepto físico de fuerza predijeron significativamente el nivel de práctica de actividad física; (2) el nivel de actividad física media la relación entre las variables sociocognitivas y la afectividad positiva. Es posible concluir que las variables sociocognitivas influyen en los niveles de actividad física de estudiantes universitarios y esta última influye en su bienestar. Abstract: The factors that influence physical activity levels are many, however, it is necessary to identify those that can be modified, among them are the sociocognitive variables. The general objective of this research was to analyze the relationship between physical self-concept, motivation, self-efficacy and perception of barriers to physical activity, and subjective well-being with the level of physical activity in university students. A cross-sectional predictive design was used and 362 students of Higher Education from a region of southern central Chile participated. To respond to the objectives, a Model of Structural Equations was used, specifically the Probit model suitable for ordinal regressions. The results showed that: (1) self-efficacy for the practice of physical activity, lack of time, lack of will, lack of ability, self-concept of physical condition and physical self-concept of strength significantly predicted the level of practice of physical activity; (2) the level of physical activity mediates the relationship between sociocognitive variables and positive affectivity. It is possible to conclude that sociocognitive variables influence the levels of physical activity of university students and the latter influences their well-being.
