This research aims to know the attitudes of youth towards the practice of volunteering in the governorate of Aden in respect of some variables. The researcher used the descriptive analytical approach as the appropriate approach that is compatible with the nature of the phenomenon studied and the study sample consisted of (150) young men and women working in the field of volunteer work in the governorate of Aden including (86) males and (64) females. The questionnaire was considered the main tool for collecting the required data, and the results of the research showed that the more the goals of volunteer work were clear, the more youth’s turnout to join the volunteer work increase with an average arithmetic and the response for the sample answers was (3.98), the positive results showed in the directions of the members of the research sample toward the volunteer work in a way that created in them a motivation to join in the different fields with an arithmetic average of (3.68). This represents a high degree of appreciation according to the Likert quintet. The educational field ranked first, followed by security and defense, then the environmental field, as well as the health and social field. The results also indicated that the most important difficulties and obstacles facing youth volunteering are represented in the absence of family upbringing that promotes volunteer behavior and economic and social conditions. The results showed that the most important reasons for refraining from volunteer work are the lack of motivation and encouragement, the multiplicity of bureaucratic complications, the spread of a culture of defect, the absence of fixed programs to care for and organize volunteers, the lack of sufficient time and the spread of corruption, the failure to understand the nature of voluntary work and the community's need for it and finally the fear of failure. And this result came with a general average (3.34) representing the degree of estimation of impartiality, as the results of the research showed that the most important effects of volunteering is represented in the development of volunteerism, a feeling of self and the imposition of youth to express themselves and unleash their energy and creativity and provides them with the necessary skills and experience in the ability to plan and manage solutions to the problems facing them, and the results indicated that there are statistically significant differences between female males about the goals of volunteer work and the reasons for youth's reluctance to volunteer work at the level of significance (α≤0.05) and the absence of significant statistic differences between youth attitudes towards areas of volunteer work that they love and the effects of volunteer work on them and on society at the level (α≤0.05).

The distinction between agent-relative and agent-neutral reasons, at least in its explicit form, is a fairly recent contribution to normative ethics. That the distinction is both well-defined and significant is often taken for granted in contemporary normative ethics. For example, it is supposed to help us characterize many aspects of common-sense morality, such as personal duties, and deontological restrictions or constraints. The main question of this chapter is whether there is a well-defined distinction between agent-relative and agent-neutral reasons that has this high level of significance. Is the distinction really “an extremely important one,” as Nagel said, or perhaps even one of “the greatest contributions of recent ethics,” as Tom Hurka suggests? A variety of accounts of this distinction is discussed and it is argued that none live up to this hype, at least if the distinction is supposed not to beg other important questions in normative ethics.

Some people view teaching as a mission, many others consider it as just another job. Teaching profession is publicly perceived as socially valuable and important, a job essential for the development of fundamental societal and human values. However, in 2019 Croatia, one still cannot speak of teaching as a profession. The public perceives teacher's expected high level of enthusiasm as a basic quality of an educator, rather than expecting a high degree of professionalism. Consequently, unlike education policies in some European countries, the historical development of the upgrade to the teaching profession in Croatia is somewhat lagging behind. The text analyses the status of teachers and the acceptance of the educational profession in Croatia as well as the working conditions in the Croatian education. We present research results of attitudes towards the teaching profession and the social status of teachers expressed by students enrolled in the Faculty of Teacher Education, University of Rijeka. The main objective of the research was to determine the attitudes of students on the current status of teachers in Croatia, concurrently examining the level of their readiness to actively engage in achieving better social and material status of teachers. The research was conducted in 2018 using the survey method. The results confirmed that the respondents possess developed awareness of the deficiencies in the Croatian school system and the underpaid teaching staff. Aware of the basic weaknesses in the education policy, respondents expressed their willingness to engage in solving these problems. The results also clearly pointed to the need for an essential educational reform to improve the status of the teaching staff.

The Tremp Basin, placed in the mountainous Catalonian region of the Pallars Jussá, is one of the areas where stabled pig cattle raising has been more increased in the last three decades. Negative environmental impacts, derived from this cattle raising production system are greatly substantial, specially the ones related to purine wastes which have caused a high degree of nitrification of the waters. Detailed analyses show that the degree of nitrification of the waters in the Tremp Basin has reached a very high level, with all that this implies for human health. Attending to the requirements of a sustainable development, which is the only way of granting a future for the mountainous regions, this paper hints at some solutions to lessen the serious problems generated by the intensification ofpig cattle raising.

The topics selected for education for the 81/82 PREP year are Genetics, Neonatology, and Cardiology. Each area presents a special challenge. Each is a field in which enormous advances in knowledge have occurred in the past decade. Each represents the use of very high level technology—knowledge and technology most of us as general pediatricians do not have. Most of the technology is hospital based; expert teams working daily with the complex issues are best able to provide accuracy and efficiency. The main question I have faced as I planned this year of PEDIATRICS IN REVIEW has been what should the generalist know about G-N-C?

Flow metering of industrial fluids remains the concern of several researchers and exporting countries of gas and oil in the world. It is in this context that a vast numerical investigation is done in our laboratory of Industrial Fluids Measurements and Applications (FIMA). This article examines numerically a new design of the Etoile flow straightener which is described by the standard ISO 5167. This new design consists in removing the central part of the Etoile which, according to researchers, leads to a very high level of turbulence. Our intervention relates to the development and the establishment of the flow parameters downstream the Etoile with and without central part. The flow is produced by air in a 100mm pipe diameter and 40D of length with a Reynolds number of 2.5×105. The disturbance is a valve maintained 100%, 50% and 30% open. The flow parameters examined are velocity profile, turbulence intensity profile, and the fluid gyration angle. The code CFD Fluent is used for this simulation. The results obtained are compared according to directives of the standard ISO 5167. The results obtained show that for the valve settings 30% and 50% open, upstream the Etoile, we have a high turbulence level and a velocity profile with recirculation zones more significant for the valve 30% open than for the valve 50% open. It is also noted that the valve develop very high fluid gyration angle apart from the standard values. The flow behavior downstream the central part of Etoile described by the ISO 5167 is well simulated with the valve open at 100%, with a deficit of flow and a very high degree of turbulence. At this stage for the two designs, the noticed results seem so identical beyond a certain stations downstream the Etoile.

Negotiations between industry, environmental partnership and government were intense, demanding, and created a high degree of confidence, candour and openness among participants. Over a three-week period, a very high level of trust was developed as vested interests were left at the door. All parties were expected to, and did, operate in an honest and forthright fashion. At the end of the process, participants were able to deliver a document built on mutual gains. Each party could honestly say they had gained from the process and not merely acquiesced to a form of consensus. The "Ontario Forest Accord" is, by any measure, a tremendous step forward for industry, government and the environmental community.
