PT Mulcindo is a manufacturing and service industry company works in the production of processed iron. This company produces corrugated steel sheet, iron canal, ceiling hanging guard rail, and partition frame.  However, the demand for this company was fluctuating.  Due to this fluctuation, PT Mulcindo Steel Industry has some problems such as product shortages or on the other hand product overload (over stock). This company is trying to find better production activities planning to fulfill market demand by using the right production planning. The results of the aggregate planning method in planning hollow production with a size of 15 mm x 35 mm x 0.30 mm in PT Mulcindo Steel Industry using the heuristic method, labor control with total aggregate planning costs of Rp. 674,937,732.2 / year, controlling sub-contracts with total aggregate planning costs of Rp. 822.136,585,3 / year, mix with overtime with total aggregate planning costs of Rp. 208,791,410.5 / year, Use of spreadsheets using regular production with trial and error techniques with total aggregate planning costs of Rp. 408,543,000 / year, the aggregate planning method in production planning obtained the minimum cost of Rp. 208,791,410.5 / year that is by using the heuristic method with mixed method completion techniques with over time. Keywords : Forecasting, Time Series, Aggregate Planning.

Learning outcomes Industry analysis and market attractiveness: Understand how to analyse an industry, using the dairy sector in Uganda as an example and what makes a market attractive for incumbents or future entrants. Doing business in Africa: Understand the specific generic challenges of doing business in Africa, particularly in the agricultural and manufacturing sectors. Generalisability of frameworks: Realise that the same frameworks that are used to analyse large firms and mature markets can be applied to smaller firms in less developed markets. Case overview/synopsis The case is set in the early months of 2020, as Bernd Schanzenbächer, founder and managing partner of EBG Capital (a Swiss investment firm that manages a multimillion global portfolio of agricultural investments), and his team are deciding whether to invest in a dairy farm in Uganda. The opportunity looks quite interesting and the EBG Capital team believes there is a good fit between the farm owners’ needs, its management team’s objectives and EBG Capital’s strengths and interests. However, the dairy market in Uganda faces many challenges and, while the market-demand fundamentals appear promising, the team wonders if it is the right time to invest. The issue for EBG Capital is to understand what makes the Ugandan dairy industry so challenging and to determine how to fix or mitigate some of the industry’s most pressing problems – given that it will be the firm’s first investment in the country – as well as for deciding where it makes sense to play in the broad value chain (i.e. only in milk production or also in milk processing). One of the most important function of human resources is personnel selection process. This process should be done professionally, in a short time and with minimum cost. After personnel selection process, performance of the hired person is very important for the permanence and success of the company. From this point of view, the aim of this study is to select a personnel among the candidates efficiently, with minimum cost and within a short time in one of the leading companies of Turkey in automotive sector. In order to select the right personnel all criterias which has great impact on blue collar worker selection was decided and these criterias are weighted. From the candidate pool of automotive company, appropriate candidates were selected by using TOPSIS AND ELECTRE method which are multi-criteria decision making methods

This paper focuses on the exploration of particular education outcomes in the context of Saudi Arabia and how those aspects can be harmonized with the needs of the Saudi labor market demand. Different arguments related to the emergence of education and training opportunities for the workforce of Saudi Arabia are presented and critically analyzed against major findings derived from the literature. A relevant conclusion presented in the paper refers to the statement that Saudi Arabia is on the right path of expanding its talented employee base in an attempt to improve its education system by making it adequately competitive as compared to major education systems around the world. The research methodology utilized in the study is quantitative by nature implying the researcher's focus on obtaining as objective and unbiased findings from participants as possible. The data collection method used by the researcher is questionnaires as they are identified as a reliable tool to derive adequate information from participants. The research methodology paradigm implemented in the current study refers to positivism. The main conclusion presented in the paper is associated with the belief of participants that the Saudi education system is efficient and reliable enough to accommodate the education and labor market needs of the local population.

Transmission expansion planning has become a complicated procedure more than it was. The rapid growth of the transmission networks and the deregulation has introduced more objectives and uncertainties to the transmission network planners. As a result of that, new approach and criteria that can replace the old ones are needed for TEP problem. The main goal of this process is to locate the additional transmission lines that must be added to meet the forecasted load in the system adequately with minimum cost. There have been several methods applied for this purpose; mathematical optimization methods, heuristic and Meta heuristic methods. This paper reviews the use of Meta heuristic method by the means of differential evolution algorithm (DEA) to solve this multi objective optimization problem. In addition, some suggestions have been made by the author that can make the DEA more efficient and applicable in the real world networks.

This article applies Continuous Duopoly Model of HT (1990) to analyze the cost asymmetry of the upstream enterprises as well as the downstream price being subjected to market constraints two factors. After the study of two aspects on market demand deficiency and demand surplus during the mergers of large scale corporation in steel industry, authors conclude that upstream capacity constraints can play a key role in the mergers of large scale corporations in Steel Industry.

Renewable energy plays an important role in the national energy policy especially in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. For a photovoltaic (PV) system, one important consideration is the cost of the system. One needs to select the best PV array from a range of selection, that is, the one which is the most efficient and with a best price. This article illustrates a method to compute the size and cost of a required PV array, and then after to compute the required battery for the case of a photovoltaic building in Malaysia. The computation is simulated using Matlab integrated with suitable mathematical equations. The generated current and power of the PV array are calculated for daily solar irradiation in Malaysia. The computation enables the user to quickly compute the initial cost needed to be spent if a given PV system is to be installed. A typical building requiring 12 kWh daily energy with 6 kW peak demand load was shown to need at least 114 solar modules at a cost of about RM53k. It is noted that the main cost of the whole PV system is mainly contributed by the cost of the chosen PV array. Hence, the right choice of a PV module is vital in achieving the minimum cost.

In his address to the April meeting, the archbishop raised questions about the high business rates placed on the steel industry in the UK and the crisis faced by Welsh steelworkers, the elections for members of the Welsh Assembly and the forthcoming referendum on Europe. He reminded the Governing Body that the right to vote was won at a price and that, as Christians, we had a moral duty to exercise that right. The archbishop, considering the recent death of his wife, Hilary, also spoke of bereavement and dying in general. Palliative care and the hospice movement had come a long way in fifty years; if he had not already been persuaded by the arguments against assisted dying, watching the care and the gentleness of hospice nurses, for whom nothing was too much trouble, would have convinced him.
