A steel underground pipeline with a diameter of 2.4 m and a total length of 3,617 m (plate thickness of 26 mm) has been constructed in a city in central Hubei, and the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) project has been lifted from the upstream channel to supplement water to the downstream lake inside the city. Through preliminary geological survey data, site topographic and geomorphic survey, urban construction, as well as the requirements of the construction party, the preliminary arrangement of working wells and receiving wells as well as the selection and customization of pipe jacking machines have been proposed. Frequency conversion motor and remote monitoring technology are adopted for geotechnical change and long-distance pipe jacking. Through detailed survey, the rock and soil change section as well as gradual change conditions have been determined, the accuracy of construction mechanics calculation and construction operation control have improved, the basis and analysis basis are provided, and some experiences in construction operation are summarized.

This interdisciplinary volume presents nineteen chapters by Roman historians and archaeologists, discussing trade in the Roman Empire in the period c.100 BC to AD 350, and in particular the role of the Roman state, in shaping the institutional framework for trade within and outside the Empire, in taxing that trade, and in intervening in the markets to ensure the supply of particular commodities, especially for the city of Rome and for the army. The chapters in this volume address facets of the subject on the basis of widely different sources of evidence—historical, papyrological, and archaeological—and are grouped in three sections: institutional factors (taxation, legal structures, market regulation, financial institutions); evidence for long-distance trade within the Empire, in wood, stone, glass, and pottery; and trade beyond the frontiers, with the East (as far as China), India, Arabia, and the Red Sea, and the Sahara. Rome’s external trade with realms to the east emerges as being of particular significance to the fisc. But in the eastern part of the Empire at least, the state appears, in collaboration with the elite holders of wealth, to have adapted the mechanisms of taxation, both direct and indirect, to support its need for revenue. On the other hand, the price of that collaboration, which was in effect a fiscal partnership, in slightly different forms in East and West, in the longer term fundamentally changed the political character of the Empire.

Fasilitas pelayanan publik merupakan salah satu fungsi bangunan gedung yang menjadi tujuan masyarakat dalam berbagai urusan administrasi maupun pemerintahan di sebuah kota maupun daerah. Proses administrasi, dengan jenis dan hierarki yang beragam, yang dilakukan sering kali menuntut masyarakat untuk melakukan perjalanan dari tempat tinggal menuju fasilitas pelayanan publik dan sebaliknya. Jenis layanan publik dan jarak jangkau perjalanan dapat menjadi salah satu faktor yang menentukan sebaran dan alokasi fasilitas pelayanan publik dalam sebuah bagian wilayah kota.Artikel ini ditulis dengan tujuan untuk menjelaskan pilihan (preferensi) masyarakat terhadap sebaran lokasi fasilitas pelayanan publik di Kota Pontianak, khususnya Kecamatan Pontianak Utara. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menjadikan jenis dan hierarki fasilitas pelayanan publik di Kota Pontianak, radius layanan, perilaku perjalanan, kepemilikan moda, dan lain-lain sebagai variabel penelitian. Selanjutnya artikel ini akan menggunakan pendekatan statistik deskriptif untuk memberikan gambaran pilihan masyarakat terhadap sebaran fasilitas pelayanan publik.Terdapat dua faktor utama yang mempengaruhi pilihan masyarakat di Kecamatan Pontianak Utara terhadap sebaran fasilitas pelayanan publik, yaitu jarak tempuh dan kualitas layanan. Salah satu karakter perjalanan masyarakat di wilayah ini  adalah perjalanan dengan  jarak tempuh dalam rentang yang jauh tidak menjadi kendala untuk dilalui jika fasilitas yang akan dikunjungi adalah fasilitas rekreasi, perniagaan, dan peribadatan.Kata-kata Kunci: fasilitas  pelayanan publik, jarak tempuh, statistik deskriptif, Kota Pontianak DISTRIBUTION OF PUBLIC SERVICE FACILITIES AND COMMUNITY OPTIONS IN NORTH PONTIANAK DISTRICT, PONTIANAK Public service facility is one of the places that the community goals in various purposes and administrative affairs in a city or region. The service processes, with diverse types and hierarchies, often require people to travel from residence to public service facilities and vice versa. The type of public service and travel distance can be one of the factors that determine the distribution and allocation of public service facilities in a part of the city area.This article aims to explain the society's choice to the distribution of public service facilities in Pontianak City, especially Pontianak Utara Subdistrict. This research is done by making the type and hierarchy of public service facility in Pontianak City, service radius, travel behavior, and so on as research variables. Furthermore, this article will use a descriptive statistical approach to provide an overview of society's choice of public service facilities.There are two main factors influencing the choice of people in Pontianak Utara Subdistrict to the distribution of public service facilities, ie mileage and service quality. Many college students travel in public transports or walk a long distance to reach college. This is problematic because public transports can be slow and not available everywhere as they have a specific time of arrival in their stops and they have to halt at multiple places in the city which can make it quite time consuming for passengers to reach their destinations. The goal of our project is to reduce this problem by providing a ride sharing application for institutes. This will be mutually beneficial for the students providing a ride and the students wanting to reach their destination quickly and cheaply as those who bring their own vehicles anyhow have to go to their homes without anyone sharing the ride with them. This will help them to earn money to at least cover their transportation or fuel cost and in-turn help provide a cheap ride to the ones in need. In this paper, we survey the work that deals with various paradigms of ride sharing and coincides with our idea for the application.

When the pipe jacking technology is applied in expansive formation, the soil around the pipe will easily absorb water from the slurry and expand to wrap up the pipe, producing an excessive pipe jacking force. A water-based slurry formula suitable for pipe jacking in expansive soil layer was proposed in this paper. Firstly, the key design points of pipe jacking slurry in expansive soil were put forward. Secondly, plant glue, potassium humate, Na-CMC, and graphite powder were chosen as treating agents to improve the slurry performance. The effect of addition levels of different treating agents on the funnel viscosity, filter loss, expansion ratio, friction coefficient and water dissociation rate of the slurry were tested. Thirdly, based on the results of single-factor tests, a water-based slurry formula suitable for pipe jacking in expansive soil was obtained. Finally, the slurry formula was applied in a practical pipe jacking project in expansive formation, and the jacking force was controlled well in the whole jacking process. The new water-based slurry is cheap and practical and has no pollution to environment. Furthermore, a simple and practical calculating method of the pipe jacking force was presented. The comparison of the calculated and measured pipe jacking force shows that the simple calculating method can estimate the jacking force well. Improving slurry performance to reduce jacking force in pipe jacking and predicting pipe jacking force accurately can help reducing the investment for counterforce wall and jacking system in pipe jacking engineering.

With the frequency converter for driving belt conveyor, the synchronous control of torque and speed for the belt-drive unit can be achieved and the start-up characteristics of belt conveyor can also be improved. This paper uses two methods for achieving synchronous drive of belt conveyor, one is synchronization through master-slave control of frequency converter itself, the second is adding external algorithm implemented by PLC systems. This article describes a variable-frequency adjustable-speed drive system used for long distance belt conveyor in mine main inclined shaft or ground. This frequency conversion device and system can be applied to the adjustable-speed drive process of constant torque load for conveyor.

The paper discusses guide survey system in long distance curved pipe jacking, presents a three-dimensional datum transformation model to determine the orientation of jacking pipe,The unitary principle and the new navigating method are introduced and the methods accuracy and variance are analyzed. The intelligence guide system is carried through easily associate with total station. The mathematical model, the operation principle, the hardware realization of extra long pipe jacking automatic guidance are introduced. Practice shows that all the reference points are used more efficiently in the new model than in the general model, and the surveying and navigating system gets enormous time-saving against conventional methods

In many world’s most populous cities, railways are an integral part of urban transport systems. Commuter and intraurban passenger railway traffic is often and widely considered in this context. On the other hand, the constant growth in passenger traffic of longdistance trains, traditionally gravitating towards railway stations and adjacent urban transport hubs, including metro stations through which arriving passengers pass towards their final destinations in the city, requires search for new solutions to improve comfort of the trip for passengers, and to remove the excess load from the urban transit system. Considering the experience and features of organization of long-distance passenger railway traffic in various countries, the authors based on previous research suggests certain solutions regarding Moscow railway hub. To organize comfortable environment for passengers of all categories of trains, it is advisable to develop a balanced technology of train traffic within the Moscow junction, excluding overloading of individual elements of the transport system (in particular, of rail stations in the city center). The objective of the article is to analyze global experience in organizing traffic of long-distance passenger trains within the boundaries of large agglomerations and to develop proposals to organize additional stopping points for long-distance trains in various districts of Moscow, which will help reduce the load on central transport and interchange hubs, improve quality of transportation services for passengers, and develop the districts of Moscow and Moscow region adjacent to the new TIHs.
