This article is dedicated to Alisher Navoi's "History of the Prophet and the Ruler", which depicts the faith, patience and high qualities of the prophets in art. The article analyzes and interprets universal values, issues of faith, issues of good and evil, as well as the narration of the history of the prophets -the continents of the byte, rubai andfour verses at the end of these stories. The work "History of the Prophet and the Ruler" shows that the flower of literature is a masterpiece of spirituality and art

The article analyzes methods of explication of the traditional and widely used stable biblical expression «forbidden fruit». The study is based on a diachronic section – from the interpretation of the biblical text to the communicative intention of dialogue participants in the media space illustrating nuclear and peripheral meanings. The analysis includes biblical texts that realize the archetypal meaning of the biblical expression «forbidden fruit» in which it is called the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The secularized interest in the kind of tree, on which forbidden fruits grew, is motivated by a realistic presentation of a sad history of the first people’s fall in the Book of Genesis. Scientific hypotheses have their origins since the Middle Ages, when artists recreated the author’s story of eating the forbidden fruit. For religion, the variety of the fruit is not of fundamental importance, however, visualization in the works of art has become an incentive for the further use of the biblical expression with a new semantic segment. Modern media texts actively represent the transformation of the biblical expression«forbidden fruit» for different purposes: in advertising texts for pragmatic one, in informative, educational, ideological texts for cognitive one, in entertaining textsfor communicative one, lowering the spiritual and semantic value register of the modern language. Therefore, the process of desemantization and profanization of the biblical expression results in the destruction of national stereotypes in Russian people’s worldview.

This chapter analyzes Spinoza’s ethical theory in the context of his philosophical naturalism, his doctrine that the actual essence of each thing is its striving for self-preservation (conatus), and his psychology of the emotions as it concerns both “bondage to the passions” and the active emotions such as intellectual joy. It explains how Spinoza’s ethical precepts are expressed chiefly through demonstrated propositions about good and evil, virtue, the guidance of reason, and “the free man.” Particular attention is given to questions about (1) the meaning of ethical language, (2) the nature of the good, (3) the practicality of reason, (4) the role of virtuous character, (5) the requirements for freedom and moral responsibility (especially in light of his necessitarianism), and (6) the possibility and moral significance of altruism. The chapter concludes by briefly assessing the significance of Spinoza’s ethical theory and its place in the history of ethics.

This article will stretch the boundaries of the interdisciplinary lens to consider the history of and current potential for the arts to enhance, advance, and amplify individual, family, and community social change goals of the social work profession. To begin, consider the following questions: What would inspire artists and social workers to intentionally work together to reveal new strengths, energy, and capacity in the areas we care about? What do the arts have to teach the profession of social work and vice versa? How have the arts already played a role in the profession, and what has impaired social work’s ability to make greater use of the strengths associated with the arts? How have other professions (public health, psychology, education, and others) incorporated partnerships with the arts? This article concludes with a call to action to advance the potential of the arts in coordination with social work and related disciplines.

The concept of e-governance in the modern times refocuses on the fundamental role of government as the institution of transformation of society. To understand the intricacies of e- governance it will be pertinent to examine the concept from an ecological perspective. The system of governance in order to meet the challenges must equip itself with the mechanisms of managing the pressures generated from different subsystems. The interrelationship and interdependence of these subsystems explain the operational reality of bureaucratic systems in relation to societal transformation. In last few decades, the history of humankind has seen the enormous growth of technology and its utilization for creating a better global society, by disseminating the knowledge down to common person and transcending the geographical boundaries. The accessibility of knowledge is not confined to any nation. Thus, the whole world has to acquire a bigger vision of coexistence with divergent societal patterns in future, because it is the source of developing shared visions. The present analysis focuses on the normative aspects of e-connectivity, specifically, 1. It proposes a conceptual framework to understand the futuristic operational dynamics of ecology of e-governance; 2. It proposes how the interactions of various components of e-governance, can help in evolving a universal society with ethical axis to create a better world; 3. It suggests that the whole world eventually has to move in the direction of evolving a global society by inculcating universal values of coexistence with divergent ethos. Hence, the need to transform the society cannot be subdued; and 4. It focuses on striving a balance between technological and human aspects by bringing out philosophical core at the centre to evolve global society.

To determine whether the contractile work history of cardiac muscle influences its responsiveness to insulin, we examined the effect of insulin infusion on glycogen metabolism in the rat heart 1 wk after transplantation into a nonworking heterotopic infrarenal position. Nonworking heterografts had higher basal glycogen concentrations than did in situ working hearts of the same animals (29.9 +/- 2.7 vs. 23.3 +/- 0.8 mumol/g; P < 0.05), and a smaller fraction of their glycogen synthase enzyme activity was in the physiologically active glycogen synthase I form (8 +/- 2 vs. 22 +/- 3%; P < 0.02). During a 25-min infusion of insulin (1 U/min) and glucose (30 mg.kg-1.min-1), the fractional glycogen synthase I activity of heterografts remained lower than that of in situ hearts (29 +/- 5 vs. 56 +/- 7%; P < 0.02) and heterografts synthesized glycogen more slowly (0.126 +/- 0.07 vs. 0.352 +/- 0.06 mumol.g-1.min-1; P < 0.02). These effects could be duplicated by a 24-h fast, which similarly increased myocardial glycogen concentration (to 32.9 +/- 5.6 mumol/g). These observations suggest that the performance of repetitive contractile work is necessary to maintain the myocardium maximally responsive to insulin. Mechanical unloading increases myocardial glycogen concentration, thereby reducing the magnitude of insulin's stimulation of glycogen synthase and consequently the rate of incorporation of circulating glucose into glycogen.

Too often histories of the concentration camps tend to be ignorant of the wider political context of nazi repression and control. This article tries to overcome this problem. Combining legal, social and political history, it contributes to a more thorough understanding of the changing relationship between the camps as places of extra-legal terror and the judiciary, between nazi terror and the law. It argues that the conflict between the judiciary and the SS was not a conflict between ‘good’ and ‘evil’, as existing accounts claim. Rather, it was a power struggle for jurisdiction over the camps. Concentration camp authorities covered up the murders of prisoners as suicides to prevent judicial investigations. This article also looks at actual suicides in the pre-war camps, to highlight individual inmates’ reactions to life within the camps. The article concludes that the history of the concentration camps needs to be firmly integrated into the history of nazi terror and the Third Reich.

This chapter discusses Prime Suspect's treatment of social problems and socially marginalized individuals. First, it briefly addresses the history of social problems and social realism film and television, and then notes the departure from such formats in British television of the 1970s onward as well as the general avoidance of social issue programming in US television throughout the years. It then analyzes Prime Suspect's treatment of social issues, in particular, how moments within episodes offer insights into the experiences of socially marginalized persons. Although the series often disrupts the binary between good and evil and destabilizes the white male dominance of the genre, it does not offer comprehensive, modernist policy solutions to social problems.

The notion of “Cultural heritage” is quite modern compared to other humanistic fields developed in the last century. Conservation as a science has emerged and took shape during international conventions and treaties in many places in Europe and developed various frameworks to recognize the heritage and its value but based on “Eurocentric bias” criteria. The fact of sharing universal values and common practices during the age of globalization had a significant impact on conservation actions in contexts utterly different from western societies and don’t share the same historical or cultural dimensions. Therefore, this study traces the history of the evolution of conservation in the west from two perspectives; the historical one and the developing methodologies, and the philosophies behind the main theories in conservation. Cultural heritage is a reflection of the identity of the society and its past; thus, this study outlines the development of conservation practices in Egypt within the international approaches in a chronological order to investigate the social response and the impact of the political and cultural influence of the cultural consciousness of the society and the conservation actions in the Egyptian context. Furthermore, to investigate the contribution of international charters in developing national policies in Egypt.
