This research  is  purposed  to  develop  learning  instrument  of  chemical  analysis  for  eleventh  grade  of vocational high school student on the material of conducting water analysis and mineral through guided discovery learning model. This research is designed using Dick and Carey model whereas the experimental  design using One Group  Pretest-Posttest  Design.  This  finding  research  is learning  instrument  materials  which  developed  generally becomes acceptable or good. The analysis result of hand book and work book literacy are understandable and literate for student. The implementation of lesson plan is good but students activity for observing, discussing, and delivering opinion are dominant with 19%, 16%, and 13% respectively. Based on minimum completeness, guided discover y learning model also gave influence for students learning result which is on complete category. This research also described that N-gain comprehensions of concept average and critical thinking ability are on high category level. Students response to guided discovery learning model is good. Base on this research, it completely concluded that learning on the material of conducting water analysis and mineral using guided discovery model is able to encourage students concept comprehension and critical thinking ability.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran Kimia Analisis siswa SMK kelas XI pada pokok bahasan Melakukan Analisis Air dan Mineral (MAAM) melalui model pembelajaran guided discovery. Desain pengembangan pada penelitian ini menggunakan model Dick and Carey, sedangkan rancangan uji coba menggunakan One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Temuan penelitian ini yaitu perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan secara umum berkategori baik. Hasil analisis keterbacaan BAS dan LKS mudah dipahami dan terbaca oleh siswa. Keterlaksanaan  RPP berkategori  baik sedangkan aktivitas siswa yang dominan adalah melakukan pengamatan, berdiskusi,  dan berpendapat  masing-masing  adalah 19%, 16%, dan 13%. Berdasarkan tinjauan Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM), model pembelajaran guided discovery juga memberikan pengaruh pada hasil belajar siswa yang berada pada kategori tuntas. Hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa N-gain rata-rata pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis berada pada kategori tinggi. Respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran dengan model guided discovery dinilai baik.  Berdasarkan  hasil  tersebut,  disimpulkan  bahwa  pembelajaran  pada  pokok  bahasan  Melakukan  Analisis Air  dan Mineral (MAAM) melalui model guided discovery dapat melatihkan pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMK

Critical thinking is one of the high-level thinking stages that can be interpreted as a process of thinkingprecisely, directed, reasoned, and reflective in decision-making that can be trusted. This study was aimed todetermine the improvement of critical thinking skills toward Guided Discovery Learning model of grade VIIIstudents at MTs Al-Huda Pekanbaru on light material. The type of research used was experimental research.Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the data. This analysis gave the description about influence ofGuided Discovery Learning model toward student's critical thinking ability. The subjects of this study were58 students. The data was collected based on critical thinking skill's test result which consisted of 15 essayquestions for 5 indicators after Guided Discovery Learning model was applied on experiment class andconventional model on control class. Mean score of sudents' critical thinking ability on experiment class was78.45 which was in a high category and average score of students' critical thinking skill on control class was70.52 which was in low category. Based on the result of students' critical thinking skill, it can be concludedthat there was an improvement of critical thinking ability after guided discovery learning model was appliedby 11.24% compared to conventional learning model.

The background of this research is, there is no learning model that can optimally support critical thinking skills, so it takes an innovative learning model. In this case, the researchers used web helped to guide discovery learning model to improve the critical thinking skills of the student in class X SMAN 4 Praya in academic year 2019/2020. This study aimed to find an effect of web assisted guided discovery learning on trigonometry material to critical thinking ability of the student in class X SMAN 4 Praya in academic year 2019/2020. This study use a quantitative research approach to the type of experimental research. In this experiment the researchers used a quasi-experimental, and uses two classes as a research, the experimental class and control class. The population of this research is all the student in class X SMAN 4 Praya and and choose two class as a sample class that is X MIPA 5 as a experimental class and X MIPA 3 as control class. Student in experimental class used web assisted guided discovery learning model and in control class used guided discovery without web assisted. The result of the research showed that the average of critical thinking ability in the experimental class is better than control class which is in the experimental class is in the less effective category and control class in ineffective category.

<p><em>This type of research is classroom action research. The purpose of this study was to improve critical thinking skills in science by applying the Discovery Learning model. The results showed that the application of the Discovery Learning model can improve critical thinking skills in science. The percentage of critical thinking skills in the very good, good, adequate, and poor categories. In pre-cycle it was 41%, cycle I was 68%, increased in cycle II to 86%, and increased again in cycle III was 95%.</em><em></em></p>

Critical thinking ability is an essential ability that students need to compete in the 21 century. It is an ability to think carefully using reason and logic and being able to consider all the consequences of decisions taken to solve a problem. By having an ability to think critically, students are able to analyze and find solutions to any problems given by the teacher or problems they face in the real world. Students' critical thinking ability in Indonesia is still categorized as poor. Hence, teachers must find out the appropriate learning methods and models to train and improve students' critical thinking ability. This paper aims at identify the effectiveness of discovery-based learning model in improving students’ critical thinking ability. By then, teachers are expected to have an overview of how effective discovery-based learning is in improving students’ critical thinking ability.

Education is a significant factor to shape human beings as a whole. The ability to think for humans plays an important role to develop information. The issue of lack of ability to think critically in Sahida Lemah Abang Vocational High School needed to be addressed. One learning model that can be utilized to guide students to think critically is Problem Based Learning (PBL) using an e-module as the resource of learning material. The study aims to examine the implementation of Problem Based Learning model using e-module and its influence on students' critical thinking ability.  This study used a quasi-experiment with nonequivalent control group design as its research design. In using the research design, two observations have been conducted; one was before the experiment called Pre-Test (O1) and one after the experiment of this study called the post-test (O2). There are two samples in this study; one is the experimental group and the other is the control group. The study was done in Sahida Lemah Abang Vocational High School. The data was gathered by using tests and observation sheets of the learning process. The result in this study shows averagely that the implementation in each of the learning stages has gained 95.7% which is in the category of very good value. The most significant difference is from the fifth indicator "developing strategy and tactic", n gain of experimental class and control class is 5.83 and 0.23 respectively. As the result of the hypothesis test is Sig. 0.035 which means that there is a significant difference in students' ability to think critically between the students in the experimental class and the control class, the students in the experimental class think more critically than the students in the control class.

This research is aimed to know: (1) Whether the increasing student’s critical thinking ability through guided discovery learning methods assisted by geogebra higher than the students who were given guided discovery methods without geogebra, (2) How the interaction between learning and early math  ability of student mathematical learning result. This study was a quasi-experimental study. The population of this study was the entire class of six semester mathematics education which approximately 184 people. Randomly, two classes were selected from six classes.  The first experimental class was given a geogebra assisted discovery method and the second experimental class was given a guided discovery method without  geogebra . The instrument used was a description test. The data analysis has been done by analysis of two-way variance (ANOVA). The results showed (1) the increasing student’s critical thinking ability through guided discovery learning methods assisted by geogebra were better than the students who were given guided discovery learning methods without geogebra. (2) There was no Interaction between learning and early math ability of student mathematical learning results.

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas metode pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual dalam hal keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMP. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas VIII Sekolah Menengah Atas di Kecamatan Kontukowuna, Kabupaten Muna, Sulawesi Tenggara pada tahun 2016/2017. Pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui penyediaan empat item pertanyaan instrumen tes keterampilan berpikir kritis, di mana setiap pertanyaan mewakili indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis dan lembar observasi pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji t satu sampel. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa nilai uji t 2,719> (t_0,05,27) = 2,0518, yang dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing efektif dalam hal kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP. Hasil ini didukung oleh peningkatan rata-rata pretest 27,66 ke posttest 76,00 yang lebih tinggi dari kriteria penguasaan mengajar minimum (KKM) dari 70. Abstract This study aimed to test the effectiveness of guided discovery learning method using a contextual approach in terms of students' critical thinking skills of SMP. Type of research used was quasi experiment. Population in this research was all VIII grader students of Senior High School in sub-district Kontukowuna, Muna districts, Southeast Sulawesi in 2016/2017. Data collection was obtained through the provision of four items of question of critical thinking skills test instrumen, where each question represents an indicator of critical thinking ability and observation sheet of learning implementation. Research result was analyzed using one sample t test. The findings showed that t test value 2,719> (t_0.05,27) = 2.0518, which can be concluded that the guided discovery learning method was effective in terms of the critical thinking ability of junior high school students. This result was supported by the increase of average of pretest 27.66 to posttest 76.00 which was higher than the minimum teaching mastery criteria (KKM) of 70.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Teams-Achievement Divisions (STAD) dan Team-Assisted Individualization (TAI) dalam pendekatan penemuan terbimbing pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar ditinjau dari prestasi belajar, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan kepercayaan diri siswa, dan membandingkan keefektifan antara kedua model pembelajaran tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu. Populasi mencakup seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 11 Yogyakarta dan sampel diambil dua kelas secara acak dari 4 kelas yang ada. Analisis univariat dengan statistik uji one sample t-test dan uji paired sample t test pada taraf signifikansi 5% dilakukan untuk menguji keefektifaan model pembelajaran. Uji Multivariat Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) dilakukan untuk membandingkan keefektifaan kedua model pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan TAI dalam pendekatan penemuan terbimbing pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar masing-masing efektif ditinjau dari ketiga variabel terikat. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan prestasi belajar dan kemampuan berpikir kritis antara kelompok model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan TAI, namun tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan jika ditinjau dari kepercayaan diri siswa. Cooperative learning using a guided discovery approach viewed from the learning achievement, critical thinking ability, and self-confidenceAbstractThis study aimed to describe the effectiveness of the cooperative learning model of Student Teams-Achievement Divisions (STAD) and Team-Assisted Individualization (TAI) types using the guided discovery approach in learning polyhedra viewed from the learning achievement, critical thinking ability, and self-confidence of the students, and compare the effectiveness of both learning models. This study was quasi-experimental. The research population comprised four classes of eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 11 (Junior High School) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia and the sample of two classes was established randomly from the four classes. Univariate analysis with statistical one-sample t-test and paired sample t-test at a significance level of 5% was carried out to test the effectiveness of the learning model. The Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) test was performed to compare the effectiveness of the two learning models. The results showed that the cooperative learning model of STAD and TAI types using the guided discovery approach on the material of polyhedra respectively effective in terms of the three dependent variables. The results also showed that there were significant differences in learning achievement and critical thinking skills between the cooperative learning model of STAD and TAI types groups, but there were no significant differences in terms of students’ self-confidence.
