This ethnomathematical research raises the topic of discussion about a "Nasi Face-to-face" procession at weddings in the traditional Malay culture of Batubara, North Sumatra. This research will explore what mathematical aspects are contained in a regional culture of the Batubara Malay tribe, especially the “Nasi Face-to-face” procession. Descriptive qualitative research method with ethnographic approach is used in this study. The results showed that in the procession of "Nasi Facing-front" found various mathematical concepts related, namely sets, functions, geometry of flat shapes, and geometry of geometric shapes. With this research, it is hoped that it can be used as a unique medium for learning mathematics as well as getting to know the local culture that is applied in learning mathematics in schools.

Abstract. The Luhak Agam house (including Pasaman) in West Sumatra has its own characteristics that distinguished from other Minangkabau's Rumah Gadang in Luhak Tanah Datar and Luhak Limapuluh Koto. The location of Luhak Agam is very close to the Rokan Hulu area in Riau and South Tapanuli (Mandailing-Natal) in North Sumatra. At a glance, their traditional houses look similar, especially in the shape of the roof. There may have been cultural sharing in this area in ancient times. Therefore, the research tried to explore and compare their architectural characteristics. How is the linkage of the characteristics of the house? The qualitative research method compares and uses historical and linguistic sources to get a more comprehensive conclusion. So, this research can show the linkage between them. The results showed a process of traits and knowledge sharing among the Austronesian cultures variations in each of their houses.

This study aims to look at the role of ulama rantau in the process of proselytising (da'wah) in the Ngaju Dayak community, East Kotawaringin town, Central Kalimantan Province, particularly regarding the way ulama deal with a Dayak local culture which deeply remains lived within this community. Using a qualitative research method and the ethnographic approach, the findings revealed that the way ulama rantau conveyed the da'wah messages in a polite manner implicated to Ngaju Dayak ethnic society's acceptance towards Islam. Further, because ulama rantau respected the local cultural wisdom when conveying da’wah, people appreciated Islam brought by ulama (da’i) n the midst of a society which has different beliefs and cultural backgrounds.

This study aims to (1). To find out the process of learning mathematics during the Covid-19 pandemic. (2). To find out what the headmaster was doing in learning mathematical during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The research method used is using descriptive qualitative research method. Data collection techniques used interview techniques and documentation. The subject in this research is the principal, mathematics teacher and four students who are randomly selected. The results obtained from this study indicate (1). The process of learning mathematics during the Covid-19 pandemic described modules or material summaries and assigning assignments to student. (2). To see what the headmaster did in learning mathematical during the Covid-19 pandemic. Thus suggested that teachers should able to prepare the material properly so that students do not get bored with online learning. Students must take advantage of their free time to always explore the material that the teacher has distributed. For subsequent researchers who conduct research related similar, we use a broader subject.

In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, almost all Indonesians, including Bengkulu province, expect to experience the spike in positive cases of Covid-19, particularly in the Rejang Lebong Regency, resulting in many very significant changes in almost all fields, especially in the field of education. The learning process, consisting of synchronous learning, is carried out internet (online), namely face-to-face by video calls/ zoom meetings and asynchronous, namely by assignments. Using observational data methods, interviews, and notes, the research approach used is a qualitative research method. The aim of this study is to provide some explanations of the use of the zoom meeting application during a pandemic in online learning, to evaluate the constraints of using the zoom meeting application and the benefits of the application for zoom meeting from several features during a pandemic in online learning. The findings of this study show that it can be easier for lecturers and students to interact synchronously in the learning process by applying the zoom meeting application to learning during this pandemic.

This study discusses buying and selling activities in the present context. A process of changing buying and selling activities that were originally traditional or conventional to digital. Due to the rapid development of technology, it is finally making changes to buying and selling activities that were originally by way of direct transactions face to face between sellers and buyers, now sellers and buyers only transact via virtual or online using certain platforms. This study uses a qualitative research method, where the researcher aims to describe and analyze changes in people's behavior related to buying and selling activities from an offline system to an online one. Social change in society is not a result or a product but a process. This change process is of course the result of an agreement or joint decision taken by an individual or a community group. The decisions taken are of course in accordance with the wishes or expectations of the group so that social change can be realized.

AbstractThe article focuses on a method for collecting qualitative data. The method is the asynchronous email interview. The authors assess the advantages, challenges and best practices of the asynchronous email interview method. They base their assessment on the academic literature and their own experiences using this data collection method in qualitative research on women who had experienced perinatal loss. The asynchronous email interview will never fully replace traditional face-to-face interviews, but it could gain a solid position as a qualitative research method thanks to its unique benefits.

Assistive technology is initiated to aid those visually impaired to fulfil their tasks independently, rapidly, and easily. As such, tactile map is an assistive technology that has been widely used for navigation to enable those visually impaired to visualize the geographical information about a particular place. Nevertheless, its usability and availability in Malaysia are scant. This paper aims to investigate the usability issues of tactile map, identify the requirements and proposed a conceptual prototype named TacTalk. Qualitative research method in the form of face to face interviews were carried out with the visually impaired residing at Saint Nicholas’ Home for the Blind in Penang. Results from the findings identified four emerging usability issues: poor design of tactile map due to limited space, misinterpretation of information, complexity of symbols used and difficulty in memorizing directions. The proposed solution, ‘TacTalk’, refers to a ‘talking tactile map’ incorporated with audio support. TacTalk is comprised of two components, which are: a tactile map with built-in buttons, and a mobile application that plays the audio files. There is a connection between the buttons on the map and the TacTalk mobile application via Bluetooth. An audio instruction is played when the button is pressed by the user. The results of this work hope to overcome the fear of the visually impaired to travel alone. Hopefully, it can inspire and empower them to explore the use of assistive technology in future.
