Abstract Based on the survey, SMP Negeri 4 Semarang had many parrarel classes that it had?é?á 3 hours/week for science subject. To support it, this school was equipped by having a natural sciences labolatory. Actually, the teaching and learning process at the labolatory has been done well, but it needed to develop. Thus, they still need to buy?é?á reagent?é?á in chemistry store or health labolatory to help teaching natural sciences on practical work. Therefore, that chemistry reagent was not in new condition. Chemistry reagent which was kept too long in a storage place would decrease its ?é?áquality, then it will reduce the validation result if it is used for experiment on practical work.?é?á This case was caused by the teachers whose lack of skills in using the practical tools and understanding the function of these tools and materials. Then, we need a management in how to use practical work especially chemistry materials and reagent. The target of this program was natural sciences teachers, labolatory assistants and students of SMP Negeri 4 Semarang. The output result for this program was chemistry reagent and a set of equipment. This training makes the teachers and labolatory assistants more competent in providing chemistry reagent for natural sciences practical work autonomously. This study is aimed at exploring the way the English teachers at senior high schools exercise power and domination during the teaching and learning process. Conversation analysis and critical discourse analysis were used to analyze the data. The data were generated from thirty transcripts of classroom interaction comprising of two academic hour session for each transcript. The findings of this study revealed that the English teacher still exercised strong power and domination in the classroom. Most exchanges were initiated by the teacher (93%), and the students involvements were limited to providing responses in accordance with the information initiated by their teacher. The teachers’ domination was also seen in the length of the turns. The teachers normally had extended turn comprising one clause or more, while students’ contributions were normally short consisting of one word, one phrase, and one clause was the longest in each turn. Beside the two indicators, the teachers’ power and domination were seen in controlling the topic, giving instruction, asking close questions and providing correction. Key words: conversation, classroom discourse, power and domination

Abstract There are still a few handouts created by the teachers. In fact, teachers feel lazy to make a handout to succeed their teaching and learning process, especially civic teachers who are still low in understanding how to make and design their own handout. A handout is an instrument that teachers supposed to writing it. By writing a handout, teacher can explore his material based on the problems faced in the class. That is way; the Team thought that we need to give them something to train them in writing their own teaching handout. This community service was given to civic teachers of senior high school who has the important role in tranfering knowledge about civic subject. This activity had some sessions, there were; lecturing, discussion, questions answer and feedback. It hopes that by understanding the way in designing a teaching handout, they will be encouraged to make their own handout to support their teaching learning process in the classroom. ?é?á Key words : a teaching handout, a civic subject ?é?á

Natural science education (NSE) - one of the most actual fields of activity of a comprehensive school. One of most acute problems of today's education - low interest to natural sciences and especially to chemistry. This problem is actual not only in Lithuania, but also all over the world. Many researches of last years specify necessity of perfection of natural science education at all levels of an education system and especially at a level of a primary school. Acquaintance to natural sciences in a primary school does not meet today's requirements. It is necessary to return teaching of natural sciences in primary schools. The main accent of process of natural science education in a primary school should become a different sort of researches and experiments. The teaching and learning process in primary school level should have strong focus on constructivist learning and the role of social interaction in learning. The teachers should be able to improve motivation for learning through enjoyment and giving children some control of their science activities. The primary goal of natural sciences in an primary school is acquaintance of pupils to world around, formation of a complete picture of the world to all complex interrelations that further, in the basic school, to pass to studying separate subjects of a natural cycle (for example, chemistry, physics, biology). One of many reasons of low interest to chemistry - insufficient attention to a component of chemistry in the content of a primary education. For the period of primary school pupils does not receive the basic initial knowledge in chemistry and research skills. On the other hand, teachers of primary classes are not prepared at a sufficient level in sphere of modern natural science education. We should help children learn more about the chemicals that surround them in their everyday life. Also we should to complete the design of equipment and supporting materials for chemistry at the primary school level. It is obvious, that science remains abstract and alien to young students and they are not attracted to further study. We should try to change such a situation. First of all, a complete system for doing practical work from grade 1 to 4 in science must be carefully designed. Finally, we can note, that encouraging interest in the natural sciences is the priority of education (teaching and learning) process in primary school. To make the class activities effective, creative and fun innovation in teaching and learning process is required. One innovation that can be done is the use of numbered heads in a group discussion model. This method allows students to be actively and creatively involved in the activities, so the teaching process can be more interesting for students. Resumo: Atualmente paira sobre a área de Ciências Naturais, e principalmente na disciplina de Química, uma grande preocupação em relação ao processo de ensino-aprendizagem de conceitos científicos. Uma solução, por parte dos estudiosos da Educação Química, para sanar essa problemática é desenvolver e apontar materiais que utilizem Novas Tecnologias para incrementar a metodologia das aulas ministradas pelos professores de Ciências. Alguns desses materiais, que podem contribuir com o êxito no processo de ensino-aprendizagem, são os softwares lúdicos educacionais. Nesse sentido, realizou-se o desenvolvimento de um aplicativo para dispositivo móvel, denominado Quimi Crush, para auxiliar na mediação do conteúdo de Funções Orgânicas no Ensino Médio. O jogo didático foi desenvolvido, testado e aplicado com alunos do Ensino Médio e alunos do Ensino Superior. Esse jogo foi bem avaliado por ambos os grupos. Além disso, Quími Crush foi validado como jogo didático, podendo ser uma ferramenta para auxiliar as aulas de Química, tornando-as mais dinâmicas e interessantes.Palavras-chave: Química Orgânica. Tecnologias na Educação. Abstract: Nowaday, there is a great concern about the teaching and learning process of scientific concepts in the field of Natural Sciences, and especially in Chemistry classes. For education researchers, a solution to solve this problem is to develop and point out materials that use new technologies to increase the methodology of the classes. Some of these materials, which can contribute to the success in the teaching-learning process, are playful educational softwares. In this sense, it was developed a mobile device application, named Quimi Crush, to assist in mediating the content of Organic Functions in high school classes. The playful game was developed, tested and applied with High School and ungergraduate students. This game was well rated by both groups. In addition, Quimi Crush has been validated as an educational game and can be a tool to help in chemistry classes, making them more dynamic and interesting.Keywords: Organic Chemistry. Penelitian tindakan kelas dengan judul Pembelajaran Kontekstual dengan Teams Games Tournament (TGT) untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar telah dilakukan pada bulan Agustus – Oktober 2017. Subjek penelitian siswa  kelas IXA SMPN 3 Jember.Tujuan penelitian untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran kontekstual dengan metode belajar kooperatif TGT dapat meningkatkan hasil  belajar siswa. Data hasil belajar meningkat dari dari siklus I (75%) ke siklus II (100%). Data hasil belajar berdasarkan sub ranah kognitif (C1, C2, C3, C4, C5) meningkat dari siklus I ke siklus II Guru diharapkan menerapkan pembelajaran ini karena membantu siswa membangun kebiasaan berpikir positif dan memotivasi siswa lebih giat belajar.   Kata kunci: Pembelajaran kontekstual, TGT, hasil belajar Classroom action research with the title of Contextual Learning  using Teams Games Tournament (TGT) Cooperative Learning  to Enhance Result have been conducted in Agustus – Oktober 2017. The source of data in this research were students of class IXA State Junior High School 3 Jember. The result of the research shows that the students’ result increased. Increased result observation  the first cycle (75%) to the second cycle (100%). Increased result oof learning observation base on domain of cognitive from the first cycle (C1, C2, C3, C4, C5) to the second cycle. Teachers should implement this kind of teaching and learning activities because to help students build more positive thinking and motivate them to be more actively involved in the Science subject teaching and learning process   Key word: Contextual learning, TGT, result of learning

Students’ achievement in writing descriptive text is very low, in this study Think Pair Share (TPS) was applied to solve the problem. Action research in conducted for the result and the technique to collect the data, qualitative and quantitative are applied in this research. The subject of this research is grade VIII in Junior High School (SMP Bilang Huluh) Rantau Parapat. In the first evaluation (66,4375) increased to the mean of second evaluation (78,125) and the mean of third evaluation (87,5625). Observation result showed that the students gave their good attitudes and responses during teaching and learning process by applying the application of TPS (Think Pair Share) method. Questionnaire and interview report showed that students agree that the application of TPS (Think Pair Share) method had helped them in writing descriptive text. It can be conclude that the students’ achievement is improved when thay are tought through TPS Method. Key Words: Achievement, Writing, Descriptive Text and Think Pair Share

This study attempts to increase students’ vocabulary achievement by using pictures. This study is conducted by using Classroom Action Research. This study was conducted as the first grade students of SMP Nurul Hasannah Medan. One class from four classes was selected as the subject of this research. The number of the subject of the reseearch was 38 students. The class taught by using interview sheet and observation sheet. The quantitative data were collected by giving multiple choice tests counting the mean of the students. The result of the research shows that the mean of the second cycle (77.29%) is higher than the mean of the first cycle(72.71%) and pre test (67.14%). Based on the observation sheet, interview sheet, questionnaire sheet and diary notes, the students were more active and enthusiastic during the teaching and learning process in the second cycle than in the first cycle. Artikel ini cuba mengupas sifat dan peranan keperibadian Guru Cemerlang Pendidikan Islam (GCPI) terhadap pelajar dalam meningkatkan keberkesanan pengajaran dan pembelajaran di sekolah menengah dalam subjek Pendidikan Islam. Kupasan sifat dan peranan ini berdasarkan kajian yang dilaksanakan di beberapa buah sekolah menengah di Malaysia dalam bentuk soal selidik pelajar. Dalam kajian ini, beberapa kumpulan pelajar berlainan sekolah diminta menilai ciri keperibadian GCPI terhadap pelajar mereka masing-masing dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran di dalam kelas. Instrumen soal selidik pelajar digunakan bagi mendapatkan data kajian. Data ini kemudiannya dianalisis dengan menggunakan SPSS version 16.0. Hasil dapatan kajian menunjukkan min keseluruhan persepsi pelajar terhadap keperibadian GCPI dan motivasi mereka berada pada paras yang tinggi. Min keperibadian GCPI kepada penampilan adalah 4.50, keperibadian kepada pelajar (min = 4.00), dan motivasi pelajar (min = 4.30). Begitu juga sifat keperibadian ini mempunyai hubungan yang signifikan tinggi dan sederhana dengan motivasi pelajar dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran mereka di dalam bilik darjah. Kata kunci: Keperibadian; penampilan; motivasi pelajar This paper investigates the role of attitude and attributes of excellent Islamic Education teacher’s in enhancing the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process of the subject in secondary schools. The investigation was carried out in eight secondary schools throughout Malaysia. A set of questionnaires was distributed among secondary schoool students to evaluate the attitude of the excellent Islamic Education teachers in the classroom. Data was then analysed using SPSS version 16.0. It was found that the total mean of students’ perception on the attitude of the teachers and their motivation was at high level: i.e the mean attitude of teachers personality (mean = 4.50), attitude toward students (mean = 4.00), and student’s motivation (mean = 4.30). In addition, teachers’ attitude has an apparent relationship with student’s motivation during their teaching and learning process in the classroom. Nowadays in general education the emphasis is put on a pupil and his/her activity in learning. Gradually there are deepened pedagogical theories considering a pupil as an active constructor of knowledge. As the process of learning natural sciences at school is essential in the world cognition and it is needed to increase the effectiveness of learning natural sciences, including physics, as well as facilitate the attractiveness of these subjects, it is important to identify and evaluate contemporary didactic standpoints and opportunities for their application in the teaching and learning process. In the article the author analyzes the theoretical ideas of constructivism in the aspect of learning physics. The aim of the theoretical research is to evaluate the didactic standpoints of constructivism, put forward and describe the main principles of constructivism to be implemented in comprehensive secondary education. Within the research reflected in the article there is performed the analysis of scientific literature, analytical judgments are based on the previous empirical researches and using authors’ personal pedagogical experience.
