Background: Online education became mandatory for many students during the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and blurred the distinction between settings where processes of stress and restoration used to take place. The lockdown also likely changed perceptions of the indoor acoustic environment (i.e., soundscape) and raised its importance. In the present study, we seek to understand how indoor soundscape related to university students’ self-rated health in Bulgaria around the time that the country was under a state of emergency declaration caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Between 17 May and 10 June 2020, we conducted a cross-sectional online survey among 323 students (median age 21 years; 31% male) from two universities in the city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Self-rated health (SRH) was measured with a single-item. Participants were asked how frequently they heard different types of sounds while at home and how pleasant they considered each of those sounds to be. Restorative quality of the home (the “being away” dimension of the Perceived Restorativeness Scale) was measured with a single-item. A priori confounders and effect modifiers included sociodemographics, house-related characteristics, general sensitivity to environmental influences, and mental health. Our analysis strategy involved sequential exploratory factor analysis (EFA), multivariate linear and ordinal regressions, effect modification tests, and structural equation modeling (SEM). Results: EFA supported grouping perceived sounds into three distinct factors—mechanical, human, and nature sounds. Regression analyses revealed that greater exposure to mechanical sounds was consistently associated with worse SRH, whereas no significant associations were found for human and nature sounds. In SEM, exposure to mechanical sounds related to lower restorative quality of the home, and then to poorer SRH, whereas nature sounds correlated with higher restorative quality, and in turn with better SRH. Conclusions: These findings suggest a role of positive indoor soundscape and restorative quality for promoting self-rated health in times of social distancing.

This study seeks to identify the challenges facing students through the adoption of a blackboard system at the University of Ha’il in the KSA. Though the blackboard system has an effective role in the educational context, the adoption of the learning system in educational institutes is still in its infancy. However, students face various types of challenges that could affect their adoption and usage of the blackboard system. The previous researches on blackboard systems produced general rules, and studied a lot of common factors, did not consider the specific human factors. This study uses a quantitative research method. An online survey questionnaire was employed for data collection. For data analysis, SPSS was used for descriptive analysis; Structural equation modeling using AMOS software was applied. The results confirmed that the user’s LMS experience leaves a positive effect on the perception of the usefulness of the Blackboard system, but not computer anxiety. In addition, user’s LMS experience has a moderating effect on the relationship between self-efficacy and their perception of the usefulness of the Blackboard system. This moderating effect reflects that the more student’s LMS experience is the more affected their computer self-efficacy to perceive the Blackboard system more useful. This study produces theoretical and practical implications, and recommendations for the University of Ha’il should move forward with a learning platform.

Purpose This study aims to examine the impacts various types of resources had on customer effort in mandatory and voluntary value cocreation activities and the contribution of efforts in these different activity types to quality of life. Design/methodology/approach Data from customers across five chronic health conditions were collected through an online survey. Rasch analysis helped identify hierarchies of activities representing varying levels of effort across four activity types (mandatory (customer), mandatory (customer or organization), voluntary in-role and voluntary extra-role activities). The conceptual model that was developed to examine the relationships of interest was analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. Findings While clinical resources helped mandatory activities and personal network resources facilitated voluntary activities, psychological resources had greater impacts on customer effort across the whole range of activities. Effort in each activity type contributed to the quality of life differently, with voluntary activities having the greatest impacts on quality of life. Practical implications This study lends support to a holistic approach to health service that requires the mobilization of networks of resources to encourage customers’ engagement in a broad range of activities. Understanding the resources facilitating effort in distinct activity types provides insights to develop strategies to drive value cocreation efforts that subsequently contribute to improvements in quality of life. Originality/value Drawing on an extensive and nuanced categorization of activities, this study broadened the understanding of the networks of resources that are integrated in customer value cocreation processes and the link between value cocreation efforts and quality of life.

Currently the learning system based on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has been growing. The Open University (UT) has been using e-learning in the provision of learning support services. Online tutorials (Tuton) is one form of e-learning provided UT. Since the registration period of 2013.1-2014.2, the number of courses offered in Tuton increased by 11% and participants also increased by 52%. Although Tuton has been growing rapidly, the total number of students has declined from the registration period of 2013.1 to 2015.1. Such a decrease can be justified as an indicator of lack of loyalty or retention of students. The main objective of this study is to test the relationship between the antecedents of loyalty, service quality, commitment, satisfaction, and reputation. The study population comes from four faculties and one graduate program. Nonprobability method of sampling with judgmental sampling technique is used in this study. The minimum required sample size is 200 respondents. Survey data collection is conducted by inviting respondents by email to fill out a questionnaire online in google site. Then the data were analyzed both descriptively and quantitatively using descriptive analysis and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Results of hypothesis testing showed that 6 of 7 hypothesis were accepted with significant results. These sixth hypothesis are1) the influence of the quality of services to satisfaction; 2) the effect of the reputation on the quality of services; 3) the effect of commitment to student satisfaction; 4) the effect of satisfaction on reputation; 5) the effect of satisfaction on loyalty; and 6) the effect of reputation on loyalty. As for the rejected hypothesis is the effect of reputation on commitment.

Keywords : loyalty, quality of service, commitment, satisfaction, reputation

Higher education institutions provide educational service that involves high intensity of interaction between lecturers and students. The relationship of a lecturer with the university determines the quality of the education that will be given to students. Exchanges that occur between lecturers and the higher education organizations, such as internal marketing activities, cannot be considered merely as a simple transactional economic process since educational role contains social elements in it. Relationship among university lecturers certainly plays an important role in determining lecturers' behavioral intention in conducting their academic tasks. This study is aimed to analyze the mediating role on the relationship quality of lecturers-college in marketing process where the effect of internal marketing offerings on Academic Behavioral Intention. With an online survey of 256 private university lecturers, this research seeks to analyze the magnitude of influence of the quality of Lecturer Connectivity on Academic Behavior Intention of lecturers. Data analysis was performed by utilizing Structural Equation Modeling with Lisrel software. Results have shown that the effect of the internal marketing mix towards Academic Behavioral Intention seemed to be greater through relationship quality in comparison to its direct influence.

The pandemic of COVID-19 quickly led to the closure of universities and colleges around the world, hoping that the guidance of social distancing from public health authorities will help flatten the curve of infection and minimize the overall fatalities from the epidemic. The e-learning framework, however, is the best solution to enable students to learn about the quality of education. The aim of this research was to examine variables reflecting the actual use of the e-learning system during the COVID-19 pandemic among university students. The perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness are positively correlated with facilitating condition, perceived control, and self-efficacy, which in turn influences students’ attitude toward use, which in turn affects the actual use of the e-learning system during the COVID-19 pandemic. To exam the model on the basis of user data from the e-learning system used collected through an online survey, structural equation modeling (SEM) and path analysis were used. The findings showed that the mindset of students to use had positive effects on the learning of students during the COVID-19 pandemic through the actual use of the e-learning system. In the context of e-learning programs in developing countries, previous studies have seldom explored an integrated model. In addition, this article aims to include a literature review of recently published research on the actual use of the e-learning system during the pandemic of COVID-19.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and related restrictive measures have impacted on leisure activities globally; South Korea is no exception. In this cross-sectional study we identified the need to increase leisure opportunities during social distancing and respond to changes in leisure activities post-COVID-19. The leisure attitude, stress-related growth, and quality of life of 260 participants were examined via an online survey. Data were analyzed through structural equation modeling. Results show that during social distancing, leisure attitude was positively associated with stress-related growth, leisure attitude was not significantly associated with quality of life, and stress-related growth was positively associated with quality of life. From a long-term perspective, as leisure activities can improve stress-related growth and quality of life, education and related discussions must continue to ensure that people hold a positive attitude toward leisure participation.

The present paper reexamines the psychometric properties of the Quality Perception Questionnaire (QPQ), an Italian survey instrument measuring patients’ perceptions of the quality of a recent hospital admission experience, in a sample of 4400 patients (Mage = 56.42 years; SD = 19.71 years, 48.8% females). The 14-item survey measures four factors: satisfaction with medical doctors, nursing staff, auxiliary staff, and hospital structures. First, we tested two models using a confirmatory factor analysis (structural equation modeling): a four orthogonal factor and a four oblique factor model. The SEM fit indices and the χ² difference suggested the acceptance of the second model. We then did a simulation using a bootstrap with 1000 replications. Results confirmed the four oblique factor solution. Third, we tested whether there were significant differences with respect to age or sex. The multivariate general linear model showed no significant differences in the factors with respect to sex or age.

The accuracy and reliability is the quality of the information. The more accurate and reliable, the more information it’s good quality. Similarly, a survey, the better the survey, the more accurate the information provided. Implementation of student satisfaction measurement to the process of teaching and learning activities on the quality of the implementation of important lectures in order to get feedback on the assessed variables and for future repair. Likewise in Higher Education Prog has undertaken the process of measuring student satisfaction through a distributed questioner finally disemester each class lecture. However, the deployment process questioner is identified there are 7 (seven) problems. However, the problem can be resolved by the 3 (three) ways of solving problems one of which is a system of iLearning Survey (Isur), that is by providing an online survey to students that can be accessed anywhere and anytime. In the implementation shown a prototype of Isur itself. It can be concluded that the contribution Isur system can maximize the decision taken by the Higher Education Prog. By using this Isur system with questions and evaluation forms are submitted and given to the students and the other colleges. To assess the extent to which the campus has grown and how faculty performance in teaching students class, and can be used as a media Isur valid information for an assessment of activities throughout college.

Many authors examined the interplay between gender and conflict management preferences, but those findings were often mixed and inconsistent. In the current paper we tried to explain those inconsistencies by investigating the mediating role of personality for the relationship of gender and conflict management. Rahim's inventory was used for identifying five conflict management styles, and Big Five Model theory was a base for assessing participants' personality traits. Data were collected from a sample of 1,055 working Poles (52.7% women), in an online survey. Based on the structural equation modeling we detected multiple indirect mediating paths of gender on conflict management via personality traits, while no direct effect of gender was observed. Despite some limitations, the study sheds light on the actual role of gender in conflict behavior and the importance of personality traits in the conflict management, both from a theoretical and practical perspective.
