The subject of the article is an analysis of changes in the procedure in which the termination and expiry of the employment relationship of academic teachers takes place on the basis of the Act on Higher Education and the Act on Higher Education and Science replacing this act. On the basis of the repealed act the employment relationship with academic teachers was established on the basis of an appointment or an employment contract. Depending on the basis for establishing the employment relationship, the issues of the possibility of terminating the employment relationship with an academic teacher were also different. The result of the introduction of new regulations on termination of the employment relationship of an academic teacher is the equalization of the situation of appointed and contract teachers in this respect, and thus weakening the protection against termination of employment of appointed teachers.

The New Soviet Man has been studied primarily from the perspective of its creators, propagators of Communist ideology, while the recipients of the New Soviet Man project and its immediate end users, namely pupils and teachers were largely ignored. Hence, the present research, while capturing and utilizing the experience of Soviet Latvia from 1945 to 1985, sets the research questions as to how the image of the New Soviet Man was presented and introduced at schools and how the concept of the New Soviet Man was perceived and utilised by the “objects” of this state contract – teachers and pupils. The research corpus includes 26 textbooks, 265 school photos and 367 student profile records. For the research purposes, four discursive domains of the New Soviet Man project were identified, namely, socio-biological discourse (gender, body, sexuality and health); social discourse (social class); spatial discourse (nationality) and discourse of individuality (personality, character traits). Given that the dictatorship unavoidably engenders the conflict of interests and resistance, the research corpus allowed to detect some tiny openings for the oppressed to express their views, some elements of pupils’ and teachers’ subtle resistance to the creation of the New Soviet Man, by using horizontal solidarity, avoidance, and slipping into the Grey Zone.

This study discusses the social gaps in teachers reviewed from differences in teacher staffing status in DKI Jakarta. The status of existing teachers is; Civil Servant Teachers (PNS), Individual Employment Contract Teachers (KKI), and School Honorer Teachers. The research aims to see how gaps occur in teachers with different staffing statuses. The study used the concept of material disparity and Dahrendorf's authority to look at gaps in teachers. Previous studies of teacher inequality have been limited to policy gaps in teachers and teacher welfare gaps. This study shows that differences in teacher staffing status can lead to material and authority gaps occurring in teachers. This study uses qualitative case studies with informants of civil servant teachers, KKI teachers, and school honorer teachers in DKI Jakarta as research subjects.

AbstractCrucial issues with religius education teachers (GPA) policies are related to coaching, career development, welfare and recruitment. This research approach is qualitative with descriptive type. Data collection uses in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document studies. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of GPA policies on the four problems above, problems and solutions. The informants of this study were the Kasi at the Education Office, the Head of the Provincial Government, the Head of the Division and the Kasi at the Ministry of Religion, PA Supervisors and PA Teachers. The results showed that the GPA guidance policy was not optimal due to funding constraints, the limited number of supervisors covering very large coverage areas. Regarding career development, GPAs experience difficulties in writing scientific papers and require seminars or competency tests when they are promoted from IV / A to IV / B. Regarding welfare, non-PNS GPAs are constrained from participating in certification and inpassing because they have to include a decree from the Mayor / Regent and GPA who have not been certified due to limited quota There are three types of religious teachers in schools, namely those appointed by the Ministry of Religion, the Regional Government, and the Education Office, where the GPA data is always different and there is no coordination. In order to meet the lack of GPA in schools, the Ministry of Religion needs to appoint GTT religious teachers or contract teachers who are funded by the APBN, just as the Regional Government appoints GTT religious teachers who are funded by the APBD.AbstrakMasalah krusial kebijakan Guru Pendidikan Agama (GPA) adalah terkait pembinaan, pengembangan karier, kesejahteraan dan rekrutmen.

Communication skills include speaking, writing, reading and listening skills. These skills are equally important for the teachers to conduct teaching activities within the classrooms. The effective delivery of information among teachers could help students in improving their academic performance. This study was conducted to explore the communication skills of the teachers working on regular and contract basis in English medium schools in Lahore District. Total 84 teachers (42 regular and 42 contract teachers) participated in this study. Data were collected through questionnaire and analysed through Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). T-test was applied to compare the communications kills of regular and contract teachers. Findings conclude that regular and contract teachers were statistically different regarding structured sentencing, non-verbal behaviors and speaking skills (P0.05). Low professional qualification, job insecurity, lack of pre-service and in-service trainings, interest and increased curriculum responsibilities were the significant factors (P0.05) impeding the development of communications skills among regular and contract-based teachers. This study urges that a concrete pre-service and in-service training programs should be arranged across the educational institutions for the development of teachers. This study has strong implications for the all-educational institutions carrying teaching activities.
