AbstractThe research entitled Implementation Evaluation of the Results of the 2019 Tsanawiyah Madrasah Teacher Training was conducted in 10 BDK regions. The results showed that after the training, teachers experienced a very high increase in competence, obtaining scores above 80. Generally, science teachers, alumni of education, and training felt that after attending the training, there is an increase in incompetence in terms of knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Among the three competency supporting variables, the attitude variable has the highest contribution, followed by the knowledge and skills variables. The increase in the high competence of science teachers after attending this training was observed by their ability to implement them in learning. However, the results of this training have not had a significant impact on improving the quality of madrasas, because, in most madrasas, the results of training are still challenging to implement due to many factors, including unavailability of laboratory facilities, the uneven ability of science teachers both in learning and in utilization. science equipment, the number of science teachers who have received training is still very few, and madrasah policies that do not support science learning.

The extensive use of tape recordings has been employed to assist in training science teachers. Benefits observed included an increase in personal awareness of the classroom atmosphere for both teacher and listener, an increase in the quality of teaching, and an increase in the quality and efficiency of supervision. The tape exchange system, between student teacher and college supervisor, was used to supplement regular classroom visits. Besides providing the student teacher with the operational skills and potential innovative classroom use of recorders and tapes, the exchange program allowed the teacher to share his best teaching efforts with his peers and the college supervisor. The college supervisor was able to benefit by using the “dead time” resulting from travel between schools to listen to the tapes and become familiar with the classroom environment and the progress for that particular student teacher. Each tape included an introduction and the objectives for the lesson taught, a recording of the actual class taught, and the recorded comments of the college supervisor.

Computerized auditory training (CAT) is a convenient, low-cost approach to improving communication of individuals with hearing loss or other communicative disorders. A number of CAT programs are being marketed to patients and audiologists. The present literature review is an examination of evidence for the effectiveness of CAT in improving speech perception in adults with hearing impairments. Six current CAT programs, used in 9 published studies, were reviewed. In all 9 studies, some benefit of CAT for speech perception was demonstrated. Although these results are encouraging, the overall quality of available evidence remains low, and many programs currently on the market have not yet been evaluated. Thus, caution is needed when selecting CAT programs for specific patients. It is hoped that future researchers will (a) examine a greater number of CAT programs using more rigorous experimental designs, (b) determine which program features and training regimens are most effective, and (c) indicate which patients may benefit from CAT the most.

Quality outcomes from vocational education and training (VET) are fundamental to ensuring a skilled workforce and supporting a productive economy. The quality of vocational training from the demand’s perspective is defined as meeting the customer specification, needs or requirements. Using the method of Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Multiple Regression Analysis to get the analytical results of 275 respondents as graduates of University of Transport and Communication, University of Transport Technology (the two universities training on transportation in the North of Vietnam), the results show that factors are measured by the observed variables in the study that ensure reliability and relevance. The descriptive statistics result of vocational training quality is 3.28, while all independent variables are at average level (between 3.1 to 3.48) with the highest value related to the quality of the teacher and the lowest are facilities and training programs and management capacity of university. However, the regression results show that the qualification of the teacher, material facilities and training program, management capacity and job opportunities at the training school do not affect the quality of the training while “Learners-NH” have a great positive effect and the labor market information has a negative effect on the training quality of the school significantly. Base on those data, some policy recommendations have been given out in order to improve the training quality of transport technology universities in the north of Vietnam in particular and the vocational training quality of Vietnam in general.

This article presents the results of a number of operations research studies (OR) of family planning services provided by a new cadre of female village-based family planning workers in Punjab Province, Pakistan. This cadre of workers, recruited nationwide, have been trained to visit women in their villages to provide information and family planning services. The studies were conducted as part of a broad program of technical assistance to the Government of Pakistan. Surveys investigated the quality of their training as well as attitudes among clients to the new program. They found that the program is developing well but there is room for improvement, particularly in counseling and training. Additional field studies are ongoing and recommendations for change have been incorporated in training and supervision. The program is expanding on a national scale.

This chapter discusses how the growth of precarious work and the polarization of the US labor market have produced major problems for the employment experiences of young workers. A prominent indicator of young workers’ difficulties in the labor market has been the sharp increase in their unemployment rates since the Great Recession. Another, equally if not more severe, problem faced by young workers today is the relatively low quality of the jobs that they were able to get. Other problems include the exclusion of young workers from the labor market and from education and training opportunities; the inability to find jobs that utilize their education, training, and skills; and the inability to obtain jobs that provide them with an opportunity to get a foothold in a career that would lead to progressively better jobs and thus be able to construct career narratives.

Olfaction, the sense of smell, is characterized by a notable age-dependency such that aging individuals are more likely to have poor olfactory abilities. These impairments are considered to be mostly irreversible and as having potentially profound effects on quality of life and food behavior, as well as constituting warning signs of mortality, cognitive dysfunction, and dementia. Here, we review the current state of research on aging and olfaction, focusing on five topics which we regard to be of particular relevance for the field: nutrition and health, cognition and dementia, mortality, environment and genetics, and training-based enhancement. Under each of these headlines, we provide a state-of-the-art overview and discuss gaps in our knowledge which might be filled by further research. Understanding how olfactory abilities are diminished in aging, and how they may be alleviated or recovered, involves a set of challenging tasks for researchers in the years to come.
