The development of the management information sysyem caused a significant change in the pattern of decision making by management both at the operational and leadership levels at all levels. The development of management information systems also causes changes in the role of each manager in decision making, each person is required to be able to obtain the most accurate and up-to-date information that can be used in the decision making process.

  This study aimed at identifying the impact of management information systems on the administrative decision-making process at King Abdul-Aziz University in Jeddah from the administrative and technical staff standpoint who working at the university. In addition, to achieve this goal the descriptive and analytical approach was used. The problem of the study represents the challenges imposed by the external environment. The questionnaire initial data were distributed and (397) responses were obtained from the sample members. The study revealed several results that the most important to use programs related to management information systems which has a positive and effective impact on decision-making at King Abdul-Aziz University. Based on the results of the study, presenting a number of recommendations, involving the necessity to build databases for management information systems that can be referred to at any time to support administrative decision-makers and employee use them in solving numerous work problems.

Today’s business environment is unpredictable, dynamic, unstable and, necessitates the growing demand for accurate, relevant, complete, timely and, economical information needed to drive the decision-making process. The quick developments of information technology coupled with the development of telecommunications technologies, have modernized all areas of business and human activities. In today’s business world, there are different types of information systems. Each plays a unique role for a manager decision-making functions. In this paper, the decision maker’s satisfaction, contents of information and information access quality have been analyzed and studied. Here identified necessary variables aiming to evaluate the influence of management information systems in decision support capabilities and side by side discuss the concept, characteristics, types of MIS, the MIS model, and in particular it will highlight the impact of MIS in decision making. At the same time, different models and figures are presented to enrich the discussion and to highlight the status of each MIS and DSS information systems in an organization decision-making process.

A proper implementation of Management Information Systems (MIS) can improve an organization's performance, productivity, and work efficiently. Three factors are vital in the successful implementation of MIS. These are organization factors, technology factors and management factors. There are several other factors but these three are the most important ones according to observation. All other factors can be incorporated into these three factors. These three main factors work in an integrated and coordinated way. There are several other important sub-factors in each of these three areas. These are also discussed in this paper. Management Information Systems (MIS) play a vital role in decision-making process. Managers can improve their decision-making process with the successful execution of Information Systems. Our main goal in this paper is to determine the factors and make discussions on them. How they affect in the successful implementation of MIS is also discussed here.

The management information system used in the organization has now increased when seen from its efficiency and effectiveness. The initial stage of developing management information systems aims to improve the efficiency of activities in the organization.  So that it is considered as part of a comprehensive organizational strategy. An important focus of MIS is on data collection. Because organizations are said to be successful if the quality of data collection is high. Management information systems also aim at decision making in an organization. The overall review of the literature highlights that management information systems play a major role in decision making in an organization. So the expected results of the study explain specifically the role  of management information system in managerial decision making.

The application of management information systems in the management of schools or colleges is very influential and has an important role in management activities. Management of a good management information system will directly affect the performance of educational organizations and institutions. Management information systems also play a direct role in the decision making process in schools and colleges because the data and information obtained will help managers or principals in determining actions in decision making. In addition the application of a good and appropriate management information system will simplify and speed up a job.

Purpose: The purpose is to evaluate the impact of the use of Management Information Systems (MIS) in the management of small companies in the field of rural activity. Methodology: In this study, questionnaires were applied to rural producers using the conventional accounting system, obtaining 37 responses. In addition, 7 interviews were conducted with rural producers who started to use MIS to control their activities. Results: Using the analysis of differences between respondents who use MIS or not, it was possible to identify which points are linked to its implementation, in addition to assessing the benefits obtained from the system used. The results indicate that the use of MIS reflected positively in management, especially with regard to cost and culture control, forecasting needs, increased profit and assistance in decision making. Contributions of the Study: The findings of the study clarify the practical implications of using MIS in rural properties, such as receptivity to the use of the system and, mainly, which advantages with use are most indicated by respondents from properties that already use it. In this sense, we claim accounting entrepreneurs to instigate the use of management tools by rural producers who do not yet use it, but consider the use of MIS as beneficial.
