This paper is an attempt to explain problems of cultural heritage conservation and management in Thailand due to the neglect of the State and the weakness of the society in understanding and protecting their cultural heritage especially the “folk culture” against globalization. The paper also points out that the impending Thailand Charter for cultural heritage conservation and management is the key solution to counterbalance today’s threats. Non-government organizations should take the lead in drafting the Charter with full public participation. Meanwhile local cultural heritage organizations which are at risk should immediately respond, with all stakeholders involved, before it is too late.

The natural landscape of the pudong ancient town in Shanghai's waterfront with "bridges, water, people" rich in distinctive cultural landscape has always been popular. Rustic country setting and its rich cultural heritage have attracted many people to want to get to know it. Ancient town in Shanghai have been famous in the world too. "Authenticity" town folk culture is the essence of the town's cultural heritage. On one hand, the attention to the life of local residents and traditional architecture "authenticity" can revitalize traditional cultural heritage, promote tourism development and protection of ancient town. On the other hand, building ecology, energy conservation, and sustainability are the current world trend, most importantly the needs of the world's sustainable economic development. In this paper, taking Shao Jia Lou town house as an example for the transformation of the traditional waterfront interface, based on the waterfront interface environmental features, the adoption of the internal layout of the building materials and re-design the ventilation system, heating systems and new energy sources, ecological transformation has been carefully designed. In addition, some practical design studies have been done regarding the diversification of the use of small space. The precondition of making people aware of China's traditional ecological transformation of the waterfront interface is to extend the traditional culture, ancient town in Shanghai, protect and improve the waterfront environment and raise living standards.

Drawing on my considerable knowledge of the field, this essay examines key components of the intangible cultural heritage of several Caribbean countries. It maps pictures of cultural similarities which can be traced to their roots in traditional sub-Saharan, African cultures. The article demonstrates that oral African cultural traditions derived from a rich cultural heritage are shared by the former Anglo and Francophone, Caribbean colonies. The article suggests that the cultural similarities in the folk culture, help Caribbean people to identify with each other as members of the larger African diaspora. Furthermore, the article also explores possible roles of synergy theatre, digitization and animation as mechanisms to maintain and retain the folk culture, once disseminated exclusively by our oral cultural traditions.

The traditional style is an important part of the cultural heritage in the historical and cultural towns and villages in our country, which functions as a bridge between history and reality. It is a typical representative of extending history and reflecting the folk culture, also is the product of human civilization and the witness of China city development. At the same time, with the development of the ages, the traditional scenes develop and change with time. All this has also formed unique characteristics of the protection to the traditional scenes. In this paper, the author proposes a series of corresponding counter measures through caring on a more comprehensive analysis to traditional style protection of the historic villages and towns.

Nowadays it seems that the notion of cultures as petrified monoliths has largely become outdated. The boundaries between cultures are blurred and vague, due to migration, transnational communities and diaspora, education and socialization. Folk culture is often declared to be archaic, whereas high culture is declared to be universal in terms of its meanings and values; mass culture and postmodern life are based on the media and electronic communications as vectors of meaning, notions, beliefs. This paper focuses on the issues of relations between cultures that retain their uniqueness, the mutual permeation of cultures that constitute the world’s cultural heritage. It also deals with the interpretation of the widely accepted phrase ‘mythology of the open road’, which is linked to mastering information and its transformation from the manuscript through the printed to the digital format. It is an expression of recognition of broad and diverse possibilities of providing information on cultural heritage. At the same time, it represents an ironic statement, since access to knowledge is conditioned by technological, economic, ethnic, political, legal, geographical and linguistic barriers.

The purpose of the article is the conceptualization and rethinking of the meaning of Ukrainian children's folklore as an integral part of the structure of Ukrainian folk art culture and carefully crafted magic rituals. Updating the concept «Ukrainian children's folklore» in the context of cultural knowledge, defining the essence of this phenomenon in the chronotope of the 21st century and evaluating temporal and spatial unity, which contributes to the preservation of the national cultural heritage, the dialogue of different cultures and human unity, is also the goal of the work. The delineation of the essence of this phenomenon in the chronotope of the XXI century and the assessment of temporal-spatial unity, which contributes to the preservation of the national cultural heritage and dialogue of different cultures, is also the goal and object of analysis. The methodology consists in applying comparative and concrete-historical methods for conceptualization of Ukrainian children's folklore in the context of national folk art culture, use of formal method, as well as hermeneutic interpretation method for analysis of the concept of «children's folklore» and its functions in today's chronotope. The scientific novelty lies in the actualization and conceptualization in the context of culturological knowledge of Ukrainian folklore, including children's (riddles), as a complex phenomenon and an integral part of the morphology and typology of national folk art culture in the chronotope of the XXI century. Scientific novelty also consists in revealing on the basis of delineation and comprehension of essence, dynamics of laws of development and an estimation of internal structure and space-time unity of functions of the Ukrainian national art culture, consideration of interaction of oral folk art of the childhood and dialogue of various cultures. Conclusions. In modern socio-cultural reality the question of understanding the chronotope of Ukrainian folk art culture as a dialectical unity of traditional and innovative models of life in space and time and conceptualization of Ukrainian children's folklore (riddles) in the context of culturological knowledge as an integral part of morphology and typology of national folk art culture. Ukrainian children's folklore in its diversity of forms, types, functions, purposes is an attractive phenomenon that requires further conceptualization and continuation of thorough research. Defining the essence of this phenomenon in the chronotope of national folk culture contributes to the preservation of national cultural heritage and dialogue of different cultures in the XXI century. Chinese traditional culture is the root and soul of the Chinese nation, the soft power of the national culture, and the source to strengthen cultural confidence. As an important part of traditional Chinese culture, folk culture is the basis for telling Chinese stories well. Folk cultural heritage is the golden name card of national culture going to the world, and protecting and inheriting it is an important mission given by the new era. The important discussion on cultural heritage protection is not only a scientific inquiry into the practice of cultural heritage protection, but also points out the direction for cultural tourism to help poverty alleviation work.

We substantiate the importance of preserving the nonmaterial cultural heritage, folk culture and the development of traditional handicrafts, the need to integrate culture and education. We prove the effectiveness of measures to preserve the nonmaterial cultural heritage through the development of children’s traditions and technologies of folk art crafts and handicrafts in additional education. We analyze the implementation of additional general educational programs in the field of decorative and applied arts and activities to preserve folk art crafts and handicrafts are being conducted in the regions of the Russian Federation. We make proposals for the development of educational programs in the field of folk crafts.

Zygmunt Gloger (1845–1910) is in Poland sometimes called “a preserver (ocalacz) of collective memory”, a collector of national heritage, a propagator of folk culture, a scholar-excursionist, and a writer-archaeologist. While reading his numerous works (over 800 publications in his bibliography), it is hard to ignore his patriotism and love for his homeland – Podlasie. His goal in life was to understand the problems of the people (understood as a Slavic community), their mentality and worldview, and to record their legacy in a way comprehensible to future generations. Gloger was aware that preserving the cultural heritage of a passing world, its textualization, was an effective method of maintaining Polish national unity in the period of Partitions. In this text I will attempt to present one of Gloger’s works – Baśnie i Powieści, published in 1889 in Warsaw and containing 13 stories which, as suggested by the very title page, were drawn from folk tales and some earlier books (“Baśnie i powieści z ust ludu i książek zebrał Zygmunt Gloger”). I will analyse the genesis of these stories, their literary genetics, composition, and character. I will pay attention to their axiology (e.g. the virtue of thrift, which is particularly stressed by Gloger) and the unique features of the collection (e.g. numerous proverbs, elements of traditional rituals of the Polish region of Podlasie,).
