The North Altai meadows are situated in the low parts of the forest altitudinal belt (500—900 m a. s. l.). The climatic conditions of these sites are favorable for meadows. The sites have sufficient precipitation and rich soils. The diversity of meadows in the North Altai is presented by communities of 4 orders of class Molinio-Arrhenatheretea: Molinietalia (2 associations), Carici-Crepidetalia (5 subassociations of 2 associations), Arrhenatheretalia (3 associations), Galietalia veri (1 association). The main differences between a size of formations (units of ecological-phytocoenotic classification) and a size of associations (subassociations) (units of floristic classification) appear due to the biogeographical classifications suggesting the different limits of distribution of steppe meadows and forest meadows, true meadows and forest meadows. On the basis of data presented all meadow syntaxa can be grouped according 3 ranges of anthropogenic transformation: watershed range of lower part of the forest belt, watershed range of the forest-steppe belt fragments and river valley range.

Steppe and forest-steppe belts in Central Altai occupy the bottoms of inter-mountain basins, expanded river valleys and surrounding mountains. The studied 4 steppe sites give sublatitudinal discontinuous range. The Kanskaya basin is rounded, the Ursulskaya one and the Chuya river (lower reaches) valleys are elongated from the east to the west while the steppe site of the Katun river valley — from the south to the north. The Kanskaya basin has a rounded shape while the Ursulskaya basin and the Chuya river valley (lower reaches) are elongated in the latitudinal direction, the steppe site of the Katun river valley — in longitudinal one. The configuration of the surrounding mountains is different: Kanskaya basin is surrounded by gradual mountain ridges with rare outcrops while valley boards of Katun and Chuya rivers are steep and rocky. Steppe belt ((600) 800–1100 m above s. l.) occupies the bottoms of the basins (expanded river valleys) and sun exposed adjoining slopes. Forest-steppe belt (1100–1400 m) occurs on the boards of the basins and includes 2 subbelts: the transitional lower (1100–1200 m) and the main upper (1200–1400 m) ones. It is continuous in the Kanskaya and the Ursulskaya basins and fragmented on the slopes of the Katun and Chuya river valleys. The plant cover structure of each belt is determined by altitudinal types of communities as well as by stands of rocky sites (so called petrophytic steppes). Studied steppes belong to classes Festuco-Brometea (FB) — order Stipetalia sibiricae and Cleistogenetea squarrosae (Cs) — orders Helictotrichetalia schelliani and Stipetalia krylovii. The forest vegetation within the forest-steppe belt goes to Rhytidio-Laricetea (RL) and Brachypodio–Betuletea (BB)and steppe meadows — to Molinio-Arrhenatheretea (MA) — order Carici macrouri–Crepidetalia sibiricae. The phytocoenotic spectra of altitudinal and petrophytic types of communities in steppe and in the upper part of forest-steppe belts are similar in all four sites. The key association in steppe belt is Fragario viridis–Stipetum capillatae (FB). These in the forest-steppe belt are larch herb forests of the ass. Anemonoido caeruleae–Pinetum sylvestris laricetosum (BB), steppe meadows of the ass. Cruciato krylovii–Poetum sibiricae (MA) and the meadow steppes of two vicarious associations — Violo dissectae–Achnatheretum sibiricae (FB) in the Kanskaya basin and Cruciato krylovii–Caricetum pediformis (FB) in three other sites. The petrophytic steppes belong to two associations: Kitagawio baicalensis–Cleistogenetum squarrosae (Cs) on the sun exposed slopes and Galio paniculati–Caraganetum arborescentis (FB) on shadow ones within the steppe belt, and to subass. Carici pediformis–Spiraetum trilobatae schizonepetosum multifidae (FB) that occurs only on sun exposed slopes within the forest-steppe belt. The differences of phytocoenotic spectra of studied sites are determined by the vegetation of the transitional stripe. Forest communities of the ass. Primulo cortusoidis–Laricetum sibiricae (RL) cover the gentle slopes of the Kanskaya and Ursulskaya basins, petrophytic stands of the ass. Carici pediformis–Spiraetum trilobatae schizonepetosum multifidae (FB) occupy rocky sites. Forest communities of the ass. Galio paniculati–Laricetum sibiricae (RL) are commonon the steep slopes of the Katun and Chuya river valleys and petrophytic stands belong to the ass. Kitagawio baicalensis–Cleistogenetum squarrosae (Cs). The bottom of the Katun river valley with the very specific mesoclimate is occupied by steppe ass. Artemisio frigidae–Stipetum krylovii (Cs) that in general is not typical for the studied area.

According to statistic evaluation of the manifestation of signs of the economic suitability of state sort resources of 2019 registration potatoes when growing it in different agro-climatic conditions, a significant advantage of influence of the forest-steppe conditions was determined. Compared to Polesia the increase of yield rose for 4.1 t/ha or 18 % (НІР05 = 2.18, Ffact= 12.65 > F05 = 4.22) and the amount of trade potato for 22.72 ha or 20 % (Ffact = 58.87). There is also a tendency to increase the number of starch from unit of area for – 17 % and the total consumer properties for – 8 %.  However, there is a significant difference in the reduction of storability of products by 45 % and the lack of it’s resistance to macrosporiosis and late blight. It was proved that the yield of varieties for cultivation in the polesia zone by 25.7 % depended on the duration of the growing season (Ffact = 4.14 > F05  = 0.06). The relationship between yield and starch of potatoes in Polesia zone varieties  was determined – 23.6 % and in forest-steppe – 17.3 % and starch collection, respectively, 33.6 % and 28.0 %. The dependence of storability of potato which grew in the polesia zone and in forest-steppe from the amount of starch for 15 % was mathematically proved (Ffact = 2.11 > F05 = 0.17) і 11.3 % (Ffact = 1.52 > F05 = 0.24); the dependence of storability on the duration of the growing season in the Forest-Steppe conditions was confirmed(Ffact = 0.66 > F05  = 0.43). In addition, the 12 % of tasting grade of the Forest-Steppe varieties depended on the starch content amount (Ffact = 1.65 > F05 = 0.22). According to the results of the regression analysis, mathematical models have been developed to predict yields, culinary and consumer properties, and the storability of new potato varieties under different growing conditions. The project of a conveyor for the consumption of fresh product in summer  period with the involvement of varieties of early ripeness in the Forest-Steppe was presented: 80 days after planting – Sanibel, 90 days after planting – Medison, Paroli, 95 days after planting – Bazalia, Bernina, 100 days after planting – Donata, in the Polesia zone ‒ 80 days after planting – Sanibel, 90 days after planting – Paroli, 95 days after planting –Bazalia, 100 days after planting – Medison, Bernina, Donata. By distribution of varieties by predicted high content of phytonutrients there were bred varieties with red skin and creamy flesh – Bazalia and Sanibel, by high content with yellow flesh – Baltic Rosa and moderate content with white flesh – Oleksandrit, Fotynia, Ricarda. Introduction of new varieties with certain high adaptive potential of storability and content of bioactive compounds in potatoes will provide growth of potato production in the conditions of the northeast forest-steppe and increase its competitiveness in the domestic and foreign markets and will solve the problem of year-round consumption of fresh quality products.

The aim of the article is to establish the optimal sowing density of soybean plants depending on the maturity group of the variety to obtain consistently high yields. For this purpose, new varieties of soybeans Siverka, Medison and Sihaliia were taken for research, which differ not only in the duration of vegetation, but also in morphological characteristics. The object of the research is the process of forming soybean yield depending on the variety and standing density. The subject of the research is the varieties: early-ripening Siverka from the Institure of Agriculture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine (NAAS), year of registration - 2013, plant growth type - intermediate; middle-early Medison from Hyland seeds: it has been in the Register of the varieties of Ukraine from 2008; type of growth - indeterminate; middle-ripening Sihaliia fro Dunai Agro, which was brought in the Register of the varieties of Ukraine in 2014, type of growth - indeterminate; seeding rates of 600, 700 and 800 thousand per ha; soybean grain yield. The forerunner in the experiments was winter wheat. Soil preparation consisted of stubble peeling and fallow plowing. Before sowing cultivation with harrowing was conducted. Sowing was carried out at a time when the soil at thr depth of 10 cm warms up to 100C in the usual row manner with a row spacing of 15 cm to the depth of 4-5 cm. Crops care laid in carring out preemergence and two post-emergence harrowings. Studies have shown that soybean yields depended on the variety and density of plants. Thus, on average over the years of research, the yield in the variety Siverka varied from 2.01 t per ha at a density of 800 thousand pieces per ha and decreased as it thickened to 2.26 t per ha at a density of 600 thousand pieces per ha. In the Medison variety, the yield ranged from 2.18 t per ha at a density of 600 thousand units per ha to 2.41 t per ha at a density of 700 thousand units per ha. In the Sihaliia variety, the yield varied from 2.28 t per ha at a density of 600 thousand pieces per ha to 2.50 t per ha at a density of 800 thousand pieces per ha. The maximum yield for the years of research (2.09-2.39 t per ha) the variety of Siverka formed at a density of 600 thousand pieces per ha. In the Medison variety the highest yield (2.31-2.52 t per ha) was obtained at a standing density of 700 thousand pieces per ha. The yield of the Sihaliia variety depended to a greater extent on the weather and climatic conditions of the year. Thus, under drier conditions in 2017, the highest yield of the variety (2.44 t per ha) was formed at a density of 700 thousand pieces per ha. Under more favorable conditions, the highest yield was obtained at a density of 800 thousand pieces per ha - 2.51-2.69 t per ha. Depending on the weather and climatic conditions of the years of research, the highest yields of all varieties were obtained under favorable conditions in 2019 - 2.27-2.56 t per ha. Under drier and cooler conditions in 2017, the yield of all varieties was lower by 0.13-0.41 t per ha. Thus, in the conditions of the north-eastern part of the forest-steppe of Ukraine, in order to obtain a high soybean yield, it is necessary to take a differentiated approach to the choice of the optimal standing density depending on the maturity group of the variety. Optimal conditions for the formation of maximum productivity of early-ripening soybean variety Siverka were created in the agrophytocenosis at densities of 600 thousand per ha, for medium-early variety Medison - 700 thousand per ha, and for medium-ripening variety Sihaliia - 700-800 thousand pieces per ha.

AbstractIn the north-western Himalaya, the distribution of modem glaciers and snowlines in the Ladakh and Zanskar Ranges adjacent to the Indus River valley suggests comparable climatic conditions prevail in the two ranges. Similarly, the positions of terminal moraines and reconstructed equilibrium-line altitudes (ELAs) indicate equivalent magnitudes of Neoglacial and Late Glacial advances in both ranges. However, the terminal positions and reconstructed ELAs from the late Pleistocene maximum advances are at least 400 m lower in the Ladakh Range than in the nearby Zanskar Range. These differences do not appear to reflect either climatic or tectonic controls. Rather, they are caused by an unusual bedrock configuration in the Zanskar Range, where vertical strata of indurated sandstones and conglomerates, and narrow steep-walled canyons cut through them, created a bulwark that effectively precluded significant down-valley advance. Without recognition of this physical impedance to glacial advance, uncritical reconstructions would greatly overestimate the altitude of the ELA in the Zanskar Range.

The forest belt of the KuznetskyAlatau eastern macroslope consists of two subunits, namely the boreal-montane and the hemiboreal (sub)belts. In the upper one, the tall-herb communities of the class Mulgedio-Aconitetea are formed in place of the climax fir (Abiessibirica) forest. If being subject to regular mowing or grazing, these tall-herb communities are replaced by the «true» meadows of the ass. Trifoliopratensis—Alchemilletum vulgaris, order Arrhenatheretalia, whereas forest meadows of the ass. Trollioasiaticae—Poetumsibiricae replace the mixed forest composed of Pinussibirica, Piceaobovata, Betula pendula and a few of Larixsibirica in the lower subbelt. With the anthropogenic pressure increase, the «true» meadows of the ass. Filipenduloulmariae—Alchemilletum vulgaris and then of the ass. Potentilloanserinae–Alchemilletum vulgaris (Arrhenatheretalia) represent the next two digression stages, respectively. Forest meadows of the ass. Hesperidosibiricae—Poetumsibiricae, similar to those of the forest-steppe belt, are formed on dry sunny slopes in the bottom part of the hemiboreal belt.

Increasing production and improving the quality of garlic products is an important production problem. Under the conditions of the vertical zonality of the North Caucasus with varying agroecological conditions, the yield of this crop largely depends on the technology of cultivation and the level of its intensity. Important factors determining the yield and quality of garlic products are varieties adapted to these agro-climatic conditions, quality planting material, cultivation technology that meets the requirements of the crop and the agro-climatic conditions of the region. Currently, the potential productivity of the varieties used in the republic is realized only by 30-40 percent. This is due to the insufficient development of technologies for their cultivation, taking into account the specific environmental conditions of the region. In this regard, research aimed at studying the basic laws of the formation of yield and product quality varieties of garlic is a pressing issue.

This paper describes for the first time the chromosome set of stone marten in the North Caucasus from two disconnected points. The karyotype did not show polymorphism, both in number and morphology of autosomes and heterochromosomes. In a double set contains 38 chromosomes. In addition, new data on distribution based on the cadastral map, which is compiled on karyologically dated material, taking into account the altitudinal-belt structure of mountain landscapes, is presented. Also, new materials on the dynamics of numbers taking into account the habitat, as well as current trends of anthropogenic changes in the structure of the stone marten habitat in the northern macro slope of the Central Caucasus. The study showed that stone marten is a very plastic species and can inhabit the territory of the northern macro slope of the Central Caucasus and that, in the presence of food and suitable shelters in almost all biotopes, including anthropogenic. The number of stone marten in the study area is highest in the forest-steppe and subalpine zones.

Increasing the production and quality of garlic yield is an important agricultural challenge. In the varying agro-ecological conditions of the North Caucuses, the yield of this crop largely depends on the planting technology and the level of its intensity. Important factors that determine the quality of the garlic yield are the use of varieties adapted to these agro-climatic conditions, high-quality planting materials and agricultural technology that meets the requirements of the crop, and the agro-climatic conditions of the region. At present, the potential productivity of varieties used in the Republic is only 30-40 percent. This is due to the insufficient development of planting technologies that take into account the specific ecological conditions of the region. This study examines the factors regulating the yield and quality of garlic varieties. Keywords: garlic, fertilizers, planting schemes, variety, planting material, vegetation

The purpose of this article is to highlight the possibilities of successful grape growing based on the use of agro-climatic resources of the Eastern forest-steppe of Ukraine, in particular, the relevant areas of Kharkiv region. Main material. Attention is drawn to the needs to intensify research and practical activities on the cultivation of grapes in the region. In the agricultural sector of Ukraine interest in cultivating grapes is growing in more in northern areas, than in its traditional distribution area. An urgent task is a more thorough study of agro-climatic conditions, clarifi cation of agro-clima tic zoning of this culture and the development of practical recommendations. This is especially true of the Eastern forest-steppe of Ukraine and its individual areas, including the northern part of Kharkiv region. This industry, judging by the success of farms and individual economies, can be highly profi table throughout the region but with some reservations. Currently, one of the problems of viticulture is to obtain suffi cient yield to supply the population. For this purpose, the author identifi es the features of the natural conditions of the region. Clarifi cation of agro-climatic features of the territory can be considered as a multi-stage task of agro-climatic zoning at diff erent levels. The Eastern forest-steppe region should be considered as part of a large agroecosystem, occupying a signifi cant place in the forest-steppe zone of Ukraine. Of particular interest are the climatic indicators, the assessment of which allows to justify the grape culture management. These indicators are grouped together. The most important of them are temperature, humidity, light conditions and features of the winter period. Distribution of rainfall (fl ow of water) in the phases of grapes development during the active growing season is also important. It is also necessary to pay a???? ention to the use of other indicators. Most of them are closely related to the hydrothermal coeffi cient (HTC) - the simplest and most informative indicator. It should be added that using special agricultural techniques cultivation of certain grape varieties can be possible in the north-east of Ukraine. Conclusions. The study of suitable forest-steppe agrometeorological regions in Kharkiv region for growing grapes in natural conditions continues to be relevant. This difficult task requires a lot of effort and involvement of specialists.

Within the last 60 years in the region studied the joint inhabitance zone of I. ricinus and I. persulcatus displaced in the North-East direction and the D. reticulatus natural habitat significantly expanded to the North- West. These regional changes depend on the temperature rise of climate, the decrease of precipitation and change of species and age of afforestation. Decay of epidemiologic stress of natural foci of the tick borne encephalitis, Lyme disease, and strengthening the epizootologic valency of foci of pyroplasmosis, nuttaliosis as well as epidemiologic f importance of natural foci of tularemia of meadowfield type would be expected in further expansion of the boundaries of I. ricinus, D. reticulatus natural habitat and contraction of the inhabitance zone of I. persulcatus on the territories cleared of the latter species.
