AbstractThe existence of Indonesian with English as a science advocate in the global era has an important role in language development. The role to obtain, learn and use language as a means of communication, and at the same time as a social symbol of humanity. The role and context of Indonesian and global global era with the swift flow of globalization will have an impact on the development and acceleration of economic growth, science and technology. New concepts and terms in growth and technology (science and technology) directly indirectly enrich the Indonesian repertoire. Not seeing anything useful, globally and universally, English not only allows us to communicate and interact with everyone in the world, but also can change our lives for the better.

This paper suggests a simulation model to investigate how science and technology fuel economic growth. This model is built upon a synthesis of technological capabilities represented by national innovation systems. This paper gathers data of papers and patents for 183 countries between 1999 and 2003, as well as GDP and population for 2003. These data show a strong correlation between science, technology and income. Three simulation exercises are performed. Feeding our algorithm with data for population, patents and scientific papers, we obtain the world income distribution. These results support our conjecture on the role of science and technology as sources of the wealth of nations.

ABSTRAKBahasa adalah salah satu alat yang digunakan masyarakat untuk berkomunikasi. Bahasa selalu mengalami perkembangan dari waktu ke waktu. Bahasa merupakan salah satu kekhasan yang dimiliki oleh suatu negara dan untuk mencerminkan negara tersebut. Pada era globalisasi seperti saat ini informasi mudah sekali diakses terutama pada media online. Banyak informasi-informasi dari luar yang masuk ke negara menggunakan bahasa asing terutama di Indonesia. Bahasa asing yang kebanyakan digunakan yaitu Bahasa Inggris. Karena Bahasa Inggris merupakan bahasa internasional, sehingga mempunyai peran penting dalam ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi. Walaupun ada bahasa internasional tetapi sebagai warga negara seharusnya tetap mempertahankan dan mengembangkan bahasa Indonesia. Karena bahasa Indonesia merupakan ciri khas dari negara Indonesia. Bahasa Inggris memang bahasa internasional yang harus dipelajari. Tetapi bukan berarti melupakan bahasa Indonesia yang menjadi ciri khas dan alat pemersatu bangsa. Ilmu pengetahuan yang ada bisa dikembangkan dengan bahasa Indonesia, karena tidak semua masyarakat mengetahui bahasa Inggris. Hal tersebut bisa membantu memudahkan masyarakat dalam mempelajari ilmu pengetahuan dan sebagai usaha untuk melestarikan bahasa Indonesia.Kata Kunci: Bahasa Indonesia; Era Global; Ilmu PengetahuanABSTRACTLanguage is one of the tools used to communicate with the community. The foreign language most used Language, namely United Kingdom. Because the language of the United Kingdom is the international language, so it has an important role in science and technology. Although there are international language but as citizens should maintain and develop the languages of Indonesia. Because the language of Indonesia is typical of the State of Indonesia. The language of the United Kingdom is indeed an international language should be learned. But that does not mean forgetting the Indonesia language that characterizes and unifying the nation. Existing knowledge can be developed with the language of Indonesia, because not all people know the language of the United Kingdom. <p>BAHASA INDONESIA:</p><p>Tulisan ini berusaha memotret pemikiran pendidikan moral menurut Nasih Ulwan dan relevansinya dalam menjawab problematika manusia modern. Dalam perspektif Nasih Ulwan, pendidikan moral merupakan serangkaian prinsip dasar moral dan keutamaan sikap serta watak (tabiat) yang harus dimiliki dan dijadikan kebiasaan oleh anak sejak masa pemula hingga ia menjadi seorang mukallaf, yakni siap mengarungi lautan kehidupan. Di era modern, persoalan yang muncul adalah persoalan fisik dan psikis. Persoalan fisik mengarah pada pengkondisian manusia sebagai objek dari segala produk iptek. Sementara itu persoalan psikis mengarah pada pendangkalan nilai-nilai moral-spiritual akibat dari dominasi produk iptek modern yang skuler. Salah satu problem mendasar di negeri ini adalah krisis moral dan kepercayaan. Krisis tersebut berawal dari ketidakjujuran aparatur Negara dalam menjalankan amanahnya sebagai pemegang kebijakan. Perilaku korupsi dan sejenisnya adalah cermin dari sikap suka bohong, suka mencuri, kenakalan dan penyimpangan. Oleh karena itu ajaran moral Nasih Ulwan amat relevan jika diterapkan di negeri ini demi menjawab problem krisis moral dan kepercayaan yang terjadi.</p><p> </p><p>ENGLISH:</p><p>This paper concerned in moral education thought based on Nasih Ulwan and its relevance in answering the problems of human modern. From Ulwan’s perspective, moral education is a set of moral basic principle and the primacy of attitude and character (nature) which has to be owned and used as habit by children since they are young until become mukallaf, is ready to face the world. In modern era, the issue which emerges is a physical and psychic problem. Physical issue leads to conditioning a human as an object of all the products of science and technology. Meanwhile, psychic problem leads to the silting up of moral-spiritual value caused by the dominance of modern science and technology products. One of the fundamental problems in this country is a moral crisis and faithful. The crisis started from the dishonesty of country’s apparatures in carrying out their mandate as the policy controller. The corruption, and its relation, is the reflective of dishonesty, thieving, delinquency, and irregularities. Therefore, moral learning by Ulwan is very relevant if applied in this country in order to answer the moral crisis problem and trust which is occurred.</p>

Abstract The development of a low-carbon economy is an inevitable choice for the world to coordinate industrial economic growth and environmental issues actively. At the same time, science and technology are the cornerstones for the development of a low-carbon economy. The equipment manufacturing industry (EMI) in China is known as the base of the low-carbon sector. Still, the research of coordinating industry carbon emission and economic growth from the perspective of science and technology is insufficient. For this reason, this work comprehensively analyzed the economic development and carbon emission of China’s EMI. The DEA (data envelopment analysis) Malmquist method was used to measure the transformation efficiency of scientific and technological achievements of the EMI from 2009 to 2017. The results can show that: (1) the economic benefits of China’s EMI were increasing year by year, but the growth rate is declining. With the optimization of industrial structure, the energy consumption and carbon emission of the industry have improved, but there is still a large gap between different sectors; (2) the achievement transformation of EMI decreases by year due to the influence of technological progress efficiency; and (3) in terms of sector data efficiency in 2017, there is redundancy in the investment of general EMI (B2) and special EMI (B3). This work can provide a reference for the development of countries dominated by industry and to jointly realize the sustainable development of the world economy.

AbstractObjectiveAgriculture designed to make best use of landscape and to be maximally sustainable would also provide food of the highest nutritional and gastronomic standards, and would inevitably employ a great many people. Thus it would solve the world's food problems, and its principal social problem, at a stroke. But agriculture in practice is designed for a quite different purpose – to generate wealth, in the cause of ‘economic growth’. The pressing need is not for more science and technology, but to recognise the true cause of the problems and to re-think priorities.ConclusionWe could all be well fed. Indeed, everyone in the world who is ever likely to be born could be fed to the highest standards of gastronomy as well as of nutrition until humanity itself comes to an end. We already have most of the necessary technique – perhaps all that is needed. We could always do with more excellent science but we need not depend, as we are often told from on high, on the next technological fix. The methods that can provide excellent food would also create a beautiful environment, with plenty of scope for other creatures, and agreeable and stable agrarian economies with satisfying jobs for all.In reality, in absolute contrast, we have created a world in which almost a billion are chronically undernourished; another billion are horribly overnourished, so that obesity and diabetes are epidemic, and rising; a billion live on less than two dollars a day; and a billion live in urban slums – a figure set to increase and probably at least to double over the next half century; while other species are disappearing so fast that biologists speak of mass extinction.

 Multicultural and multilingual situation in Indonesia lead to language contact that allows borrowing among the languages. The borrowing of local languages, especially the cultural vocabulary, needs to be encouraged in Indonesia language development since the local languages are ‘seedlings’ for the Indonesian vocabulary. Moreover, the rapid growth of science and technology needs to be balanced with the growth of words or terms. This paper discusses the contribution of the local languages in Indonesia to Indonesian vocabulary, especially in the Indonesian Comprehensive Dictionary, the Fourth Edition. Besides, the domain of the words borrowed and the changes occurred, either the form or the meaning, are discussed as well.
