The state and condition of Indonesian teachers have gradually changed to a better nuance due to the compensation of teacher certification program (TCP). The program has conceivably raised the status of the teachers in social and economic lives. However, the impact of the program on the improvement of overall teacher‘s quality—teaching performance as mandated by Teacher and Lecturer Law remains questionable, and the big question is what and how teachers perceive and act in response to the objective of the program. The program aims not only to increase the teachers‘ salary, but also to improve the quality of their teaching performance based on the teacher standard competence, that is pedagogical, personality, social, and professional competences. Therefore, the study explore and describe certified EFL teachers‘ perceptions concerning benefits of the program on thier social and economic lives, improvement and quality of their teaching practices; perceptions on the ways management ran the program; and expectations for better services of the TCP management.

Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam which has a function of faith, social and economic functions. Muslims who can pay zakat are required to give at least 2.5 per cent of their wealth. The problem of poverty prevalent in disadvantaged regions because of the difficulty of access to information and communication led to a gap that is so high in wealth and resources. The instrument of zakat provides a paradigm in the achievement of equitable wealth distribution and healthy circulation. Zakat potentially offers a better life and improves the quality of human being. There is a human quality improvement not only in economic terms but also in spiritual terms such as improving religiousity. This study aims to examine the role of zakat to alleviate humanitarian issues in disadvantaged regions such as Sijunjung, one of zakat beneficiaries and impoverished areas in Indonesia. The researcher attempted a Cibest method to capture the impact of zakat beneficiaries before and after becoming a member of Zakat Community Development (ZCD) Program in material and spiritual value. The overall analysis shows that zakat has a positive impact on disadvantaged regions development and enhance the quality of life of the community. There is an improvement in the average of mustahik household incomes after becoming a member of ZCD Program. Cibest model demonstrates that material, spiritual, and absolute poverty index decreased by 10, 5, and 6 per cent. Meanwhile, the welfare index is increased by 21 per cent. These findings have significant implications for developing the quality of life in disadvantaged regions in Sijunjung. Therefore, zakat is one of the instruments to change the status of disadvantaged areas to be equivalent to other areas.

The role of teacher professional learning (TPL) in assisting teachers to teach pronunciation in English as a second/foreign language (ESL/EFL) contexts has received little attention. The study reported in this paper extends this line of research by investigating how six EFL teachers at a Vietnamese university transform and integrate the pronunciation pedagogical knowledge they received from a TPL workshop into teaching practice. It then examines the teachers’ perceptions of the impact of the workshop on their knowledge gains and pronunciation teaching skills. Data were collected from seven lesson plans designed by the teachers, video recordings of 24 subsequent classroom observations, and six individual semi-structured interviews. The study adopted a content-based approach to qualitative data analysis. The findings show that the teachers were all able to translate TPL into classroom practice of pronunciation teaching. The findings further show that workshops designed and implemented in accordance with research-based TPL principles can be effective for promoting teachers’ knowledge of pronunciation pedagogy and refining their pronunciation teaching skills. The study has implications for ESL/EFL teachers’ professional development in pronunciation teaching.

The study focuses on prospective English as a foreign language (EFL) teachers' perspectives on the use of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) resources in teaching English as a foreign language context. In addition to examining prospective teachers' perceptions, the similarities and differences in their perceptions and factors affecting their beliefs about using CALL resources will be addressed. The study aimed to identify the prospective EFL teachers' perceptions of their existing skills to integrate CALL into their future professional practices. The perceived factors that will facilitate and inhibit their future teaching practices by using CALL resources and their expectations from the teacher education program in terms of providing the necessary training to use CALL resources in their teaching practices were examined. The perceived benefits and challenges of using CALL in EFL teaching contexts will be addressed from the participants' perspectives. Finally, the study provides implications for further research in addition to recommendations for EFL teacher education programs.

Education institutions around the world have seen rapid advances in ICT (Information Communication Technology) within the classroom since the mid 90s. Kuwait has realized the need for a high quality education system, and has seen huge increases in government funding for schools over the last 10 years. However, Kuwaits spending on technology and ICT has attracted little research regarding the impact it has had on students and teachers. For this reason, this study aimed to discover how useful ICT is within classes in Kuwait. The research used qualitative research to focus on 14 teachers from three different primary schools in Kuwait. The study focused on the amount of ICT that is used within Kuwaiti schools and the quality of ICT training provided for teachers. The study found that teachers lacked sufficient training in ICT usage as a teaching aid. Findings also revealed that programs provided by the primary schools in Kuwait were too basic and that further investment is required

In the realm of language education, technology has reshaped the state of the teaching/learning framework in different ways and there is no surprise how a number of classes around the world have now turned from chalk and board classes to technology-based ones. However, whether teachers adopt or reject technology in their teaching depends primarily on the way they perceive it. Consequently, the current paper intends to capture the various perceptions of English as a foreign language (EFL) teachers from the department of English at Chadli Bendjedid University, El Tarf (Algeria) towards the use and the integration of technology in their teaching practices. It also aspires to answer the question: to what extent is technology used in their teaching? In order to collect data for this study; a questionnaire was administered to ten teachers from the above-cited department. Although the findings revealed that all the participants have a positive attitude towards technology; they all face different barriers that impede them from integrating it.

This study aims to determine the impact of the (QoS) variable on the competitive advantage variable. To achieve this, the study relied on the quality of service in terms of reliability, responsiveness, flexibility, safety and connectivity and its competitive advantage in terms of cost, quality, flexibility, and delivery. The study tried to answer the questions of the problem, the most important of which is the quality of service in the organization in question? What is the level of competitive advantage offered by the organization in question? Is there a relationship between quality of service and competitive advantage in the organization in question? The study was conducted in the General Company for the distribution of petroleum products / Central Euphrates Distribution Authority / Babel Branch. The questionnaire was used to obtain the necessary data, as well as personal interviews. The opinions of 150 workers were analyzed in addition to 35 customers. The simple correlation coefficient was used to measure the correlation between the variables and the (T) test to determine the significance of the simple and multiple regression equations and also to use the analysis of the (Anova). The simulation method was used to generate data (views) of all the resolution sections that were pre-designed according to the five-dimensional Likert scale for the sample size (n=150). The study sought to achieve a set of objectives, the most important of which is to identify the relationship between quality of service, competitive advantage and the impact of quality of service on the competitive advantage, to make some recommendations that can contribute to improving the status of the organization in question. The study concluded with a number of conclusions, the most important of which is the organization's interest in responding quickly to the customer's needs when requesting service, noting the importance of the organization to provide most of the needs of the citizens of fuel on demand despite the difficult conditions of the country. The most important recommendations included the organization's interest in quickly responding to customers' requests, so it is important for them to maintain and develop these gains.

The implementation of teacher certification is expected to have an impact on improving the quality of learning and the quality of education on an ongoing basis. But the fact that often happens that the certification allowance often does not work with the initial goal for improving teacher performance. If you carefully examine the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 14 Year 2005 regarding teachers and lecturers, it will be seen that the law contains an increase in the welfare of teaching staff which is characterized by functional benefits, special allowances, and professional teaching allowances. Thus, this study aims to describe the performance of certified and uncertified teachers and find out whether there is a difference in the performance of certified teachers and uncertified teachers at the Yayasan Darul Falah Pajarakan Probolinggo. The results of research was found that; (1) the performance of teachers in the Darul Falah Pajarakan Probolinggo foundation is classified as good with a high categorization of 11.7%, a high of 82.3%, and a moderate of 5.8%, and (2) There is a difference between the performance of certified teachers with the performance of teachers who are not certified in the foundation fostered by Darul Falah Pajarakan Probolinggo as proven by the calculated F value of 13,147 with a significance value of 0.001 is 0.05.

ABSTRAK Sungai Wulan adalah sungai yang melewati tiga kabupaten yaitu Grobogan, Kudus dan Demak. Sungai Wulan yang terletak di Kabupaten Demak, mempunyai dua percabangan yaitu Wulan Lama dan Wulan Baru. Sungai ini digunakan oleh masyarakat untuk berbagai keperluan seperti kegiatan perikanan, domestik dan transportasi. Di hilir sungai juga terdapat daerah mangrove. Dampak dari kegiatan manusia tersebut kemungkinan akan berpengaruh terhadap kualitas perairan, hal tersebut diduga berdampak terhadap keberadaan fitoplankton serta kandungan klorofil-a. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Maret – April 2016 bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan klorofil-a, fitoplankton dan status perairan berdasarkan kandungan klorofil-a dan kelimpahan fitoplankton. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survei lapangan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di tiga lokasi yang berbeda yaitu dekat pemukiman (Stasun 1), Wulan Baru (Stasiun 2), dan Wulan Lama (Stasiun 3). Analisis Kruskal-Wallis untuk mengetahui perbedaan kandungan klorofil-a antar stasiun dan analisis Cluster untuk mengetahui kemiripan berdasarkan komunitas fitoplankton dan variabel lingkungan antar stasiun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kandungan klorofil-a berkisar antara 0,4955 - 1,3527 mg/l. Tidak ada perbedaan yang nyata kandungan klorofil-a per stasiun pada taraf kepercayaan 95% (0,05). Kelimpahan fitoplankton berkisar antara 9.458 – 12.422 ind/l. Fitoplankton yang didapatkan terdiri dari 35 genera yang terdiri dari 5 kelas yaitu Bacillariophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Dynophyceae, Chlorophyceae dan Euglenophyceae. Stasiun 2 dan Stasiun 3 mempunyai kemiripan komunitas fitoplankton dan variabel lingkungan dibandingkan dengan Stasiun 1. Status perairan Sungai Wulan berdasarkan kandungan klorofil-a tergolong oligotrofik dan berdasarkan kelimpahan fitoplankton tergolong mesotrofik.Kata Kunci: Klorofil-a; Fitoplankton; Sungai Wulan  ABSTRACTWulan River is a river that passes through three regencies there are Grobogan, Kudus and Demak. Wulan River located in Demak Regency, has two branches there are Wulan Lama and Wulan Baru. This river has been used a lot by the residents for many activities such as fishery activities, domestic and transportation. There is also mangrove area in the downstream of Wulan River. The impact of those human activities presumably will affect the quality of the waters, it is also presumed to impact the existence of phytoplankton and the contents of chorophyl-a. This research was conducted on March - April 2016 aimed to know the contents of chlorophyl-a, the type and abundance of phytoplankton and the status of waters based on the content of chlorophyll-a and the abundance of phytoplankton. This research used survey method and purposive a sampling teqnique. The sampling was conducted in three different locations, that is in the nearby people residence (Station 1), Wulan Baru (Station 2) and Wulan Lama (Station 3). The Kruskal-Wallis analysis was used to determine differences of chlorophyll-a between the stations and Cluster analysis was used to determine similarity groups based on the phytoplankton community and environment variables between stations. The results showed chlorophyll-a range between 0,4955 - 1,3527 mg/l. There is no significant difference between the content of chlorophyll-a per station at the level of 95% (P < 0,05). The abundance of phytoplankton ranged between 9.458 – 12.422 ind/l. The phytoplankton was obtained consisting of 35 genus consisted of 5 classes, namely Bacillariophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Dynophyceae, Chlorophyceae and Euglenophyceae. Both Station 2 and Station 3 had a more similarity in the community of phytoplankton and the environment variable compared to the Station 1. The status waters of the Wulan Rivers based on the contents chlorophyll-a was classified into oligotrophic and based on the abundance of phytoplankton was classified into mesotrophic. Keywords: Chlorophyl-a; Phytoplankton; Wulan River
