Anemia is a condition in which the number of red blood cells or the amount of hemoglobin is low. Red blood cells contain hemoglobin protein that it enables them to carry oxygen from the lungs and deliver it to all parts of the body. A study conducted to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding prevention of anemia among adolescent girls in a selected senior secondary schools of Bharatpur. During the study, 60 adolescence girls were selected for them pretest is administered for assessing knowledge. After evaluation pretest score was showing lower knowledge regarding prevention of anemia then structured teaching program on knowledge of prevention from anemia administered after one week post test conducted by using same questionnaire this time girls shows increased knowledge regarding prevention of anemia and they are following healthy food habits for the prevention of anemia. Results showing adequate knowledge various methods are used for measuring the variables such as mean, mode, and standard deviation for significance of demographic variables chi square test were used there is no significant demographic variables.Int. Hemoglobin is the red pigment-protein contained in red blood cells. The function of hemoglobin is to transport oxygen from the lungs and in the bloodstream to be carried to the tissues. Hemoglobin can increase by increasing the intake of iron in the body. One way to increase hemoglobin can be done by giving method Infused Water Dates. Infused water is a drink consisting of plain water with fresh fruit added and soaking or settling together for a certain time. The making of infused water is carried out by soaking for a period of 0 to 12 hours, so that the infused water becomes a liquid medium that carries more nutrients than ordinary water and will be more easily absorbed by cells and distributed throughout the body (Sidauruk, 2018 ). In several studies, it is stated that dates can increase hemoglobin levels in the blood. Where dates contain iron, vitamin A, vitamin C, protein to form red blood cells. With the method, Infused Water the date palm water becomes alkaline so that it can accelerate the absorption process in the body. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of dates infused water provision to increase hemoglobin levels of midwifery adolescent girls at Medan Health Polytechnic in 2020. This research was quasi-experimental study using the One Group Pretest-Posttest Without Control Design approach. The sample in this study were 20 respondents of midwifery adolescent girls from Medan Health Polytechnic, using the technique of purposive sampling. The statistical test used wa the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test because the data was not normal. The results of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test obtained the value of P-Value = 0.001. So it can be concluded that the date infused water  is effective in increasing hemoglobin levels of midwifery adolescent girls at Medan Health Polytechnic in 2020.   Keywords: Dates Infused Water, Increased Hemoglobin Levels, Girls Adolescent

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a challenging problem as the psychological changes which occur in adolescent period are much more stressful and complex. Premenstrual syndrome also known as premenstrual tension (PMT) is a collection of emotional symptoms, with or without physical symptoms, related to menstrual cycle of girls. Menstruation is a normal physiological cycle or process in all females of the reproductive age group. However some women, girls feel or affected by menstrual problem. Among those, PMS is one of the disorder and it is mainly due to hormonal imbalance in the body. Yoga which helps to harmonize the mind and breath with the body through various breathing techniques, yoga posture (asanas) and meditation which also helps in relieving pain. Yoga, tailored to chronic low back pain which helps to produce significant reduction in pain and depression. Several yoga poses helps to ease PMS and also help the mind and body to adapt with stress, anxiety and depression making to feel relaxed and calm, as well as enabling us to cope with psychological symptoms of PMS. The study was conducted with the aim to evaluate the effectiveness of structured teaching programme (STP) regarding selected yoga techniques to relieve the symptoms of PMS among adolescent girls. Researcher adopted an evaluatory approach with pre-experimental one group pre-test and post-test design in the study. Self- structured knowledge questionnaire was used to assess the knowledge among adolescent girls regarding selected yoga technique to relieve the symptoms of PMS. Split half method was used to check the Reliability of the Tool and the tool was found reliable ( r= 0.88). probability simple random sampling techniques was used to select 100 adolescent girls from 3 high school. Findings revealed that the post-test knowledge score (26.49±2.48) was higher than pre-test knowledge score (10.25±2.46). The calculated ‘t’value in knowledge (51.34 p<0.05). The study found significant association between knowledge and demographical variables. Study concludes that structured teaching programme was effective in improving the knowledge of adolescent girls regarding Yoga techniques to relieve the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome.

Background: In Africa, menstrual hygiene and its practices are still clouded by taboos and sociocultural restrictions, ignorance and illiteracy so that menstruation is viewed in a base manner, and considered dirty and filthy, which requires the isolation of the woman from some normal daily activities. Thus, menstrual hygiene involves the conditions and activities that promote and preserve health during menstruation. This study assessed the awareness of menstrual hygiene and factors affecting its practice among adolescent girls in two selected senior secondary schools in Ogun state, Nigeria. Method: The study utilized quantitative cross-sectional survey design. Purposive sampling technique was used in selecting 150 respondents for the study in the two selected senior secondary schools. Descriptive statistics, correlation and T-test fixed at 0.05 significance level was conducted to give statistical responses to the research hypotheses using SPSS version 21. Result: The result showed that adolescent girls in Babcock University High School (BUHS) and Remo High School (RHS) had advanced knowledge of menstrual hygiene and they had moderate practices of menstrual hygiene, but there were factors like religion and lack of conducive facilities affecting the effective practice among adolescent girls. Furthermore, respondents’ knowledge on menstrual hygiene had no significant positive relationship with practices of menstrual hygiene among adolescent girls in private schools and those in public schools (r = .022, p > .01). There was no significant difference between adolescent girls in private and public schools on practice of menstrual hygiene. Conclusion: Adolescent girls in BUHS and RHS had advanced knowledge of menstrual hygiene but moderate menstrual hygiene practices. This may be as a result of factors such as religion and lack of conducive facilities that hinder the effective practice among adolescent girls as identified in the study. Among other recommendations, the school administrations are advised to provide more conducive and appealing facilities for adolescent girls to practise good menstrual hygiene.

Anemia is a condition in which the body has a small number of red blood cells, which are determined by hemoglobin levels. Anemia in pregnancy is a state of reduced red blood cells in the blood circulation or hemoglobin mass, where Hb levels below 11 gr% in trimesters I and II or Hb levels less than 10.5 gr% in trimester III. important for Midwifery Academy Students, in particular, to have adequate knowledge and understanding of anemia in pregnant women as their provision to interact with the community and meet clients. This study aims to describe the knowledge and understanding of Tahira Al Baeti Midwifery Academy students about anemia in pregnant women. This research uses descriptive research by participating in the Tahira Al Baeti midwifery Academy students level I and II, amounting to 42 students. The research instrument used was a questionnaire. Based on the questionnaire data it was found that the knowledge of the Tahirah al Baeti Midwifery Academy students about anemia in pregnant women was at a good level of knowledge for the second-level students (100%) compared to the first-level (50%). While the level of understanding of Tahirah Al Baeti Midwifery Academy students about anemia in pregnant women was 95.5% for second-level students and 50% for first-degree students. This is due to the level and length of the teaching and learning process supporting the level of knowledge and understanding. Knowledge and understanding possessed by Tahirah Al Baeti Midwifery Academy students about anemia in pregnant women is a pretty good category.
