The objective of the study was to find out the relationship between emotional intelligence and the decision-making of secondary school principals. The current study was descriptive and quantitative in nature, and a survey method was applied to collect the data.All the secondary school principals working in District Haveli and Punch were the population of the study. The instrument used was a self-developed questionnaire to collect the data. The questionnaire was used comprising of three parts. Part A of the questionnaire was used for demographic data, part B was used to measure emotional intelligence, and Part C of the questionnaire was utilized to measure the decision-making styles. The researcher collected data from all secondary school principals of both districts, District Haveli and District Bagh, including private and public school principals, using a universal sampling technique. Data were analyzed through SPSS by using Pearson's correlation analysis. It is inferred that a significant and strong positive relationship exists between emotional intelligence and decision-making styles of principals.

Secondary school principals in Ohio were surveyed regarding their reliance on formal and informal information for decision making and potential predictors of such reliance. The two types of reliance were treated as criterion variates in separate canonical analyses. In each case the predictor variate consisted of data from the following four variables: (a)perceptions of oneself as an instructional leader; (b) autonomy in decision making; (c) open-mindedness; and (d) prior research experience. Moderately high canonical correlations and a consistent pattern of predictor variate structure coefficients were observed in both analyses. The findings are important for understanding the use and non-use of evaluation results by principals.

Stakeholder involvement is critical in that it can enhance levels of ownership of the decisions made as well building trust between the governors and the governed. The purpose of the study was to investigate the influence principals’ involvement of students in decision making on student discipline in secondary schools, Kenya. The study sought to establish the areas of student involvement in decision making by secondary school principals and determine whether significant differences exist between reported incidences of student indiscipline based on the levels of student involvement in decision making in secondary schools. The study employed systems theory by Ludwig Bertalanffy which looks at organisations as systems. Schools are viewed as parts joined together by web of relationships both within and outside the school. Using a descriptive survey design with a target population of 354 secondary school principals, 300 teachers and 4602 student leaders, a sample of 118 principals and 1534 student leaders were sampled through stratified proportionate sampling. Questionnaires for principals and student leaders were used for the study. The return rate was 101 principals (85.6%) and 1433(93.4%) student leaders. Cross-tabulations were done to determine whether the mean occurrences of student indiscipline were different based on levels of principals’ involvement of students in decision making. The findings indicated that 94.1 per cent of principals involved students in decision making with varying degrees of involvement for student welfare. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) did not indicate significant differences between involvement in decision making and lowering of cases of drug and substance abuse, cases of arson and student suspension. The incidences of student indiscipline in those schools were low, as evidenced by lowered cases of arson factor that could be attributed to  students sense of ownership and feeling respected and recognised. The study concluded that involvement in decision making is a key driver to student’s discipline. The study could be replicated in a number of counties involving teachers and Board members as respondents. In addition, the study could be replicated using mixed methods with more inclination to the qualitative research.

Leadership is one of the most extensively discussed topics. Wherever there is management, the manager’s leadership characteristics and behavior related with these have great importance. At schools, it is more crucial to be able to effective than to be able to use authority. In these sense, a principal needs to unite teachers towards a goal and in order to achieve that, should have the necessary leadership characteristics. This article, aims to investigate teachers’ perspective of principals’ leadership characteristics and behavior. The samle derived from the capital city, Nicosia of North Cyprus. In order to determine the principals’ leadership characteristics and behavior both survey and interview methods were applied. Through data, the particular leadership characteristics and behavior have been examined. Findings suggest that, school principals’ leadership characteristics and behavior varies. The most common leadership characteristics and behaviors were coming up with new projects, openly stating requests, and giving importance to following procedurs. The behavior and leadership characteristics that came out the least common were risk taking, being able to positively handle criticism, and being flexible and openness to change. ÖzetLiderlik günümüzde en çok tartışılan konuların başında gelmektdedir. Yönetimin olduğu yerde yöneticinin sahip olduğu ve ortaya koyacağı liderlik davranış özellikleri büyük önem taşımaktadır. Okulda yönetim, yetki kullanmaktan çok, etkili olmayı gerektirmektedir. Liderlikte ise etkileme vardır. Bu bakımdan okul yöneticilerinin, okulu amaçlanan noktaya götürebilmeleri için öğretmenlerde amaç birlikteliği oluşturabilmek için liderlik özellikleri taşıması gerekmektedir.  Bu araştırma, Kuzey Kıbrıs’ta Lefkoşa merkezde bulunan ortaöğretim okullarında görev yapan müdürlerin, liderlik davranış özelliklerinin,  öğretmen algılarına göre belirlemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Okul müdürlerinin liderlik davranış özelliklerini belirleyebilmek amacıyla ölçme aracı olarak anket ve mülakat yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler ışığında hangi liderlik davranışlarını gösterdiklerini belirlemek hedeflenmiştir. Bulgular okul müdürlerinin liderlik davranış özelliklerinin farklılık gösterdiğini ortaya koymuştur. Müdürlerin en fazla ortaya koyduğu davranışlar arasında yeni proje üretme, açık şekilde talimat verme, kural ve prensiplere uymayı önemseme yer almaktadır. En düşük olarak öne çıkan liderlik davranışları ise risk alma, eleştirilere açık olma, esnek ve değişime açıklık özellikleridir.

The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of the integration of Al-Kort program in the development of decision-making and decision-making skills among high school principals in Riyadh city. The experimental approach was applied by the two experimental groups of secondary school principals in Riyadh, which are taught using Kurt's program, and the effectiveness of this study is based on the dependent variables of the achievement and decision making skills and the control group. On the variables related to educational achievement and decision-making skills of school principals. The content of two groups of high school principals in Riyadh has been enriched with skills-oriented activities in three areas of thinking derived from the CO program RT is: expanding the field of perception, organization, and problem solving. The results of the study showed a positive effect on the role of Al-Kort program (for high school principals in Riyadh) in the development of decision-making skills. The experimental group of the training program for the development of decision-making skills showed a positive difference of statistical significance in the experimental group (65%), The impact of the Quart program (for secondary principals in Riyadh) is reflected in raising the level of decision-making skills of students, expanding their perceptions, organizing their information, solving their problems, and making appropriate decisions. The study recommended the integration of the courteous program in the development of decision-making skills for secondary school principals to enhance the decision-making capacity, in addition to the need to hold courses, seminars and workshops for managers to introduce thinking skills and programs for their development and to provide a school environment that encourages them. The implementation of the Al-Kort program has led to the development of skills, the ability to make decisions and improve the level of academic attainment among high school principals in Riyadh. The impact of out-of-school training has had a clear impact, making training programs part of the daily trainees' practices in the various areas of human activity that require it.
