The various types of detective work that Black individuals and communities undertake enables them to collect evidence and knowledge and disseminate tactics for resistance. I first contextualize the advent of Black German detection in real life and then turn to fictional Black German detectives in literature and on television. In doing so, I explore the interconnectedness of Black German belonging—both real and imagined—through the act and art of detection. The earliest official, fictional Black German female detectives within these media, Anäis Schmitz and Fatou Fall, allow for an exploration of the intersectionality of race, cisgender, and heteronormative reproduction. Their introduction to this genre overlaps in the timing of their debut appearances (2019), but the characters contrast in terms of representation, due in part to the medium employed and to the racial positionality of their creators. Thus, I investigate how crime novels and crime television shows shift the representation and recognition of Black Germans but remain attuned to how institutional and historically anchored racist structures “frame” Black German belonging.

Soap ope ras, better known as electronic cinema or teledrama, play a major role in society in understanding this real or real life and plugging in frames / images of thought in the future. In preparing for a global era and an increasingly advanced industrial society and intense competition in the global market, Indonesian soap operas must be able to play its role. Along with the increasing number of private TV sets, quantitatively Indonesian soap operas experienced a very proud development and also gave a variety of nuances, however the quality of Indonesian soap operas has only recently developed. Indonesian soap operas must consider the elements of education, entertainment, the real problems of society and the way they are done, such as the DKI reborn Warkop film which has a classic feel but is still interesting as a television broadcast that is comedy and educating. Actually, if we want to emulate a very educational cartoon film such as Upin and Ipin, Shiva even though the results of neighboring state products contain a message of education and a very high moral message, Indonesian children love cartoon films like this, besides being funny, educating , raising local culture, and introducing the name of a particular place. Indonesian television shows are still dominated by shows that are beyond human reach. How much television is still mystical like in the Antv program, almost every day cannot be separated from mystical shows (Eyes of the Dark, Penetrating the inner eye, GGS and others).

Microbial communities drive diverse processes that impact nearly everything on this planet, from global biogeochemical cycles to human health. Harnessing the power of these microorganisms could provide solutions to many of the challenges that face society. However, naturally occurring microbial communities are not optimized for anthropogenic use. An emerging area of research is focusing on engineering synthetic microbial communities to carry out predefined functions. Microbial community engineers are applying design principles like top-down and bottom-up approaches to create synthetic microbial communities having a myriad of real-life applications in health care, disease prevention, and environmental remediation. Multiple genetic engineering tools and delivery approaches can be used to ‘knock-in' new gene functions into microbial communities. A systematic study of the microbial interactions, community assembling principles, and engineering tools are necessary for us to understand the microbial community and to better utilize them. Continued analysis and effort are required to further the current and potential applications of synthetic microbial communities.

Abstract The speech-language pathologist (SLP) working in the public schools has a wide variety of tasks. Educational preparation is not all that is needed to be an effective school-based SLP. As a SLP currently working in the capacity of a program coordinator, the author describes the skills required to fulfill the job requirements and responsibilities of the SLP in the school setting and advises the new graduate regarding the interview process and beginning a career in the public schools.

Current ambulatory technologies are highly relevant for neuropsychological assessment and treatment as they provide a gateway to real life data. Ambulatory assessment of cognitive complaints, skills and emotional states in natural contexts provides information that has a greater ecological validity than traditional assessment approaches. This issue presents an overview of current technological and methodological innovations, opportunities, problems and limitations of these methods designed for the context-sensitive measurement of cognitive, emotional and behavioral function. The usefulness of selected ambulatory approaches is demonstrated and their relevance for an ecologically valid neuropsychology is highlighted.

A description of two cases from my time as a school psychologist in the middle of the 1950s forms the background to the following question: Has anything important happened since then in psychological research to help us to a better understanding of how and why individuals think, feel, act, and react as they do in real life and how they develop over time? The studies serve as a background for some general propositions about the nature of the phenomena that concerns us in developmental research, for a summary description of the developments in psychological research over the last 40 years as I see them, and for some suggestions about future directions.
