As a result of the hostilities that are now taking place in the East Ukraine, the psychological and physical trauma of the combatants is increasingly being seen. Due to the fact that the processes of their adaptation and rehabilitation are delayed in time, we can get stuck with even greater and deeper psychological traumatization of people who have undergone a very high level of stress and returned from the combat zone. In our opinion, the use of both independent types of psychological assistance and their complex combination will contribute to the neutralization of traumatic material, complete processing, further elimination of the long-term consequences of stressful influences in combatants, their adaptation to social life and the restoration of mental health.

As a result of the hostilities that are now taking place in the East of our country, the psychological and physical trauma of the combatants is increasingly being seen. Due to the fact that the processes of their adaptation and rehabilitation are delayed in time, we can get stuck with even greater and deeper psychological traumatization of people who have undergone a very high level of stress and returned from the combat zone. Questions regarding a more thorough study and improvement of methods for the rehabilitation of combatants can be attributed to a rather urgent problem of modern Ukraine. We consider it important to draw the attention of scientists and practitioners to the analysis of the rehabilitation potential and finding an effective combination of approaches and methods in the provision of psychological assistance and rehabilitation measures with combatants who have undergone the remote consequences of stressful influences. The use of dolphin therapy for the rehabilitation of combatants today is a rather unique method in Ukraine. Among the disorders that cause the need for rehabilitation, scientists include: disability, alcoholism, drug addiction, loss of social status, work, housing, loved ones, crime. All this has a very negative effect on people, and as a result, quite often our citizens cannot cope alone with the problems in which they find themselves for objective or subjective reasons. Summing up, we came to the conclusion that Ukrainian society needs qualified rehabilitation activities of highly qualified specialists, which are carried out in special rehabilitation centers.

Poverty and income inequality have increased in the UK since the 1970s. Poverty and mental ill-health are closely associated and disadvantage can have long-term consequences. In addition, the recent recession and austerity measures have had a detrimental effect on people with mental health problems and the mental health of the population. Mental health services can play a role in addressing the problems of poverty and inequality.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has put an unprecedented burden to world health, economy and social life with possible long-term consequences. The velocity and mass of this infection pandemic had already overwhelmed every robust health care system in the world. The evidence pertaining to this novel infection pandemic is evolving, so are the challenges in terms of adequate preparedness and response. In this review, we enumerate the strategic and operational domains and build a functional framework for the management of hospital mass infection incidents due to COVID-19 and similar future pandemics. This functional framework could assist health policy maker and health care worker to implement, innovate, and translate preparedness and response to save valuable life and resources.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about profound changes to social behaviour. While calls to identify mental health effects that may stem from these changes should be heeded, there is also a need to examine potential changes with respect to health behaviours. Media reports have signalled dramatic shifts in sleep, substance use, physical activity and diet, which may have subsequent downstream mental health consequences. We briefly discuss the interplay between health behaviours and mental health, and the possible changes in these areas resulting from anti-pandemic measures. We also highlight a call for greater research efforts to address the short and long-term consequences of changes to health behaviours.

The article is about the problem of the readiness to release convicts who have been sentenced to life imprisonment by the court, as well as to persons for whom the death penalty has been replaced by this type of punishment as a - early release, which raises many questions related with the criteria for assessing the personality of these convicts and measures aimed at preparing them for release. The difficulties faced by the psychological support of this category of convicts are analyzed: problems of establishing psychological contact (forced contact); lack of time (internal regulations) for the provision of individual and group psychological assistance; the need to ensure safety when working with them; convicts' lack of motivation to change, as well as to work together with a psychologist; negative emotional states and a high level of conflict among convicts. The mental states that these convicts experience at various stages of serving their sentences in a special regime penal colony are characterized (aggressiveness, high level of conflict, lack of prospects for the future, loss of meaning in life). The objective and subjective factors influencing the personality of the convict during a long term of serving the sentence, and the factors on which the readiness of these convicts to release depends are analyzed. Based on the analysis of this problem, it is concluded that special attention should be paid not only to the professional training of penitentiary psychologists, but also to their psychological readiness to work with this category of convicts.

“Big data” methodologies bring new potential for humanities research. Google’s Ngram Viewer provides an extraordinary tool for tracking long-term usage of terms. Although this is a very high level trend analysis, it may shed light on hidden relations that can be discovered only at the macro resolution level. This short paper will attempt to analyze the historical hidden patterns of the term “Truth” during the last 500 years. Its relation with the term “Love” will be revealed. The results are also compared with the manual analysis of “Truth Systems,” by Pitirim Sorokin in 1937.
