The purpose of this research is to explain the linguistic situation in the form of diglossic inequality in speech events that occur in the Mesuji Raya. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The stages in this study began with data collection conducted by observation, interview, and note taking techniques. The data in this study consisted of natural utterances used by the Javanese Mesuji Raya speech community. The next stage is the stage of data analysis carried out by the matching method. The results obtained after analyzing the data are Javanese and Indonesian language codes have the Javanese language of instruction in Mesuji Raya and the seat is of a high variety (T) and the low variance code (R), Javanese speakers in this region do not like to use Javanese language codes correctly, and Understand also Understanding the language given by the Javanese people in Mesuji Raya in the various manners is still low. Conclusion, the use of the low variance code (R) is also used as a means of code switching in high variance speech (T), this is caused by linguistic factors, namely the ability of utilization required by the speaker. The use of greetings in a speech community required the rules of their use. Lacks of understanding of the problem willmake a person violate the rules of politeness in language culture that prevail in a language community. The problemstudied in this research is how the use of the word Acil “Auntie” in Banjar language based on greeting category. Thepurpose of this study is to describe the use of the word Acil “Auntie” in Banjar language based on the greeting category.The type of this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection was taken in Gambah village, Hulu Sungai SelatanRegency, South Kalimantan Province. Data collection was held on January 2017 to June 2017. It was done by usingobservation method with tapping and involved conversation technique. The data analysis was done by comparing. Thedeterminant of this method is a non-language element. His method of determining the tool is outside the language orpragmatic, so that the determinant is the opposite. The researcher took three steps of work. They are collection, dataprocessing, and analysis presentation. The result of this research is the use of greeting Acil “Auntie” in Banjar peoplebased on greeting category consisting of affection category, kinship, honorific greeting, nickname, and “calling” category. AbstrakKata sapaan dalam sebuah komunitas tutur penting diketahui penggunaannya. Ketidakpahaman akanmasalah tersebut akan membuat seseorang menyalahi aturan budaya santun berbahasa yang berlakupada komunitas bahasa tersebut. Masalah yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini, yaitu bagaimana penggunaankata Acil “Bibi” dalam bahasa Banjar berdasarkan kategori sapaan. Tujuan penelitian adalahmendeskripsikan penggunaan kata Acil “Bibi” dalam bahasa Banjar berdasarkan kategori sapaan.Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan di desa Gambah, KabupatenHulu Sungai Selatan, Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan. Waktu pengumpulan data selama bulan Januari—Juni 2017. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode simak dengan teknik sadap dan teknik libatlangsung. Pengkajian data melalui metode padan. Metode ini alat penentunya adalah di luar bahasaatau pragmatik sehingga yang menjadi penentu adalah lawan bicaranya. Penulis menempuh tigalangkah kerja, yaitu tahap pengumpulan data, pengolahan data, dan penyajian hasil analisis data. Hasilpenelitian yang diperoleh, yaitu penggunaan kata sapaan Acil “Bibi” dalam masyarakat Banjarberdasarkan kategori sapaan terdiri atas kategori panggilan sayang, hubungan kekerabatan, sapaanhormat, panggilan julukan, dan kategori “memanggilkan”.

This study aims to interpret the function of verbal and nonverbal rhetorical forms of presenters in Mata Najwa on Trans7 as a rhetorical strategy. The design and type of this research used descriptive qualitative. The research was conducted comprehensively which refers to the analysis of verbal and nonverbal rhetorical forms. Data collection techniques used recording techniques, listening techniques, and note-taking techniques. Meanwhile, the data analysis in this study was to classify the data and classify the data. To test the validity of the data, the researchers used several stages, namely credibility testing, transferability testing, depenability testing, and confirmability testing. The results of this study found that the use of verbal (diction and style) and nonverbal (body language) rhetoric from Najwa Shihab's speech contained many persuasive elements. From the persuasive element, it was used as a strategy for the presenter in Mata Najwa on Trans7.Based on the results and discussion of verbal and nonverbal rhetoric in the Mata Najwa program on Trans7, various verb elements were selected which functioned to expedite the process of the presenter's strategy in influencing listeners. Therefore, an art in communicating is absolutely necessary for a presenter in conveying messages through the rhetoric of verbal forms of speech and rhetoric of speech in nonverbal forms.

This study examines the lingual forms especially the morphological process and the lingual form of sentences based on the communicative values contained in the meme of the whatsapp group. The things discussed will reveal the lingual forms of words and sentences in meme on whatsapp group. This study aims to identify, classify, and analyze the lingual forms in meme on whatsapp group. This research is descriptive qualitative with a linguistic approach. The method of data collection uses the referred method. The method of data analysis uses a matching method with basic and advanced techniques. The results of the study show that there are six lingual forms of words according to the morphological processes in the meme of the whatsapp group, which consist of zero derivation, affixation (prefix, suffix, confix, and combination of affixes), reduplication (dwilingga and dwiwasana), abbreviation (decapitation, abbreviation, contractions, and acronyms), composition, and reverse derivation. The result of the study of the lingual sentence shows that there are four types of sentences, namely declarative sentences, interrogative sentences (total and partial interrogatives), imperative sentences (common imperatives, requests, invitation, and imperative), and empathic sentences in meme on whatsapp group.Keywords: shapes, lingual, words, sentences, memes

The used of code-switching in learning Indonesian was an overview of the situation of how the interaction between students and teacher in learning. Code-switching used in regards to communicating certainly have functions. This study aimed to describe function code switching used by speakers at SMK of Marisi Medan. This research was a descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of study were the teacher and students. The objects were utterances of code-switching in Indonesian language learning at Vacational High School of  Marisi Medan. Validity data technique used triangulation of data source and informant review. Data collection used listen and speak methods. Data analysis using the intralingual method. The result of  research showed that function of code-switching at the time of process of Indonesian language learning are explained, reminded, reprimanded, emphasized, and asked.

The aim of this research is to describe beliefs and Shinto practices in the anime Noragami based on the concept of religion by Koentjaraningrat and references from Danamdjaja, Nadroh and Azmi. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, the data collection technique used was a note-taking technique. The data used are dialogues and screenshots. The data analysis technique was carried out by analyzing the dialogue in the anime noragami related to beliefs or Shinto practices. Found three concepts of beliefs from the anime include beliefs in the existence of God, belief in the soul(spirit) of the dead, and belief in the evil spirit (ghost or monster). While Shinto rites were found, three practices include purification, offerings to gods and praying. The conclusions of this study about Japanese people’s beliefs contained in the anime Noragami in the form of supernatural and soul (spirit) concepts. For Shinto practices focus on purity, impurity and then ask God

This study aims to describe the structure of the lecturer-student conversation in the interaction of Pragmatics Class. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The technique of data collection is done by recording and note-taking techniques. The data analysis technique is carried out by heuristic techniques. The results of the study show that the interaction of the lecturer and the students in Pragmatics Class have conversational structures: 1) turn taking of speech that occurs because of the opportunity to speak, 2) pauses (long and short) that occur due to the absence of feedback in the form of speech and speakers feel hesitant in conveying the message. 3) Overlaps that occur due to speech or the use of the same lingual element, 4) backchannels that occur because there is understanding and acceptance or approval of the speech, and 5) adjunct pairs that occur because of greetings, questions, and requests. This indicates that the process of the lecturer-students interaction runs well. The students feel enthusiastic for responding the lecturer’s questions.

This study aims to describe the function the code switching used by speakers at SMK Multi Karya Medan. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The problem in this study is how does the form of conversation and mother speech act strategy to the children in Banjar society when gabut baisukan. This study will discuss the form of conversation and mother speech act strategy to the children in Banjar society when gabut baisukan. It is hoped that this study will add the conceptabout one of communication form in Banjarese culture in gabut baisukan.This study uses descriptive qualitative method. The data collection is done through note taking, recording, and also from document, and literature from January 2019 until June 2019. The data are taken from Martapura village, South Kalimantan. This study uses several steps, they are collecting the data, selecting the data, analysis, and presentation. The data presentation uses common words. The result shows that speech act used by mother to the children are dominated by command, while the strategy which is used is positive and negative strategy. This article is aimed at finding out the Minangkabaunese verbs that share similar meaning to the verb ‘MANCALIAK’ (equivalent to ‘to see’ in English) using the Natural Semantic Metalanguage (NSM) approach. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The data were verbs in Minangkabaunese language that possibly have similar meanings with the verb ‘MANCALIAK’ collected through interview. Five native Minangkabaunese living in the area of Padang were taken as the research respondents. In the process of data collection, listening and note-taking techniques were used. The data were analyzed using an interactive model of data analysis considering the table of semantic primitives as the basis of classifying the verbs. Based on the data analysis, it was found that, in Minangkabaunese language, the verb ‘MANCALIAK’ is realized in several lexical items such as maliek, mancigok, manjanguak, maintik, manonton, mancenek, mamareso and mamparatian. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian ini adalah verba-verba dalam BM yang mungkin memiliki kesamaan dalam hal makna dengan verba ‘MANCALIAK’ yang diperoleh melalui wawancara. Lima penutur asli BM yang berdomisili di kota Padang dijadikan sebagai responden penelitian. Dalam proses pengumpulan data, teknik menyimak dan mencatat digunakan. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan model interaktif analisis data dengan mempertimbangkan tabel makna asali sebagai alat pengelompokan verba-verba yang dianalisis. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, ditemukan bahwa, dalam BM, verba ‘MANCALIAK’ (melihat) direalisasikan dengan beberapa leksikal seperti maliek, mancigok, manjanguak, maintik, manonton, mancenek, mamareso dan mamparatian. Verba-verba tersebut memiliki kedekatan makna yang memungkinkan penutur BM melakukan pemilihan kata yang kurang berterima dalam BM.Kata Kunci/frase:  Bahasa Minangkabau, makna asali, MANCALIAK, MSA, verba

This study aims to explain how the distribution of productive zakat in the Rumah Zakat North Sumatra and how the effectiveness of productive zakat distribution in improving the welfare of mustahik in the Rumah Zakat North Sumatra. This study uses a qualitative approach with a type of descriptive method, which is a problem that guides researchers to explore and photograph situations that will be thoroughly investigated, broadly and deeply. Data collection techniques with field research, while the tools used are observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis used is descriptive qualitative analysis. The results of this study inform that in distributing productive zakat funds, Rumah Zakat is in accordance with Law No. 23 of 2011 concerning Management of Zakat. The distribution of productive zakat carried out by the Rumah Zakat North Sumatra through the Senyum Mandiri Program to mustahik in Medan Helvetia Subdistrict has been effective, because it can improve the welfare of mustahik, this is evidenced by the income of eight of thirteen mustahik people in total, five people whose income is fixed and four out of eight people whose income has increased has reached the level of muzaki.
