Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the learning process shifted from face- to- face learning into online learning as schools and universities closed almost all over the word. With the shift from face to face into online learning, the learning process effected negatively specially students’ interaction. In the online learning process, students tend to avoid interacting for many different reasons the study discussed. In light of this shift, by exploring the experiences and perceptions of the English language students at Hebron University, Palestine, this descriptive survey research aimed to investigate the reasons behind students’ lack of interaction during their online class sessions. It also tries to provide some useful ideas and suggestion that instructors may use in order to increase their students' interaction and participation with relevance to some other studies. The researchers employed a mono method quantitative research approach. A survey-questionnaire was posted online through Google forms to all English language major students Hebron University. The findings reported some reasons behind lack of interaction and some suggestions to promote interaction based on the participants’ perceptions. The study provides instructors and educational decision makers with pedagogical insights that may better shape the learning/teaching process in the online environment.

In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, almost all Indonesians, including Bengkulu province, expect to experience the spike in positive cases of Covid-19, particularly in the Rejang Lebong Regency, resulting in many very significant changes in almost all fields, especially in the field of education. The learning process, consisting of synchronous learning, is carried out internet (online), namely face-to-face by video calls/ zoom meetings and asynchronous, namely by assignments. Using observational data methods, interviews, and notes, the research approach used is a qualitative research method. The aim of this study is to provide some explanations of the use of the zoom meeting application during a pandemic in online learning, to evaluate the constraints of using the zoom meeting application and the benefits of the application for zoom meeting from several features during a pandemic in online learning. The findings of this study show that it can be easier for lecturers and students to interact synchronously in the learning process by applying the zoom meeting application to learning during this pandemic.

The challenge of online learning for students is independence in assignments—attendance and enthusiasm of students present in class. Written language skills are very prominent in the online learning process. The online learning process has many obstacles in the interaction of students and lecturers, such as courses that require skills. Next is the problem of an unstable internet network. This paper aims to evaluate online learning in universities. The researcher used descriptive survey research. The respondents of Sekolah Tinggi Filsafat Jaffray were 96 students. This study examines the effectiveness of the online learning process. Data were analyzed and compared with research results in journal articles.The online learning evaluation analysis results from the side of the first student showed that students were more interested in face-to-face learning than online. Second, most students plan to study now for future use. Third, the main obstacles faced by students are internet access and internet quota. Lecturers have an essential role in helping students learn online. Third, students need groups to evaluate each other during the learning process.

Learning in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic has undergone a fundamental change from a face-to-face learning process to online-based learning to minimize the transmission of the Covid-19 virus. Online learning is basically a learning model with internet technology media, so that the learning process can be carried out even though it is in different places. The research method in this research is qualitative research by describing the online learning management process that is carried out at SMP LAB UKSW. The instruments in this research include observation sheets, student opinion questionnaires, and interview guides. The results showed that the online learning process applies management principles which include planning, organizing, implementing and controlling. The results of student and teacher opinions show that online learning has a positive perception of 83%. The results of the interview showed that the students felt that they were well facilitated by the online learning process that was conducted at SMP LAB UKSW.

<p>Nowadays, the communicative teaching has been influenced by the development of technology. Becoming interactive teacher would not be enough if it is not supported by technology usage. Online learning in this case has been a powerful tool to help language learners during their learning progress.  It is said that that online instruction raised the good and average student’s reading performance and the performance of the lowest-performing as well. In listening and speaking, online learning can help students improve their pronunciaton as well the comprehension skill. Therefore, the following study is designed to find out the students’ perceptions towards the use of both online and face-to-face learning in listening and speaking classroom. There are 30 students from the 1<sup>st</sup> and 3<sup>rd</sup> semester of English Language and Culture Departement and they joined the class for 1 semester. Online learning platform used was taken from Cambridge Learning Management System integrated with Unlock 2 and Unlock 4 books as the source of learning. The Covid-19 pandemic has led to policies that make teachers and students have to adapt the face-to-face learning model to online learning. The teacher of SD N 2 Cakranegara admits that there are limitations to the variety of audio-visual learning media used. The teachers also don't know and have never tried to develop game games with learning content, even though Android-based games are very possible to be developed and accessed portable on smartphones, the majority of which are already owned by teachers and students. The provision of workshops and assistance in making Android-based educational games for SD N 2 Cakranegara teachers aims to improve skills in creating and developing learning media in the form of educational games and maximizing the use of smartphones. Online learning that is integrated into face-to-face learning called blended learning is believed to be more useful than online learning or face-to-face learning. Schoology is one of the online learning platforms exploited in blended learning that can help teachers to manage classroom information. Schoology allows students and teachers to share information and provides access to content or administrative features of specific courses. This study aims to investigate students' perceptions of blended learning via Schoology in reading class. This is a descriptive study, the participants of this study consisted of 28- second-semester students at the English Language Study Program, Faculty of Tarbiyah, and teacher training IAIN Jember, East Java Indonesia. The Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews. The findings of this study revealed that there were positive perceptions of blended learning via Schoology in the reading comprehension class as well as the positive learners’ attitude. Furthermore, the students agreed that Schoology in blended learning in the reading comprehension class is useful, helpful, and effective. Moreover, from the results of the interviews, there were positive aspects of blended learning via Schoology in reading comprehension which gave more benefits to engage and motivate students’ learning activities, students’ performances, learners’ autonomy, as well as students’ learning outcomes.

This study aims to determine how the headmaster's leadership strategy is in improving the quality of online learning during the Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) pandemic at MTs Negeri 2 Langkat Regency. naturalistic which means observing a problem subject that arises naturally. The collected data are in the form of narration, text, written, spoken or in the form of pictures. Qualitative research is conducted to understand the activities, behavior and ways of life of other people, social or other natural symptoms. The strategy of the madrasah principal is the key to success in achieving the stated goals of the madrasah. The head of the madrasah as the highest leader in the education unit actually has visionary thoughts in developing the madrasah he leads, such as having a precise strategy in advancing his madrasah. Without a strategy, the madrasah program will not work. Strategy is the first and most important step when a leader intends to advance the madrasa. During the Covid-19 pandemic the learning process could not be stopped even though educational institutions were temporarily closed, face-to-face learning was not allowed, so online learning was implemented where activities were carried out from home. The strategy of the madrasa principal is to implement several applications such as 1) Zooom Meeting, 2) Google Classroom, 3) Google Meet, 4) WhatsApp Group, and 5) Email in supporting the online learning process at MTs Negeri 2 Langkat Regency. This strategy is a solution for students during the Covid-19 pandemic, students can learn from home online, so that they can interact via the media and can receive subject matter provided by the teacher.

This study aimed to investigate Jordanian university students’ attitudes toward online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns, shed light on the obstacles students encounter in online learning, and suggest possible solutions. A questionnaire designed by the researchers was used to elicit responses from a study sample consisting of 195 students from the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of Jordan – Aqaba. As this is an attitudinal study, the survey questionnaire was designed to elicit student responses on the following domains: gender, seniority level, socioeconomic status, training and orientation for using eLearning platforms, and their attitudes, whether positive or negative, toward online learning. Results of this quantitative research showed that student attitudes toward online learning are generally negative. The majority of the respondents reported that they prefer face-to-face classroom instruction over online learning because it gives them direct contact with the instructors. Furthermore, results revealed statistically significant differences amongst students attributed to their gender, whereas no differences were found with regards to their seniority of study, socioeconomic status, and the eLearning platform they prefer to use. The study concludes by proposing some pedagogical recommendations.

The increase number of Covid-19 outbreak has profoundly changed our education system. This condition has led the teachers to alter the face-to-face learning into online learning. Online learning emphasizes on the internet-based courses synchronously and asynchronously. Besides its technical problems, conducting online learning was said to be monotonous since the teachers preferred doing online tasking to providing effective learning experience. Further, this condition led to low students’ motivation in learning English. In other words, the students might be in boredom to participate and engage in the teaching- learning process owing to the monotonous learning. Most students were said to be late or even reluctant to complete the assignments. Therefore, the researcher conducted the Classroom Action Research dealing with the use of Google meet to improve the students’ motivation in learning English during the online learning. The research subject was the 7th grade students of SMP Negeri Satu Atap Jarit. The research was conducted in two cycles. In cycle I, it showed that there was an increase of students’ motivation in learning English. The increase of students’ motivation was 61, 8%. Meanwhile, in cycle II, the researcher found that the Google meet significantly improved the students’ motivation in learning English. The increase of students’ motivation was 79, 4%. The result showed that the students actively participate and engage in the teaching-learning process. The students were very enthusiastic to respond and answer the some questions, and share their ideas related to the topic of the meeting. In addition, the increase of students’ motivation influence the students to compose sentences correctly related to the given assignments. Based on the result of data analysis, the researcher drew a conclusion that the use of Google meet significantly improved the students’ motivation in learning English during the online learning.Keywords: Google meet, Learning English, Students’ Motivation
