This research was based on the students’ problem in reading comprehension of narrative text, especially in generic structure, purpose, language features and vocabulary. The purpose of this research was to improve reading comprehension in narrative text. The design of this research was Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research consisted of five meetings in one cycle. This research conducted on March 2018. Based on the test result, it was found that the average score of cycle was 80, 09. Furthermore, the data about factors that influence the students’ improvement in reading comprehension in narrative text were obtained by interview, observation checklist, and field note. The factors were interested of media, students’ enjoy and fun during learning process and this strategy was easily to comprehend. In conclusion, the use of FLIP strategy can improve students reading comprehension in narrative text.

The problem of this research is the students’ low comprehension in reading descriptive text in term of generic structure, purpose, language features and vocabulary. This research aimed to enhance student understanding by using a constructivist approach in reading descriptive text. The design of this research was a classroom action research (CAR). The samples of this research were 40 students. Based on the result of the test, it was found that students’ average score was 77. The resulting score improved from the based score that was 69.5. Furthermore from the result of observation, field note and interview, it was found the factors influencing the improvement of students’ comprehension in reading descriptive text by using a constructivist approach, they were teacher’s strategy and teacher’s media. Finally, the researcher concludes that this constructivist approach can improve the students’ reading comprehension.

This research aims to improve students reading comprehension on recounttext by using Question Answer Relationship (QAR) strategy. This researchis a classroom action research which was conducted in three cycles. Theparticipants of this research consist of the teacher and the students in classX IIS 3 of SMAN 1 Sungai Raya. The researcher collected the data ofstudents improvement in reading comprehension by observing the datathrough reading test, observation checklist, field note and self-assessmentforms. The result showed that students problems in comprehending recounttext had been solved by using QAR strategy. Right There and Think andSearch question improved students understanding of generic structure andlanguage features of recount text. The mean score of students readingcomprehension enhanced in each cycle. In the first cycle, the students meanscore was 57.2, it increased to 68.8 in the second cycle, and 82 in the thirdcycle. In other words, Question Answer Relationship (QAR) strategyimproved students reading comprehension of recount text.

This research was based on the students’ problems in writing descriptive text, especially in terms of organizing the generic structure, determining adjective to describe people or things, and mastering vocabulary. The purposes of this research were to improve the students’ writing skill in descriptive text and to find out the factors influencing the students’ improvement through Attribute Chart strategy at grade 7.2 of SMPIT Al Birru Pekanbaru. The design of this research was Classroom Action Research. The instruments used were the writing test, observation checklist, field note, and interview. The participants involved  in this research were the students at grade 7.2 which was consisted of 16 students. The result showed that the students base score was 51.8,  and the score in cycle 1 was 70.4. It means the students’ score was improved in cycle 1. Furthermore this improvement was influenced by 4 factors. These factors were obtained based on the result of field note. Moreover, the results of field note were: students’ motivation, students’ interest, students’ exciting with the new topic, and the students’ activeness in the learning process. In conclusion, the use of Attribute Chart strategy in writing descriptive text can improve students’ writing skill at 7.2 grade of SMPIT Al Birru Pekanbaru.

This research was based on the researcher's preliminary study which found that the students could not comprehend the meaning of texts in their textbook.   This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve the students’ reading comprehension in narrative text through simplified text at grade VIII of SMP Budhi Luhur Pekanbaru. The research was administered to the second year students of SMP Budhi Luhur Pekanbaru. The total population was 34 students. After analyzing the data, the researcher found a significant effect of simplified text toward reading at the second-year SMP Budhi Luhur Pekanbaru students, where the average score from the based score was 58. It increased to 66 at the end of the cycle I. Finally, the average score of cycle II was 75. So it can be concluded that simplified text can increase the students' reading skill at grade VIII SMP Budhi Luhur Pekanbaru

The aims of this research are to find out how the implementation of translation can improve the students’ reading skill and how the students’ responses to the use of translation method in the teaching and learning process. This research is a classroom action research. The participant is 39 students. The research instrument used is in the form of observation checklist, test, and questioners. The finding of the research shows that the implementation of translation improves the students’ reading skill in the teaching process and the test result. The result of evaluation which carried out in end of the cycle I obtained that the lowest score is 40 and the highest score is 82 then the average score is 58.1, cycle II gets the lowest score is 50 and the highest score is 85 then the average score is 60,9, and cycle III get the lowest score is 60 and the highest score is 85 and the average score is 65.8. Therefore, it can be concluded that the translation method can improve the students’ reading skill of grade VII D of MTs. Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta and the students’ responses are positive when the teacher applied translation method in teaching and learning process.

The objective of this study is to investigate whether the application of Before, During, and After (BDA) Technique significantly improves the students’ achievement in reading narrative text. This study was conducted by using classroom action research. The subject of this research was the students in MTs S Al-Ittihadiyah Mamiyai Medan especially class VIII 1 which consisted of 32 students. The research was conducted in two cycles. The first cycle consisted of three meetings and the second cycle consisted of three meetings. The instruments for collecting data were interview sheet, observation sheet, and diary notes. Based on the analysis, students’ achievement is improved in every test of reading narrative test. In test I, the mean score was 50.93. In test II in cycle I, the mean score was 70.93. In test III in cycle II, the mean score was 91.75. Based on the interview sheet, observation sheet and diary notes, it was found that the teaching learning process ran well. The students were more active and enthusiastic working in group. It was conclude that Before, During, and After (BDA) Technique can improve the students’ achievement in reading narrative text.   Keywords: BDA Technique, Reading, Narrative text, Action Research

The lack of students ability in understanding reading texts show that the students are not able to understand reading comprension learning. This is why some efforts are made to increase the students learning process and by using CIRC Cooperative Model. This research is intended to identify the success of CIRC cooperative model application in increasing the quality of students learning process and outcome in reading comprehension of Class VIII students of SMP Purnama 3 Kota Jambi. This research is Classroom Action Research. The location of the research is SMP Purnama 3 Kota Jambi. The total number of the students is 23 students. This research consists of two cycles, in which every cycle uses planning, action, observation, and reflection. The instrument of the research is observation sheets, field note, questionnaire, and test. The technique of analyzing data is by using data reduction, data presenting, and conclusion. While the data of students learning quality is taken from mean formulae. The result of the research is that the application of CIRC cooperative model makes the process of learning becomes interesting, fun, and having contribution because the students show their active response in learning process. The students become autonomous, creative, and aware in thinking and solving problems in reading. In cycle I, the students are in enough criterion (71,5%) and in cycle II it is increasing to good criterion (82%). The mean score of cycle I is 71,25 which falls in enough criterion and the score in cycle II is increasing to 82 which falls to good criterion. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the application of CIRC cooperative model is useful in increasing the quality of learning process and learning outcome of students reading comprehension. The research suggests to those especially to the teacher of Indonesian language and art of Junior High School who happen to have the same problem can apply this model as a reference on the same research. In contrast, the classroom action research by using CIRC cooperative model need a further investigation by using innovative development.Keywords: CIRC Cooperative Model, Learning Quality, Reading Comprehension

Based on the result of observation that students got some difficulties to understand the content of reading comprehension, particularly main ideas, detail information, vocabulary, identify information, word reference and generic structure. The purpose of this research was to find whether the students who received in class experiment of repeated reading strategy had different skill in reading comprehension than students who did not receive treatment of the strategy at the second grade of SMPN 36 Pekanbaru.  The design of this research was Experimental Research. This research was conducted on Jan 2018. The population of this research was the second grade of SMPN 36 Pekanbaru. The sample of this research were 2 classes as control and experiment class. Based on the test result, it was found that the average score of post-test was 85.33 and pre test was 71. It means that the result of post test was getting higher than pretest.  In conclusion, the use of repeated reading strategy could increase students reading comprehension in narrative text. There was different ability between experment and control class.

This research was designed to improve the students` reading comprehension through Think Talk Write at the first-grade students of SMKN 1 Lasusua. The research problem was “The reading comprehension of the first- grade students of SMKN 1 Lasusua is low”. The design of this research was collaborative Classroom Action Research (CAR).In this research, there were two cycles. The first cycle was not success because the result of the students’ test did not fulfill the KKM, so there was the next cycle. The second cycle was success because the result of the student test achieved the KKM mandatory by the school. In addition, this research must get score of 70 to fulfill the Minimum Mastery Criterion – Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM). It could be seen in the average score, it was 68.6 in the first cycle, and there were only 17 students from 35 students got greater score than or equal 70. This score increased to be 74.77 in the second cycle, there were 26 from 35 students got score greater than or equal 70. It means that this research was successful. Based on the findings, the conclusion is Think Talk Write strategy could improve the students` comprehension in reading at the first-grade students of SMKN 1 Lasusua.

This research aimed to find the use of Patterned Partner Reading strategy improve the students reading comprehension at the SMP Muhammadiyah Limbung. The researcher used A Classroom Action Research (CAR). The researcher had conducted two cycles, where each cycle consisted of four meetings. This classroom action research was one at SMP Muhammadiyah Limbung. As subject in this research was the second class with students’ number as about 30 students consist of 7 man and 23 women. The instruments were observation sheet and test sheet. The research findings indicated that the application of patterned partner reading strategy was effective and significant in improving the students’ reading skill especially students’ reading comprehension. It was proved that the mean score of D-Test was 60.8, Cycle I 75.5 and after conducted Cycle II improved to 93 And based of mean score of students’ reading comprehension during two cycle researcher found percentage improvement that is from D-Test to Cycle I is 24.17% and from Cycle I to Cycle II is 23.17 and D-Test to Cycle II 52.96%. It means that there was the improvement of students’ reading comprehension on learning process.
