This research aimed to evaluate the potential of orbital images from the Landsat-8/OLI and Sentinel-2 /MSI sensors in the distinction of species from a forest stand located in Campo Belo do Sul, State of Santa Catarina, Brazil. A total of 53 plots were allocated in the field, in which the central coordinate of the plot was collected using GPS receivers. In SIG environment, two images were used, one from each sensor, closely dated to the field campaign and with no clouds and other atmospheric factors. Then, the images were processed, and 17 vegetation indexes were calculated for each one. The indices were compared statistically by the t-Student test for independent samples. The indices that provided the best species differentiation were: CRI, GNDVI, NDI11, NDI12, NDVI, RDVI, SAVI, and SR. In addition, the species with greater prominence in the Landsat-8/OLI images was Eucalyptus spp. whereas Cunninghamia lanceolata (Lamb.) Hooker was easily distinguished in Sentinel-2 images. It was possible to differentiate the species from remote data derived from the Sentinel-2/MSI and Landsat-8/OLI sensors. However, further studies using other Remote Sensing data sources and other species are suggested.

AbstractEducation in school is sometimes not acceptable in totality by all learners, because learners have their own learning style so that it raises a problem in the learning process, especially a teacher sometimes in the process of teaching in the classroom still often uses whiteboard media and lecture methods to make learners feel bored and unable to capture the material delivered by their teachers. This research aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective PowToon-based biological learning medium. This research adapts the 4-D development model which includes four stages namely define (defining), design (design), develop dessiminate. Based on the results of the study, it is known the the level of validity of the PowToon based biology learning media is in the valid category and the mean value is 3.66. The level of practicality of the PowToon based biology learning media is in the very practical category with an average value of 3.53 student test results are categorized as very effective because they achieve an average learning outcome of 83.54 with intervals (>80). So that the PowToon based biology learning media is feasible to use because it meets three criteria, namely validity, practicality and effectiveness. PowToon based biology learning media is expected to be implemented in classroom learning activities.

Introduction: The aim of this in vitro study was to determine and compare the shear bond strength (SBS) of two types of composites. Material and Methods: Twenty cylindrical samples were prepared and divided into two control and case groups. The case group consisted of 10 cylindrical samples of two types of composites (3M and Vivadent), and the control group, which was divided into two subgroups of 5, included only one type of composite (3M or Vivadent). After preparation, the samples were transferred to the Instron device for testing the SBS. The data were analyzed by SPSS version 15 software using Smirnov-Kolmogorov test for studying the normal distribution of data and t-student test for independent populations. Results: Heliomolar (Ivoclar-Vivadent) composite (microfill) showed the lowest SBS, but the difference was not significant (P>0.05). The highest SBS was for Filtek Z100 (3M ESPE) composite. There were no fracture lines in the interface of the two composites. Conclusion: This confirms that proper use of adhesives can prevent fracture in the interface of different composites. So, using two different composite brands on each other does not reduce the bond strength between them.

One of the most universal methods used to predict the mesiodistal width of non-erupted canines and premolars is the one designed by Dr. Edison Moyers, an American orthodontist who, taking the Anglo-Saxon population as a reference, created percentile tables to estimate these values in the maxilla and mandible. During the last decade, several researchers have discovered that, when applied to various populations, there are significant differences between predictions and actual values. In Cuba, it is widely used at a 50% probability for prediction in both sexes, but there are few reports of studies that validate its reliability and those that do exist use small samples of patients. For this reason, the objective of this research is to determine the applicability of the Moyers method at 50% probabilities for estimating the mesiodistal diameter of canines and premolars in patients 12-18 years of age. A descriptive and cross-sectional study was developed from July 2019 to February 2020 with a population of 125 patients, 62 females and 63 males, between 12 and 18 years old from Cuba. Measurements were made of the mesiodistal widths of the lower incisors, all the canines and premolars. Frequency distributions were made to the variables studied and the results were presented in statistical tables. To verify the existence of significant differences, the statistical t-Student test was used. The main results obtained were that the Moyers method tends to underestimate the values for the female sex between 0.4-0.5 mm, and for the male sex between 0.6 and 0.7 mm, this difference being significant for men. It is concluded that the Moyers method cannot be applied in the population studied for the prediction of the mesiodistal width of canines and premolars

A supramolecular atropine sensor was developed, using cucurbit[6]uril as the recognition element. The solid-contact electrode is based on a polymeric membrane incorporating cucurbit[6]uril (CB[6]) as an ionophore, 2-nitrophenyl octyl ether as a solvent mediator, and potassium tetrakis (4-chlorophenyl) borate as an additive. In a MES-NaOH buffer at pH 6, the performance of the atropine sensor is characterized by a slope of (58.7 ± 0.6) mV/dec with a practical detection limit of (6.30 ± 1.62) × 10−7 mol/L and a lower limit of the linear range of (1.52 ± 0.64) × 10−6 mol/L. Selectivity coefficients were determined for different ions and excipients. The obtained results were bolstered by the docking and spectroscopic studies which demonstrated the interaction between atropine and CB[6]. The accuracy of the potentiometric analysis of atropine content in certified reference material was evaluated by the t-Student test. The herein proposed sensor answers the need for reliable methods providing better management of this hospital drug shelf-life while reducing its flush and remediation costs.
