The article is devoted to the substantiation of the choice of the basic technique of estimation of efficiency of mathematical models which could be accepted as the basic model at the development of the corresponding information-analytical system, and also the definition of those provisions which need to be considered in the specified basic technique. The study found that as a basic method of evaluating the effectiveness of mathematical models, it is advisable to adopt a methodology based on a combination of existing approaches to evaluating efficiency, the first of which concerns the implementation of stages of evaluating the feasibility of modeling, comparative evaluation of models, the second is the quantitative assessment of significant requirements for mathematical models of phenomena, processes, and systems. These approaches should complement each other at the macro and micro levels by implementing the properties of additivity and superposition of important provisions for modeling, which are different in different approaches. In this case, the main aspects that determine the necessary areas for improvement of the basic methodology are aspects related to the creation of instrumental methods for estimating the speed and material costs of creating a model and evaluating the research result obtained using modeling, as well as substantiation of analytical dependencies. to determine the average criterion assessment of the model, integrated assessment of incremental effects, reliability of modeling, relative average values of error introduced into model calculations due to generalized consideration of parameters and factors, dependence for absolute assessment of modeling completeness.

AbstractObjectivesThe stability of the analytes most commonly used in routine clinical practice has been the subject of intensive research, with varying and even conflicting results. Such is the case of alanine aminotransferase (ALT). The purpose of this study was to determine the stability of serum ALT according to different variables.MethodsA multicentric study was conducted in eight laboratories using serum samples with known initial catalytic concentrations of ALT within four different ranges, namely: <50 U/L (<0.83 μkat/L), 50–200 U/L (0.83–3.33 μkat/L), 200–400 U/L (3.33–6.67 μkat/L) and >400 U/L (>6.67 μkat/L). Samples were stored for seven days at two different temperatures using four experimental models and four laboratory analytical platforms. The respective stability equations were calculated by linear regression. A multivariate model was used to assess the influence of different variables.ResultsCatalytic concentrations of ALT decreased gradually over time. Temperature (−4%/day at room temperature vs. −1%/day under refrigeration) and the analytical platform had a significant impact, with Architect (Abbott) showing the greatest instability. Initial catalytic concentrations of ALT only had a slight impact on stability, whereas the experimental model had no impact at all.ConclusionsThe constant decrease in serum ALT is reduced when refrigerated. Scarcely studied variables were found to have a significant impact on ALT stability. This observation, added to a considerable inter-individual variability, makes larger studies necessary for the definition of stability equations.

Introduction: the article deals with the methodological problem of the meaning of the goal of civil law research. The author analyzes the dissertation abstracts from the point of view of goal setting, which were completed in different periods of the development of Russian civil law science, identifies the qualitative characteristics of the stages, and proves the connection of the achieved results with the researcher’s knowledge of the methodological methods of goal setting. Purpose: to show the value of goal setting in scientific research in general and in civil research in particular; to consider the relationship of goal setting with the achievement of specific scientific results on the examples of dissertations defended in the specialty 12.00.03; to justify the need to set as goals the fundamental problems associated with the identification of patterns of development of relations that are part of the subject of civil law regulation and the creation of effective mechanisms that mediate them. Methods: system-structural, system-functional, generalization, abstraction, analogy, logical, statistical, classification, legal modeling, comparative legal, forecasting, formal legal, historical. Results: civil methodology should take into account the importance of the goal in the organization of scientific work. Only a competent possession of goal setting skills can ultimately ensure the creation of scientifically-based mechanisms for effective impact of civil law norms on regulated social relations. Conclusions: 1) any science, including the science of civil law, is not only designed to study and describe existing problems, including legislative, doctrinal, and law enforcement. Research, in order to meet the criterion of scientific character, must attempt to identify the laws of development, both regulated relations and mechanisms that mediate them; 2) the significance of the goal in the development of science has been proven by outstanding philosophers. In addition, the very definition of science indicates that goal setting is one of its essential characteristics; 3) the analysis of the author’s abstracts of leading Russian tsivilists showed how the skilful setting of research goals helped to achieve them consistently, as well as to create a high-quality categorical apparatus of civil law science; 4) the analysis of modern dissertations showed that not all young researchers see the value of goal-setting and this methodological disadvantage is important for the author to eliminate.

The inframammary fold (IMF) is one of the most important landmarks that defines the breast region. Most of the current IMF reconstructive techniques are based on the creation of fibrotic structures to maintain the breast. We present a surgical technique of IMF reconstruction by the creation of a fascial flap underpinned by an anatomical evaluation of this structure and a simple algorithm to define the localization of the new IMF. Fifteen patients underwent our procedure of IMF reconstruction from 2004 to 2016. The patients were followed during at least 6 months after IMF reconstruction. This technique is based on the creation of a pectoralis major fascial flap fixed to the dermis by inverted resorbable sutures. The fascial flap represents a new ligament of the IMF reconstituting a physiological support. Cosmetic outcomes and stability over time were assessed. The long-term aesthetic outcome is optimal on all the patients treated with a natural shape and a good definition of the new IMF. There were no noted complications or revision surgery during the follow-up. Our technique consists of an anatomical reconstitution of IMF recreating a natural support “balcony-like” formed by the pectoralis fascia fixed to the dermis. This technique is useful to correct reconstructive or aesthetic procedures of the breast, with great cosmetic outcome and high reliability underpinned by the use of our position algorithm which is easy to use and enables a symmetrical position of the IMF.

Role mapping is a basic technique for facilitating interoperation in RBAC-based collaborating environments. However, role mapping lacks the flexibility to specify access control policies in the scenarios where the access control is not a simple action, but consists of a sequence of actions and events from subjects and system. In this paper, we propose an attribute mapping technique to establish secure context in multi-domain environments. We first classify attributes into eight types and show that only two types of attributes need to be translated. We second give the definition of attribute mapping technique, and analysis the properties of attribute mapping. Finally, we study how cardinality constraint violation arises and shows that it is efficient to resolve this security violation.

Abstract The computer design has improved forming different type software for scientific researches in the field of gearing theory as well as performing an adequate scientific support of the gear drives manufacture. Here are attached computer programs that are based on mathematical models as a result of scientific researches. The modern gear transmissions require the construction of new mathematical approaches to their geometric, technological and strength analysis. The process of optimization, synthesis and design is based on adequate iteration procedures to find out an optimal solution by varying definite parameters. The study is dedicated to accepted methodology in the creation of soft- ware for the synthesis of a class high reduction hyperboloid gears - Spiroid and Helicon ones (Spiroid and Helicon are trademarks registered by the Illinois Tool Works, Chicago, Ill). The developed basic computer products belong to software, based on original mathematical models. They are based on the two mathematical models for the synthesis: “upon a pitch contact point” and “upon a mesh region”. Computer programs are worked out on the basis of the described mathematical models, and the relations between them are shown. The application of the shown approaches to the synthesis of commented gear drives is illustrated.

The subject. The article is devoted to analysis of the basic models of criminal law and the impact of victim’s legal status on the criminal legal theory. The purpose of the paper is to substantiate the existence and the importance of “criminal law of victim” as basic model of criminal legal theory. The methodological basis of the research includes general-scientific methods (analysis and synthesis, system-structural approach) as well as academic methods (formal-legal method, method of interpretation of legal texts). Results and scope of application. The definition of the role of the victim, the importance of his legitimate interests in the implementation of criminal liability is complicated by the fact that the basic models of criminal law developed by science – “criminal law of the offender” and “criminal law of the crime” – do not consider the victim as a subject of criminal legal relations. The theoretical models of criminal law are embodied in the criminal law, specific legal rela-tions, law enforcement acts, etc., in connection with which there are specific indicators – the parameters by which it is possible to determine which model of criminal law is implemented. If the question of the criminal legal personality of the victim is controversial, in my opinion, there is no doubt that the victim is a party to the criminal law conflict, which often begins to unfold long before the crime.Conclusions. Recognizing the victim as a subject of criminal legal relations, as well as a par-ticipant in the criminal law conflict, it is possible to talk about the formation of a new model of criminal law – “the criminal law of victim”.

Category theory is presented as a mathematical modelling framework that highlights the relationships between objects, rather than the objects in themselves. A working definition of model is given, and several examples of mathematical objects, such as vector spaces, groups, and dynamical systems, are considered as categorical models.

Tiziana Terranova draws attention to the necessity of questioning how algorithmically enabled automation works “in terms of control and monetization” and “what kind of time and energy” is being subsumed by it (Terranova 387). Cryptocurrencies are payment technologies that automate the production of money-like tokens (Bergstra and Weijland) following algorithmic rules to maintain a fixed production rate. Different kinds of energy and residues, which are not always acknowledged, are involved in this process. Here I distinguish between two closely linked layers in the Bitcoin token production: first, an algorithmic layer, which contains the instructions and rules for the creation of bitcoins; second, a hardware layer, which performs and embodies the former. While these layers work together, I will argue that they enact their own kind of logics of energy and waste. I will begin at the more visible end of the production cycle, the hardware layer, where the definition of waste and energy consumption is shared with many electronic devices; then I will trace back its algorithmic layer, which as I argue, follows a different logic.
