The paper focuses on challenges and problems of modern engineering education. The necessity of designing and constructing a new model of the educational system related to the survival of humanity and training of engineers of a new type is substantiated. The global trends in the development of engineering education, trends and requirements for the competencies of future engineers are characterized. As one of the concepts for the development of engineering education, the concept of the natural structure of engineering training (NL) has been considered. The main innovative components of the NL concept are highlighted. Based on the code of professional ethics of an engineer, the main provisions of the Leonardo oath for engineers are formulated as a reference for curricula in engineering education.

The aim of the article is to present a model of training engineers based on new approaches to engineering education, taking into account the modern achievements of psychology. The authors believe that the main reason for the insufficient level of engineering training is the discrepancy between the essence of the knowledge transferred to students (both form and content) to the specifics of engineering activity. Therefore, the most important task is to eliminate this contradiction. The basis of the proposed model of engineering training is the design of the educational process in the logic of engineering process in the development of innovative technology. This learning technology called “Simulation-Activity Technology of Engineering Training” (SATET) has been developed and tested at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI in training engineersdevelopers of innovative technology. The foundations laid in the proposed technology of engineering training, and the mechanisms for its implementation can be considered as a start for the development of a new paradigm of training engineers.

Modern engineering education focuses on enhancing the comprehensive quality of talents and training their practice, innovation as well as openness. In this case, the course of numerical control machine tools and programming must respond positively to the development demand in higher vocational colleges. Under the guidance of its ideas, through purposefully, designedly integrating curriculum resources, strengthening practice teaching and reforming teaching methods together with teaching means, this paper aims at cultivating well-qualified engineering talents to better adapt to the development of society, science and technology in the 21st century.

In the course of the study, it was revealed that the criteria for the effectiveness of training engineers is the compliance of their competencies formed in the process of training with the requirements of the production in General and the employer in particular. Aims of the present study: to identify the main global trends in engineering education, determine the criteria for the effectiveness of training engineering personnel and analyze the compliance of graduate training with these requirements. Methodology, methods. The study was conducted among graduates; teachers of engineering areas of training of the Crimean engineering and pedagogical University named after Fevzi Yakubov, as well as among managers of enterprises of the Republic of Crimea, potentially being employers for the studied special-ties during 2019 A total of 412 respondents were interviewed. Of these, there are 248 graduates of engineering training areas (final courses), 92 teachers of engineering training areas, and 72 employers. The experimental object of the study was engineering education in higher education. Results: Engineering education is a continuous process of accumulating General cultural and professional competencies in the direction of secondary education – secondary vocational education – technical University. The criterion for the effectiveness of training engineers is the compliance of their competencies formed in the process of training with the requirements of the production in General and the employer in particular.

In service to wider national strategies, the Plan for Educating and Training Outstanding Engineers (petoe) is a pilot reform initiative of higher education in China. It is a comprehensive, innovative, and unprecedented national plan putting forward four key tasks to establish a new multi-sector collaboration mechanism in engineering education. The new mechanisms include multi-sector coordination, participatory guidance of industry, joint training based on industry-university collaboration, and supportive policies of central and local governments. The purposes of the plan are to bridge the gap of supply and demand, promote the partnership between university and industry, and enhance the adaptability of engineering education to social and economic development. This paper discusses the above content with a focus on the challenges of Chinese engineering education, key mechanisms, program progress, impacts, and challenges for next steps.

Development and formation of competitive person is the most important task of educational system. Now the «new» type of the person is needed, which is capable to self-organization, searching of new fi elds of activity and new objects of application of his forces, which is ready for overcoming of diffi culties and solution of arising tasks. Development and formation of personality by means of environment, through environment and cultivated in it and with its help lifestyle allows to remove a contradiction between education and training, to integrate the school activity indicators and to improve them due to created system. The author defends a position, according to which the modeling of educational process as creating the environment in form and personal according to the content with subsequent realization of model in the practical sphere is the main way to result quality improvement.

This paper aims to share the experience acquired with students of the 3rd year (namely the 12th grade of the Portuguese educational system) at the Vocational School for the Recovery of Heritage of Sintra in the Course of Studies for Conservation and Restoration Assistants in the field of Plaster Restoration, in the classes of Work-Related Training and Analytical Methods of Examination and Laboratory Analysis, by carrying out theoretical-practical work and training in a work context specifically focused on Portuguese heritage, demonstrating how practical classes motivate students and prepare them for future professional work. This vocational course helps students to reflect and question themselves on the role of “looking” at heritage. Thus, its cross information, both interdisciplinary and from the historical-artistic context of the monument, will provide a better perspective over its materiality and its use. In situ learning awakens students to the reality of work. The notion that they are helping to maintain the memory of ancestors credits them and gives them confidence in their work. After presenting their Final Year Projects, they look at heritage with a more awakened vision. With this, they have the perception that they have contributed to the reconstruction of memory, their cultural heritage.
