This outline is dedicated to the reconstruction of an individual cultural code of high school students, who, due to the 2020 lockdown, were forced to self-isolate from peers and limit their school activity to online contacts. Based on the analysis of students’ written assignments, the author discusses what builds their identity and impacts the outlook on the world, as well as reconstructs youth’s beliefs regarding the role of old and contemporary, elitist and popular art. The study indicates the spheres of life important to young people, documents their understanding of how being apart, they can still demonstrate care of others, and emphasises the significance of students’ independence and benefits arising from recognition of their empowerment. The statements of high school girls and boys quoted by the researcher inspire further reflections on both the objectives of humanities education and the means of their implementation.

Promoting an intercultural perspective in education must rely on a certain vision upon society. Given the special significance in educational approaches, the intercultural approach is a new way of designing and implementing the school curriculum and a new relational attitude among teachers, students and parents. The intercultural perspective opens new avenues for the manifestation of diversity and differences. Intercultural positioning is not reduced to a cumulative presentation of knowledge about the values of others, but it means cultivating attitudes of respect and openness to diversity. This attitude is born through a permanent communication with others and through a careful and optimal decentralization towards one’s own cultural norms. Therefore, the management of the intercultural conflicts made in the context of school learning experiences must be related to the dynamic perspective on the changes that characterize the educational reality in terms of educational innovation. As a consequence, a pertinent analysis of this phenomenon is required, in order to bring the necessary restructuring in order to optimize school activity and prevent conflict management between students belonging to different cultures, being known the fact that the more elaborate the interaction, the more effective and productive it becomes.

This article compares democratic participation research in Scottish schools over a 10-year period. The comparison reveals how ‘organic’ aspects of decision-making arise in arenas of school activity. We argue that research heretofore has focussed on pupil councils to the exclusion of more everyday embedded and embodied choices. Primary researchers in the studies revisited data, drawing on their respective theoretical frameworks, to consider how new materialist perspectives offer ways to attend differently to the recursive, relational dynamics of participation.

School activity is characterized by high physical and mental demands. Any failure to adapt these requests to the possibilities of the age group can be associated with school failure. The study was carried out on a group of 208 students from the 9thgrade from three high schools in Iasi county. A questionnaire regarding school activity and the causes of the phenomenon of school fatigue was applied. The results were processed using Pearson's chi-squared test. The students are constantly preparing only for certain subjects (72.59%). In most cases (65.86%) adolescents admit that they have been taughthow to study only in certain subjects. Fatigue is often present in 58.65% of students. The students attribute the occurrence of this phenomenon to the numerous subjects they have to study (55.76), the large volume of homework (51.92%), insufficient sleep (48.55%), teachers being too strict (25%), or the breaks being too short (25%). Special attention must be paidto night time sleep which is insufficient in 66,82% of cases. Many factors that generate school fatigue must be known and carefully assessed in order to reduce the frequency of this phenomenon.
