Engineering training is an important course to cultivate college students' practical ability, engineering consciousness and innovative spirit, and it is a necessary means to realize the goal of cultivating innovative talents. The teaching of CAD/CAM practical training has been constantly updated, keep pace with the time, use interesting modeling cases as a teaching guide. The practical teaching mode with aviation parts as the main teaching content, let college students get substantial exercise in engineering training.

The Engineering training center is an important base to train the engineering quality and skill of university students, and it plays an important role in the university education. The ideological and political links of practical teaching are deeply studied and discussed, and the teaching results of Engineering Training Center are fully utilized to form a brand-new practical teaching form.

Global industry is at the heart of its fourth industrial revolution, being driven by the emergence of new digital solutions: Augmented reality allows us to consider the evolution towards the “the augmented operator”. This technology is currently little used in higher education, especially for mechanical engineers. We believe that it can facilitate learning and develop autonomy. The objective of this work is to assess the relevance of augmented reality in this context, as well as its impact on learning. The difficulties for a student approaching a technical system are related to reading and understanding 2D and even 3D representations, lack of knowledge on components functions, and the analysis of the chain of power transmission and transformation of movement. The research is intended to see if AR technologies are relevant to answer these issues and help beginners get started. To that end, several AR scenarios have been developed on different mechanical systems, using the relevant features of the AR interfaces that we have identified. Otherwise, these experiences have enabled us to identify specific issues linked to the implementation of AR. Our choice of AR devices and software allows us to have an integrated digital chain with digital tools and files used by mechanical engineers. Finally, we sought to assess how this technology made it possible to overcome the difficulties of learners, in different learning situations.

The state of the system of current engineering education is given. It has been identified that the engineering training of personnel requires a constant transformation of the educational process. The methodological and scientific approaches implemented in the training of technical specialists are disclosed. A model of the transformation of engineering education at the engineering faculty of the Ulyanovsk State Agrarian University, which since 1950 has been conducting high-quality training of engineers according to current programs of higher education, is presented

Abstract We report on the study of student difficulties regarding a heat engine in the context of a Stirling cycle by the method of measurement. An in-class test about a Stirling engine with a regenerator was taken by three classes, and the students were asked to perform one of the most basic activities—calculate the efficiency of the heat engine. Our data indicate that quite a few students have not developed a robust conceptual understanding of basic engineering knowledge of the heat engine. Notably, the error ratio of the class given a simple tutorial of engineering knowledge is smaller than those of the other two classes by more than 20%. In addition, both the written answers and post-test interviews show that most of the students cannot associate Carnot’s theorem with a Stirling cycle. Our results suggest that both scientific and engineering knowledge are important and should be included in instructional approaches, especially in the thermodynamics course taught in the countries and regions with a tradition of not paying much attention to experimental education or engineering training.

Through school-enterprise cooperation, jointly formulate industry-university cooperation and collaborative education programs, build innovative talent training models and curriculum systems, strengthen internship training, highlight practical capabilities, and cultivate the combination of knowledge and skills, technology and management, ability and quality combining applied talents. Establish cross-disciplinary and professional innovation courses, explore the establishment of a new mechanism for cross-faculty, cross-disciplinary, and cross-professional training of innovative and entrepreneurial talents, and promote the transformation of talent training from a single type of discipline to a multi-disciplinary integration.
