Linear encoder as an important displacement measurement device has been widely used in manufacturing industry. The accuracy of linear encoder is based on the precision of its scales. In this article, the manufacturing process of the scales based on photolithography process and etching process was discussed in order to explain the opening ratio variation. A mathematical model was derived to analyze the effects of opening ratio variation on the waveform of output signal. The result shows that the waveform of the signal is cut off in comparison with the ideal waveform, and the magnitude of the output signal is changed.

In order to study on stability of hydroelectric generating set under isolated grid, taking hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical system into consideration to build the mathematical model. This paper has researched on the main governor parameters sensitivity in the small fluctuations transition process of complex hydropower station under isolated grid. According to the simulated results, KP or KI increases, or KD decreases appropriately, governor quality of small fluctuation transition process will be better. The influence caused by KD is the most obvious of the three.

To reduce the noise error existing in the output signal of fiber optic gyroscopes (FOGs) and increase the precision of the FOGs, this paper established a mathematical model of the FOGs output signal, analyzed the error characteristics of the FOGs output signal, put forward a new de-noising arithmetic based on the wavelet transform, soft and hard threshold compromise filtering, threshold values were determined by multi-dimensions recursion arithmetic. Through experiment, it has been already validated that the proposed approach had the competitive performances on visual quality, signal to noise ratio (SNR) and the standard variation, it is effective in eliminating the white noises existing in the output signal of the FOG.

The obtained generalized mathematical model of micromechanical and rotary vibrating gyroscopes as meters of angular velocity and transfer functions of meters. The features of the dynamics of vibration gyros according to the generalized model and their influence on the properties of the transfer function of the angular velocity meter are determined. The properties of the constant error and the trend of the output signal of micromechanical gyroscopes are investigated.

Harmonics in general are defined as positive integer multiples of the fundamental frequency, which dominate an electrical system due to the presence of linear and non-linear components which include transformers, inductors, capacitors, long transmission lines also occur due to effects such as the Corona Effect. Harmonics also occur due to the presence of active loads, transmission phenomenon and base vectors. The presence of harmonics within a circuit causes the distortion of the generated waveforms of the supply voltage or frequency. This enables complete distortion of the output signal and waveforms. This article is an intricate case study on the designing procedure of different types of passive filters and their simulated results, used for the harmonics reduction at the source side considering different types of load at the receiving end, covering a wide area of distortion due to ambidextrous properties

On the basis of interdisciplinary modelling methods the mathematical model of the electromechanical system, including power transformer, induction motors and synchronous motors, is formulated and presented in the paper. The motors are joined with the driven objects through a mechanical power transmission system. In addition, the transformer is loaded by nonlinear circuit RL. Differential state equations of the studied system are given as the Cauchy’s formulas. Numerical simulations of the system operation have been made for the selected cases. The results of computer simulation are presented in a graphic form.

A new mathematical model has been achieved, for the calculation of DFT and its inversion depending on the indices which represent the shortest way for referring to the elements, pixels or pixels in each slide dealing with 1-D, 2-D, and 3-D digital signals respectively. This method indicates clearly the contribution factor of each input signal element in each output signal element.

Electrodynamic geophones are applied in seismic prospecting, seismology and security systems. Devices with a similar design can be used as a generator in devices for energy storage, in active vibration control systems, and for detection of shallow-buried objects, including mines. To control the quality of geophones and verify the constancy of their characteristics during the manufacture, it is necessary to measure their frequency response on a shake table. The mathematical model of the geophone developed by JSC Scientific Research Engineering Institute (Balashikha, Moscow region) installed on a shake table is considered. The geophone schematic design is given, and the sequence of its operation is described. The approach of dividing an electromechanical system into several subsystems with subsequently uniting them into a resulting model is used for developing the geophone overall mathematical model. Detailed descriptions of the electrical, magnetic, and mechanical subsystems are presented. The assumptions used in compiling the overall mathematical model describing the geophone operation on the shake table are listed. A system of equations describing the interaction of the subsystems is compiled. Detailed descriptions of the resulting mathematical model, each of its element, and the interface included in its composition are presented. To estimate the developed mathematical model, the results obtained from the calculations on it are compared with the results from testing two experimental samples in the geophone operating frequency band from 10 to 100 Hz. For better clarity, the obtained results are compared in graphical form. The comparison has shown that the discrepancy between the results does not exceed 5% by the output signal amplitude. From the viewpoint of practical implementation, the developed mathematical model can be used in designing new geophones with other parameters, for example, with another natural frequency, or with a higher value of the output signal. It can also be used to develop more complex mathematical models containing a geophone. The accomplished study became a basis for elaborating a more complex mathematical model of a geophone with two natural frequencies in the operating band.
