Mass use of metals as structural materials, exactly iron (steels), has a significant lack related with their destruction in natural and man-made corrosive environments. The article presents a brief analysis of the results and achievements of scientists and specialists of UPI-USPTU obtained in the study of theoretical and practical aspects of the creation and application of electrochemical corrosion inhibitors. The main attention is paid to the action of acidic water and water-organic corrosive media on the surface of metals and structural materials used in the creation of oil refining equipment. In the period from 1960 to 2010, a number of corrosion inhibitors based on heterocyclic compounds were developed in UPI-USPTU to prevent the destruction of metal and steel alloys in natural and man-made aggressive environments, the mechanism of their action was established and the efficiency of practical use was justified.

Corrosion inhibitors are widely used for protection of technological equipment and pipelines in the oil and gas industry. However, the operation of these objects under the influence of corrosive media of high aggressiveness and the widespread use of new constructive materials call for development of increasingly effective reagents. In this regard, the creation of competitive inhibitors that provide a high protective effect is a very urgent task, the solution of which is of significant importance for the country's economy. The paper considers the synthesis of new corrosion inhibitors based on quaternary ammonium compounds and the study of the effectiveness of their practical application in the implementation of anticorrosion protection of oilfield equipment made of carbon steel 20 and low-alloy steel. It has been established that as a result of the synthesis based on triethanolamine and orthophosphoric acid, triethylamine and 1,3-dichloropropene, and also condensation of polyethylene polyamine with 1,2-dichrolylethane, it is possible to obtain high-molecular compounds that effectively inhibit corrosion processes in oil and gas equipment proceeding along the electrochemical mechanism. To study the protective properties of the developed corrosion inhibitors, gravimetric analysis was used. It has been established that some nitrogen- and phosphorus-containing quaternary compounds under conditions similar to those in oil fields exhibit rather high inhibitory protection effects, and therefore can be recommended as a basis for the creation of new inhibitors of corrosion of tubular steels in mineralized reservoir environments. It is shown that the maximum inhibitory protection effects of the developed inhibitors are achieved at their moderate concentrations in the mineralized formation water, and with an increase in the concentration, the corrosion rate of the tested tubular steels is substantially reduced.Forcitation:Khaydarova G.R., Tyusenkov F.S., Bugai D.E., Raskildina G.Z., Islamutdinova A.A., Sidorov G.M. Metal-carbon nanocomposites have been investigated as additives to enhance the protective effect of corrosion inhibitors. Two inhibitors were used as corrosion inhibitors. Inhibitor VNH-L-113 (1-morpholinomethylcyclohexylamine) belongs to Schiff bases, which are known as corrosion inhibitors in neutral and acidic media. Inhibitor SNPKh-1004 is often used in the practice of corrosion protection in the oil and gas industry. For research, an electrochemical method was applied using corrosion rate meters of the Monicor type. Neutral aqueous solution and water simulating the corrosive environment of oil fields were chosen as corrosive media. The result shows, that the copper-carbon nanocomposite enhances the protective effect of corrosion inhibitors of various chemical nature in various corrosive environments. The studies carried out make it possible to consider the use of metal-carbon nanocomposites as a promising direction for increasing the effectiveness of inhibitors in the oil and gas industry.

Abstract EASTERN STAINLESS TYPE 309S is a heat-resisting grade of stainless steel. Because of its high alloy content, it resists scaling up to 2000 F. It also has good tensile and creep properties and elevated temperatures. Type 309S has good ductility and malleability; therefore, difficult shapes and structures can be fabricated easily and it can be machined readily. It can be welded easily and gives strong, ductile welds. Some of its many applications are annealing boxes, boiler baffles, dryers, furnace parts, heat exchangers and oil-refining equipment. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as creep. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-441. Producer or source: Eastern Stainless Steel Company.

This review looks into the state of gigacycle fatigue behavior of some structural materials used in engineering works. Particular attention is given to the use of ultrasonic fatigue testing machine (USF-2000) due to its important role in conducting gigacycle fatigue tests. Gigacycle fatigue behavior of most materials used for very long life engineering applications is reviewed.Gigacycle fatigue behavior of magnesium alloys, aluminum alloys, titanium alloys, spheroid graphite cast iron, steels and nickel alloys are reviewed together with the examination of the most common material defects that initiate gigacycle fatigue failures in these materials. In addition, the stage-by-stage fatigue crack developments in the gigacycle regime are reviewed. This review is concluded by suggesting the directions for future works in gigacycle fatigue.
