Objective: Dynamic Knee Valgus (DKV) causes many acute and chronic knee injuries during deceleration and landing in sports activities and can affect the athletes’ specific skills. This study aims to investigate the effect of 6 weeks of progressive jump-landing training on jump shooting accuracy and knee valgus angle in male basketball players with DKV. Methods: This is a quasi-experimental study conducted on 24 male basketball players with DKV in Mazandaran, who were selected purposefully. They were randomly divided into training and control groups. Their jump shooting accuracy was assessed by Boddington’s Basketball Jump Shooting Accuracy Test, and their DKV angle was measured by a two-dimensional evaluation method in Quinoa software. In addition to their routine exercises, the training group performed the jump-landing training for 6 weeks at 3 sessions per week, while the control group performed their usual exercises only. In order to compare the two study groups, ANCOVA was used. Results: The progressive jump-landing program had a significant effect on jump shooting accuracy (P=0.001) and DKV angle (P=0.001). Conclusion: Six weeks of progressive jump-landing training can improve the jump shooting accuracy and knee valgus angle in basketball players with DKV. Therefore, jump landing exercises are recommended for improving the jump shooting skill and knee alignment in these athletes.

The main aim of the present study was to compare the effects of flywheel strength training and traditional strength training on fitness attributes. Thirty-six well trained junior basketball players (n = 36; 17.58 ± 0.50 years) were recruited and randomly allocated into: Flywheel group (FST; n = 12), traditional strength training group (TST; n = 12) and control group (CON; n = 12). All groups attended 5 basketball practices and one official match a week during the study period. Experimental groups additionally participated in the eight-week, 1–2 d/w equivolume intervention conducted using a flywheel device (inertia = 0.075 kg·m−2) for FST or free weights (80%1 RM) for TST. Pre-to post changes in lower limb isometric strength (ISOMET), 5 and 20 m sprint time (SPR5m and SPR20m), countermovement jump height (CMJ) and change of direction ability (t-test) were assessed with analyses of variance (3 × 2 ANOVA). Significant group-by-time interaction was found for ISOMET (F = 6.40; p = 0.000), CMJ (F = 7.45; p = 0.001), SPR5m (F = 7.45; p = 0.010) and T test (F = 10.46; p = 0.000). The results showed a significantly higher improvement in CMJ (p = 0.006; 11.7% vs. 6.8%), SPR5m (p = 0.001; 10.3% vs. 5.9%) and t-test (p = 0.045; 2.4% vs. 1.5%) for FST compared to the TST group. Simultaneously, th FST group had higher improvement in ISOMET (p = 0.014; 18.7% vs. 2.9%), CMJ (p = 0.000; 11.7% vs. 0.3%), SPR5m (p = 0.000; 10.3% vs. 3.4%) and t-test (p = 0.000; 2.4% vs. 0.6%) compared to the CON group. Players from the TST group showed better results in CMJ (p = 0.006; 6.8% vs. 0.3%) and t-test (p = 0.018; 1.5% vs. 0.6%) compared to players from the CON group. No significant group-by-time interaction was found for sprint 20 m (F = 2.52; p = 0.088). Eight weeks of flywheel training (1–2 sessions per week) performed at maximum concentric intensity induces superior improvements in CMJ, 5 m sprint time and change of direction ability than equivolumed traditional weight training in well trained junior basketball players. Accordingly, coaches and trainers could be advised to use flywheel training for developing power related performance attributes in young basketball players.

The “bring your own device” (BYOD) program is positioned as one of the fastest-emerging methods to solve accessibility problems in the flipped learning methodology. The objective of the study is to analyze the potential of a training plan through inverted learning using the BYOD program compared to inverted learning without BYOD. A quasi-experimental design was carried out on a sample of 118 Higher Education students. A questionnaire was used as an instrument for data collection. The results show that the assessments of the study groups, both control and experimental, are at medium–high levels, which shows a significant incidence of the teaching and learning methodologies applied in both groups. There are only three dimensions in which a distance is observed between the groups’ assessments: motivation and autonomy, which were better valued by the experimental group, and class time, which was better valued by the control group. The study concludes that there are no great differences between the teaching methodologies applied in the groups that were subjected to experimentation, except in terms of motivation and autonomy, making these methodologies reliable for the development of these dimensions.

Context Hopping exercises are recommended as a functional training tool to prevent lower limb injury, but their effects on lower extremity biomechanics in those with chronic ankle instability (CAI) are unclear. Objective To determine if jump-landing biomechanics change after a hop-stabilization intervention. Design Randomized controlled clinical trial. Setting Research laboratory. Patients or Other Participants Twenty-eight male collegiate basketball players with CAI were divided into 2 groups: hop-training group (age = 22.78 ± 3.09 years, mass = 82.59 ± 9.51 kg, height = 187.96 ± 7.93 cm) and control group (age = 22.57 ± 2.76 years, mass = 78.35 ± 7.02 kg, height = 185.69 ± 7.28 cm). Intervention(s) A 6-week supervised hop-stabilization training program that consisted of 18 training sessions. Main Outcome Measure(s) Lower extremity kinetics and kinematics during a jump-landing task and self-reported function were assessed before and after the 6-week training program. Results The hop-stabilization program resulted in improved self-reported function (P < .05), larger sagittal-plane hip- and knee-flexion angles, and greater ankle dorsiflexion (P < .05) relative to the control group. Reduced frontal-plane joint angles at the hip, knee, and ankle as well as decreased ground reaction forces and a longer time to peak ground reaction forces were observed in the hopping group compared with the control group after the intervention (P < .05). Conclusions The 6-week hop-stabilization training program altered jump-landing biomechanics in male collegiate basketball players with CAI. These results may provide a potential mechanistic explanation for improvements in patient-reported outcomes and reductions in injury risk after ankle-sprain rehabilitation programs that incorporate hop-stabilization exercises.

Introduction: higher education has experienced a number of changes in the teaching field due to the current situation. In this context, e-learning through educational platforms has taken on great value in the teaching-learning process. Objective: to apply an educational intervention through the Moodle platform to consolidate the skills of the English language in the students of the industrial maintenance career of the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo during the special period April-September 2020. Methodology: this investigation was carried out in the context of mandatory teleworking due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This mixed research had a descriptive approach with a quasi-experimental focus. To achieve the main goal, 70 students from the third semester took an active part in it who were divided into two study groups: the control group and the experimental group, with 35 students respectively. Before the intervention phase, information was collected through a survey which yielded important general data related to their socio-demographic information and self-perception of their level of English. At the same time, a pre-test of knowledge of the language was taken from the students which was based on the Cambridge PET exam. With this exam, data were obtained for the development of the intervention plan that was implemented throughout the semester. Results: after the intervention phase, the students took a post-test and the corresponding means could be compared. They obtained 9.20 for the control group and 11.99 for the experimental group as final scores. Conclusion: it is concluded that the Moodle Platform is a valuable didactic support to improve English language skills.

Purpose: This study aimed to compare the effect of corrective exercise and corrective games on upper crossed syndrome in female students. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study performed with the pre-test and post-test method. The study sample consisted of 60 people who were selected purposely, based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and the rate of the disorder. In the study sample, the mean±SD of age, height, and weight were 14.16±1.08 years, 133.49±5.59 cm, and 44.73±8.24 kg, respectively. The study samples were randomly assigned into three groups: corrective exercises group (n=20), corrective games group (n=20), and control group (n=20). Students with upper extremity syndrome were first identified through checkered screening and the New York test. Then, the subjects of both intervention groups performed the selected training programs for eight weeks, based on the defined protocols. Finally, the one-way ANOVA, paired t-test, and Bonferroni post hoc test were used to compare the between-group differences. Also, the significance level was considered as P<0.05. Results: After eight weeks of exercise, the intra-group changes in head forward, kyphosis, and shoulder angle were significant in the corrective exercises group (P=0.001) and the corrective games group (P=0.001). Also, the three study groups significantly differed in frontal angle, kyphosis, and shoulder angle (P=0.001). Conclusion: According to the findings, the corrective exercises and corrective games can effectively reduce the angle of head forward, kyphosis, and shoulder in affected persons. Therefore, researchers and specialists should plan these programs. Moreover, it is recommended to use the corrective exercises used in this study with the mentioned principles and have direct and accurate supervision of their implementation to ensure the correctness of the movements.

The aim of this study was to determine the biology learning outcomes of Grade VII students of Madani Junior High School of Makassar on the subject of diversity of living creatures that were learned with the Multiple Intelligence learning models. This type of research is quasi-experimental (quasi-experimental) using a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study were all VII grade students of Madani Junior High School of Makassar in the 2018/2019 school year consisting of 3 study groups totaling 67 students with a sample of 21 people in class VII2 and 21 people in class VII1.The results showed that the value of sig.count was 0.889 with sig.table (α) of 2.021. Thus it is clearly seen that the value of sig.calculate (0.889) <sig.table (2.021), means that H0 is rejected H1 is accepted, meaning it can be concluded that the biology learning outcomes of students taught by the Multiple Intelegences learning model have a positive effect on the material diversity of living things in Madani Junior High School of Makassar.

This study aimed to identify the Effect of Using EDRAAK Educational Platform on the Academic Achievement among the Tenth Graders and Their Attitudes towards It, the sample of the study consisted of (50) students from the tenth grade in the Petra District Education Directorate, who were randomly divided into two groups (experimental and control). The researchers used the quasi-experimental approach, and the study tools consisted of a multiple-choice test of (20) items to measure student achievement, and an attitudes scale consisting of (24) items, and the results of the study showed There were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α≤0.05) for teaching using EDRAAK platform on the achievement of tenth grade students in basic mathematics, where the value of t = 3.616 and by looking at the average achievement of the members of the two study groups (experimental and control) on the post-test we find that the difference is due to the average achievement of the experimental group students, which reached (10.64), while the average achievement of the control group on the post-test was (7.24). The results also showed that there are statistically significant differences at the significance level (α≤0.05) for teaching using EDRAAK educational platform on the attitudes of the tenth grade basic students towards mathematics, where the value of t = 2.42, and by looking at the average trends of the members of the two study groups (experimental and control) on the post-test (attitudes), we find that the differences between the averages of students attitudes on the post-test are in the interest of the group’s students the experimental group reached (2.89), while the average attitudes of the control group students reached (2.68). The researchers recommend the necessity of adopting educational platforms as an integral part of the education process in the schools of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
