<p>In metropolitan cities, we will see an enormous rush at shopping malls on holidays and weekends. This becomes, even more, once there are large offers and discounts. Currently folks purchase a spread of things and place them within the trolley, after buying one ought to approach the counter for billing. By employing a barcode reader the cashier prepares the bill that may be a time overwhelming method. This ends up in long queues at the billing counters. This project presents a plan to build up a framework in shopping centers to beat the above issue. To realize this all merchandise within the mall to be equipped with RFID tags and every one trolley should be equipped with an RFID reader and digital display screen. When one puts any item in the trolley its code will be distinguished naturally, the item name and cost will be shown on the LCD, in this manner the expense gets added to the absolute bill. On the off chance that we wish to expel the item from the trolley, you can remove the item and the measure of that particular item gets deducted from the aggregate sum and a similar data goes to the central billing unit through ZigBee module. Subsequently the billing should be possible in the trolley itself accordingly sparing a ton of time to the clients.</p>

Shopping malls are a much more convenient place where people buy products of daily necessity. On holidays, a lot of rush can be seen in shopping malls and it becomes a very tedious task to get the billing done. In cosmopolitan cities, to shop at supermarkets and shopping markets an everyday task. Everyone of us has encountered long queues for the payment of the bill at shopping centers during holidays and weekends, the rush increase seven more at the time of festive seasons because of the discounts and product offers. Customers pick the products they want to buy and put them into their shopping carts. After customers have picked the products, they need to get the billing done. For the payment of the bill, they have to move to billing counter. At the billing counter the cashier, scans the products using a barcode scanner and then produces the bill. This is a manually operated process and hence, time consuming. Therefore, it leads to the long queues at billing counters. This paper proposes a way to develop a brilliant shopping cart system that will monitor the purchased products and help produce the bill in a less time-consuming way. This paper looks forward to solving the problem of rush at billing counter using a barcode scanner and RF transceiver that sends and receives the data.

Shopping malls, super market Big Bazaar’s, D -Marts are the place where thousands of customers visit every day to purchase many products. We can see huge rush at malls on holidays and weekends. Today purchasing various products in malls or supermarkets require a trolley. The rush is even more when there are special offers and discount. People purchase different items and put them in trolley. After total purchase one needs to go to billing counter for payments. At the billing counter the cashier prepare the bill using barcode scanner which is a time consuming process and results in long queues at billing counters. Our aim is to develop a system that can be used in shopping malls to solve the above mentioned challenge. In our project the customers have to scan barcode of every product through the use of barcode scanner which they wish to purchase and drop into the shopping cart and then proceed for billing. This is implemented using an android application and barcode scanner.

This chapter investigates Asian American-oriented shopping centers. It shows that these malls are central in the lives of Asian American suburbanites. For many, the malls serve their practical needs, support vital social networks, and foster their sense of place, community, and connection to the larger Asian diaspora. But these vibrant pseudopublic spaces are also deeply contested. In Fremont, many non-Asian American residents, policy makers, and planners have charged that these malls are socially exclusionary and questioned their deviance in form and norm from the conventions of suburban retail. The chapter shows how these debates have framed ethnic shopping malls as “problem spaces” that required greater regulation and scrutiny. Yet planners and city officials have also used their power to regulate and control these shopping centers to promote particular visions of multiculturalism that are more aligned with their projected image of a middle-class suburb.

The most valuable thing in today’s world is time, people are referring those things which consumes less time. Billing in Shopping mall takes lot of time. Billing of products from mall is quite difficult because it takes more time as people have to wait for a long time in a queue for billing .Looking at the advancement in technology, we came up with an innovative idea of “Smart Shopping Cart for Automatic Billing in Supermarket”. This project consists of RFID reader, motion detector sensor, Liquid Crystal Display, push buttons, switches . If user wants to use smart trolley functions then start button should be pressed. When a user put some product in trolley then its code will be detected using RFID reader and cost of a product added to the list and sensor will sense the direction of motion of the product for fault detection and buzzer will be on if fault detected. In case, if user wants to remove some product then user should press the remove switch and product code will be detected by RFID reader and again for any false activity buzzer will be on. At last, counter with least number of queues will be detected and displayed on the cart LCD.

Nowadays IoT has its influence over every sector of life ,striving hard to improve quality of life. Obsonium is a never ending business and to improve the quality of obsonium we can take the help of technology. In today’s technology, many companies are developing products that ensure convenience toward all people who needs a good obsonium experience from today’s hectic obsonium which takes a lot of time for billing and getting out. Thus, we have developed a Smart Obsonium Cart, that allows faster check-out. First the product will have a RFID card which will filled first by shop Admin with other de- tails of the product. Then cart uses the RFID reader technology to identify the products details which is already available in the database. The total cost will be displayed on the mobile attached to the cart as and when the product is added to the cart. The user can view the details of the product on his mobile. IoT helps to design such a cart which will automatically scan the product and add the respective amount to be paid in the bill on our own smart phone itself. Technologies used in this system are RFID tags and RFID reader for fetching the price of each unique item. Arduino microcontroller to perform the sum of the prices of the products and to prepare the final bill. Mobile application for the final display of bill and the complete obsonium list. Security is provided by the weight scanner and validating the products bought to avoid tag tampering. All the item’s information is stored in the cloud at first. Checkout verification is also done by passing the cart after payment through a lane with RFID readers.

In modern days, people are getting too busy in their works but still they need to spend time in shopping malls. In Shopping malls, customers face a difficulty to follow a queue for the process of billing, which takes a long time under huge crowd. Customer thought that, to avoid the standing time in the billing section at shopping malls. To overcome the above problems, we emerged the Bascart system. To increase the pace of a billing process, RFID tags in products, then the product is read by the barcode scanner which describes the cost of that product and is displays on the LCD screen attached in our shopping list. As customer buy their exact product its price is add on the previous list. The cost of the product is displayed on the LCD screen by using microcontroller through Zigbee Communication from host PC. Zigbee supports bidirectional communication between microcontroller and host PC. We have proposed the Weighing Sensor for the purpose of checking the weight of the items and it is directly stored in the server database. Customer get direct bill at the billing section which is already stored at host PC which automatically reduces the queue. Then GSM Module in our system is used to detect the Geo-position of the customer’s mobile for the process of intimating the shopping details of the customer through messages which is already updated in database.
