This study is to determine the effect of fun book used in a science course to enhance academic achievement and retention and to investigate student's views on the use of the fun book. Another aim of the study is to set an example for process evaluation in using fun lessons for higher education students. Participants used the fun book for reasons such as learning and not forgetting the subjects, repeating the subject in a fun way, and taking notes from the teacher. The positive aspects of using the fun book was that it enabled students to learn subjects while having fun, prevented them from forgetting material, and it made it easier for teachers to take notes by preparing for the exam. The negative aspects of using the fun book were that students said that they considered it to be exhausting and that the intensive writing caused hand pain.

ABSTRACTThis study focuses on the transmission of moral and ethical to higher education students at classroom. This is seen as essential not only deliver specific knowledge regarding a particular discipline, but will assist in the formation of future professionals, as these will be the leaders of tomorrow. It focuses on the particular case of the Faculty of Engineering of the Catholic University of Temuco, the method of participant observation with hidden client was used to obtain the information without altering the behavior of the subject. It will be seen that the data obtained is a complex situation, as they have not generated the necessary space to establish an interaction that allows a better job in this area. The findings with the results and an assessment of fieldwork and its limitations are presented a proposal to generate a better job in the field in question and thus develop a better overall education of students is analyzed.RESUMENEl presente estudio se enfoca en la transmisión de valores morales y éticos a los alumnos de educación superior en el aula. Contacto principal: [email protected]

IntroductionThe executive functions can be conceptualized from neuropsychological studies, from aspects related to the functionality of the subject in the development of tasks. Objectiveto determine the relationship between attention processes and executive functions in higher education students. Materials and methodsThe research was developed in a sample of 42 students of the second level of the school of Psychology, of the Technical University of Manabí, of Ecuador. The type of research used was of a non-experimental nature, of a quantitative, descriptive and correlational nature. Resultsrefer that there is a negative correlation coefficient between the attentional processes and the executive functions.Discussionin a more detailed analysis of the sample reveals that males achieve higher scores. Conclusionsthe existence of a relationship between the attentional processes and the executive functions in the study sample corresponding to the students of the second level of Psychology of the Technical University of Manabí.

Physics is perceived as a difficult subject for secondary and tertiary students. A measurement of students’ attitude towards Physics must be obtained in finding ways of enhancing the teaching and learning in the colleges. Thus, this study is conducted to determine the attitude of engineering students towards physics and its relation to their academic achievement. Descriptive research design was employed in the study. Mean, standard deviation and Pearson product- moment coefficient of correlation were utilized in analyzing the data gathered. Results revealed that the students have a negative attitude towards physics subject, and their academic achievement of the subject is found to be fair or low. Further, a significant relationship was established between the students’ attitude toward Physics and their academic achievement. It is concluded that their low level of academic achievement in physics is the result of their negative attitude towards the subject. Hence, students’ negative attitude to physics influences low academic achievement.   Keywords Science Education, Physics, attitude, academic achievement, descriptive  design, Surigao City, Philippines

Educational Escape Room is an innovative method used in classrooms to motivate students. This article describes a version of Educational Escape Room applied to undergraduate students. Specifically, this work presents an adaptation of the method called Educational Hall Escape, characterized by the resolution of challenges in a game-adapted room in which several student groups compete to finish the activity in the least amount of time. To date, the Educational Hall Escape method applied to the field of business economy has not been reported in the literature. The objective of the study is to analyze the influence of the Educational Hall Escape method on the learning processes and emotions of students during the activity and its impact on their motivation and the reinforcement their competences and knowledge. An experiment was designed in which the class was divided into a control group and an experimental group. To measure the impact of the experience in the students, two tools were used: an exam and the Gamefulquest survey. Despite the fact that the results obtained show that the students perceived the experience as a game, it improved their motivation and increased their proclivity to have an emotional bond with the subject, the academic results remained steady.

There is an upsurge in the use of mobile phones among higher education students in Ghana, which may result in the nomophobia prevalence with the students. Therefore, the need to assess the influence of nomophobia within the student population in Ghana. This descriptive cross-sectional study investigated the prevalence of nomophobia and the sociodemographic variables, and the association with academic achievement of the understudied population. A self-reporting nomophobia questionnaire, composed of 20 dimensions, was answered by 670 university students to measure the nomophobia prevalence. Raw data were estimated using descriptive statistics, and one-way ANOVA and Independent T-test. While the findings showed diverse grades of nomophobia, statistical significance between academic achievement and the level of nomophobia was observed. This study concludes that there is a high nomophobia prevalence among university students in Ghana as the use of smartphones increases. However, follow-up studies should be conducted in Ghanaian universities to monitor nomophobia and its associates in order to reduce the adverse effects of habitual use of smartphones.
