Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a non-communicable disease that often suffers.Purpose: To determine the effect of progresive muscle relaxation (PMR) on reducing blood glucose levels in people with diabetes mellitus.Method: This type of research is quantitative, quasi-experimental design using non equivalent control groups. The population in this study were all DM patients in the Work Area of Ogan Lima Health Center, West Abung District, North Lampung, with a total sample of 34 respondents. Data analysis used T test analysis (dependent and independent sample t-test).Results: The results of univariate analysis showed that the average blood glucose level of respondents in the pretest group was 247.29 ± 28.431 mg / dL and posttest 210.29 ± 28.711 mg / dL. The average level of respondent's blood glucose at pretest was 255.94 ± 30.738 mg / dL and posttest 230.76 ± 25.69 mg / dL. T-dependent test results obtained by the treatment group p-value = 0,000, and the control group p-value = 0.006. T-independent test results obtained p-value = 0.035.Conclusion: There was a significant difference between the blood glucose levels of diabetics in the treatment group and the control group. Data di dunia sebanyak 422 juta orang dewasa hidup dengan diabetes, di Indonesia tahun 2018 prevalensi  diabetes meningkat dari 1,1% menjadi 2,0%, di Provinsi Lampung meningkat dari 0,8% menjadi1,6%, di Kabupaten Lampung Utara meningkat dari 0,9menjadi 1,07 %. Terapi komplementer untuk mengontrol kadar glukosa darah salah satunya dengan relaksasi otot progresif (Progresive Muscle Relaxation (PMR).Tujuan:Diketahui Pengaruh Progresive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) terhadap penurunan kadar glukosa  darah pada penderita diabetes melitus.Metode Penelitian:Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif, rancangan quasi eksperiment menggunakan non equivalent control group. Diabetes mellitus is a disease that required good self-management. Noncompliance in diet and meal plans cause the instability of blood glucose levels. Nutrition education calendar method can improve knowledge and ability to consume food that matches the number, hours and types with dietary adjustments listed in the calendar diet. This study aimed to determine the effect of nutrition education calendar method on blood glucose levels of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in Community Health Center Pakis Malang. Pre-experimental design one group pretest-posttest with purposive sampling was conducted in this study and sample obtained as many as 21 people. Blood glucose levels were measured before and after the nutrition education calendar methods. Compliance in using calendar method with the observation sheet. Statistical analysis values obtained by Wilcoxon, the p-value of 0.007 (p <0.05). The results of the analysis, 16 respondents showed a decrease in blood glucose levels and 5 respondents experienced an increase in blood glucose levels after the given intervention. It can be concluded that there are differences between blood glucose levels before and after nutrition education calendar method. Differences in blood glucose levels can be influenced by controlling diet respondent in accordance with the calendar method in education, but also antidiabetic drugs, and sports. Should be added to the control group to determine objectively the effect of nutrition education on the calendar method.

Background: Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder caused by insulin resistance. Noni juice has the potential as herbal medicine which believed to reduce blood glucose levels. This study aims to determine the effect of noni juice on blood sugar levels on diabetic patients. Methods: This study used 16 respondents. They divided two groups, a control group and a treatment group. Each group consists of 8 respondents. The intervention group received 150 ml of noni juice which was given once a day for ten days. Glucose testing was carried out by the glucose-check method. The blood was taken from the respondent's fingertips capillary. The blood glucose levels between the control group and the intervention group were analyzed using independent t-test. Results: The average blood glucose level in the intervention group was 199.88 mg/dl, while the control group was 326.25 mg/dl. The test results of the mean blood glucose levels between the control group and the intervention group had a significant difference with a value of p = 0.003 (p ≤ 0.05). This indicates a significant effect between blood glucose levels in the control group and the intervention group. Conclusion: Noni can reduce blood glucose levels because it contains flavonoid. It has a hypoglycemic effect. Health workers can suggest consuming noni juice to decrease blood glucose in diabetic patients.

 Administration of oral hypoglycemic drugs and insulin is one of the most common pharmacological treatments given to people with diabetes mellitus. This treatment is carried out in the long term so that it causes side effects and is carried out continuously so that it will affect the financial condition of the diabetes mellitus patient. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of black garlic extract on decreasing blood glucose levels in mice (mus musculus). This study uses the design of True Experimental design (pretest-posttest with control group design). The population is mice in Pusvetma Surabaya. Sampling method uses Non Probability Sampling Purposive Sampling type. Samples taken were 30 mice consisting of 15 intervention groups and 15 control groups. Data was collected using observation sheets, then analyzed using Independent sample t test and Dependent sample t test with a significance level of 5 0.05. The results showed: Using the test Independent sample T test obtained a significance value ρ = 0,000  It can be concluded that there is an effect of black onion extract to reduce blood glucose levels in mice. In the paired t-test test in the treatment group showed ρ = 0,000  that there were differences in blood glucose levels before being given extracts of garlic and after being given intervention. Background: Various complications caused by causing diabetes mellitus patients to undergo treatment at the Hospital to overcome the complaints that arise. This causes the patient to experience stress physically and psychologically. Objective: To explain the effect of progressive muscle relaxation on the stress response, blood glucose levels, and quality of life in patients with diabetes mellitus. Method: This systematic review used the PRISMA approach. The database used in this study were Scopus, Pubmed, Proquest, and Science Direct in English. Results: Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) could reduce muscle tension, stress, lower blood pressure, increased tolerance for daily activities. Regular exercise can make it easier for patients to concentrate and relax conditions will be more quickly achieved thereby increasing the performance of the adrenal glands to produced sedative hormones which will have an impact on reducing stress and decreasing blood glucose levels so that the quality of life of DM patients increased. Conclusion: PMR influences the stress response, blood glucose levels, and quality of life in patients with diabetes mellitus. Tujuan: Untuk menjelaskan pengaruh progressive muscle relaxation terhadap respon stres, kadar glukosa darah dan kualitas hidup pada pasien Diabetes Melitus. Metode: Systematic review ini menggunakan pendekatan PRISMA. Database yang digunakan adalah Scopus, Pubmed, Proquest, dan Science Direct menggunakan bahasa Inggris. Hasil: Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) mampu mengurangi ketegangan otot, menurunkan stress, menurunkan tekanan darah, meningkatkan toleransi terhadap aktivitas sehari-hari. Latihan yang teratur dapat membuat pasien lebih mudah untuk memusatkan pikiran dan kondisi rileks akan lebih cepat tercapai sehingga meningkatkan kinerja kelenjar adrenal untuk memproduksi hormon penenang yang akan berdampak pada penurunan stres dan penurunan kadar glukosa darah sehingga kualitas hidup pasien DM meningkat. Kesimpulan: PMR memiliki pengaruh terhadap respon stres, kadar glukosa darah, dan kualitas hidup pada pada pasien diabetes melitus. Background: One of the typical signs of diabetes mellitus (DM) is hyperglycemia, which is one medical condition that consists of increasing hormone levels within normal limits. Basic Health Research Results in 2018 DM prevalence in Indonesia increased from 6.9% in 2013 to 8.5% in 2018 (Ministry of Health, 2018). One of the nutritional therapies for the management of diabetes mellitus is fiber consumption. Fruit which contains high fiber, one of which is dragon fruit. Research by Wiardani et al., (2014) provides dragon fruit juice 200 grams of blood glucose levels in DM patients with an average decrease in Prondrial 2 hours Post blood calcium level (2JPP) of 79.1 mg / dL and research by Hidayati (2017) ) by giving red dragon fruit 200 grams of reduction in fasting blood by 19.1 mg / dL.Purpose :To determine the difference in levels of red dragon fruit (hylocereus polyrhizus) against decreasing fasting blood glucose levels of type 2 diabetes patien Method: Research quasy experimental pre post test with control group. Results: The results of the statistical analysis paired with the t-test in the assessment group showed differences in the fasting blood levels of the pretest-posttest with a p value of 0.008 (p <0.05), meaning that it was consistent with contributions related to blood count before and replacement. The results of the independent t-test showed that there was no difference in the difference between fasting blood levels in the advisory group and the control group that discussed the p value of 0.070. (p> 0.05).Conclusion: There is no contribution of giving red dragon fruit milk pudding (Hylocereus polyrhizus) to the reduction of blood glucose levels of type II diabetes mellitus patients.

Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia, which occurs due to abnormalities in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. Most cases of diabetes mellitus are diabetes mellitus type-2. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of hypnotherapy on reducing blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes mellitus type-2. The research used a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. Purposive sampling was used, and 30 respondents selected. The instrument in this study was a single stick tool. The intervention group was given standard therapy treatment in the form of bio-energy therapy and hypnotherapy, while the control group was only given standard therapy treatment in the form of bio-energy therapy. Univariate analysis of the results indicates that the average blood glucose level before treatment was 234.67 mg/dl and after treatment was 194.67 mg / dl. Bivariate analysis based on the results of the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test obtained a p-value of 0.002 (p-value <0.05). This means that hypnotherapy reduced blood glucose levels in diabetes mellitus type-2 sufferers. This study recommends the nursing profession apply hypnotherapy as an alternative or non-pharmacological complementary therapy that can be used to reduce blood glucose levels in people with diabetes mellitus type 2.   Keywords: Hypnotherapy, diabetes mellitus type 2, blood glucose levels

<strong>Abstrak: </strong><em>Cupping therapy</em> sudah lama dipakai oleh sebagian umat muslim dan menempati kedudukan populer di antara berbagai metode terapi alternatif lain. Bukti-bukti penelitian medis modern juga menguatkan manfaat terapi yang dianjurkan oleh Nabi. Banyak ahli pengobatan yang mengetahui khasiat <em>cupping therapy</em> dalam mengobati penyakit. Menurut <em>International Diabetes Federation</em> (IDF), pada tahun 2013 Indonesia menempati peringkat ketujuh penderita diabetes. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh <em>cupping therapy </em>terhadap kadar glukosa darah pada pasien Klinik Sehat dr. Abdurrahman Medan tahun 2014. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pra-eksperimental dengan satu kelompok <em>pre-test</em> dan <em>post-test</em> tanpa kelompok kontrol dan sampel diperoleh melalui random dengan sampel 32 orang. Berdasarkan uji Wilcoxon dengan á=0,05 didapatkan <em>p-value</em>=0,021 yang berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara rerata kadar glukosa darah sebelum dan setelah <em>cupping therapy</em> (<em>p-value </em>&lt; á)<em>.</em><br /> <br /><strong>Abstract: The Role of Islamic Treatment Method “Cupping Therapy” to Decrease Blood Glucose Levels</strong>. Cupping therapy has long been used by most Muslims and it has occupied as prominent position among therapeutic approaches.The proof of medical modern research lately have been supports expediency therapy which recommended by the prophet. Nowdays,many medical experts who know the benefits of cupping therapy in treating diseases. Diabetes melitus is a disease that is directly related to blood glucose levels. According to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) in 2013, there were 382 million people suffer from diabetes melitus worldwide and Indonesia as seventh ranks in the world. This study aims to determine the effect of cupping therapy on blood glucose levels in patients of Klinik Sehat dr. Abdurrahmân Medan in 2014. The Study used pre-experimental method with one group pre-test and post-test without a control group and sample took by randomization with a sample of 32 people. Based on the Wilcoxon test with á = 0.05 obtained  p-value = 0.021 that means there were a significant differences in mean blood glucose levels before and after cupping therapy (p-value &lt; á).<br /> <br /><strong>Kata Kunci:</strong> pengobatan Islam, <em>cupping therapy</em>, kadar gula darah

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases with characteristics of hyperglycemia that occur due to abnormal insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. In diabetes mellitus, it is very easy to occur the formation of excess free radicals which later can cause damage to the pancreas. The body is normally protected from oxidative stress by antioxidants such as superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (H2O2 oxidoreductase), and glutathione peroxidase (GPx). This research is an experimental study with posttest control group design. 25 Wistar strain male rats were divided into five treatment groups (positive control given glibenclamide drug 0.09 mg/200 gBB, a negative control was not treated, and red betel leaf extract treatment dose 100, 200, and 400 mg/kg BB). The research procedure included the conditioning of hyperglycemic with alloxan induction of 120 mg/kgBB, extraction of red betel using maceration method with 70% ethanol solvent, treatment by giving the red betel leaves extract orally for 28 days and measure the value of blood glucose and GPx using spectrophotometric methods. The research data was analyzed using one way ANOVA and linear regression. The red betel leaves extract that given to the male Wistar Rat for 28 days gave a significant effect on the value of blood glucose and GPx. The effect given by red betel leaves on blood glucose levels is 4.9%While the effect given by red betel leaves on GPx levels is 91.1%. The conclusion of this research is red betel leaves extract that given to the male Wistar Rat for 28 days gave a significant effect on the value of blood glucose and GPx. The dosage of 400 mg/kgBB is an effective dose in reducing blood glucose levels and increasing GPx levels   Diabetes melitus (DM) merupakan suatu kelompok penyakit metabolik dengan karakteristik hiperglikemia yang terjadi karena kelainan sekresi insulin, kerja insulin, atau keduanya. Diabetes melitus   mudah   sekali   terjadi pembentukan   radikal   bebas   berlebih   yang nantinya   dapat meyebabkan kerusakan pada pankreas. Tubuh dalam keadaan normal terlindungi dari stres oksidatif oleh antioksidan seperti superoksida dismutase (SOD), katalase (H2O2 oksidoreduktase), dan glutation peroksidase (GPx). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan posttest control group design. Sebanyak 25 ekor tikus jantan strain Wistar dibagi dalam lima kelompok perlakuan (kontrol posistif diberi obat glibenklamid 0,09 mg/200 gBB, kontrol negatif tidak diberi perlakuan, dan perlakuan ekstrak daun sirih merah dosis 100, 200, dan 400 mg/kg BB). Prosedur penelitian meliputi pengkondisisan hiperglikemik dengan induksi aloksan 120 mg/kgBB, ekstraksi daun sirih merah menggunakan metode maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 70%, perlakuan dengan pemberian ekstrak daun sirih merah secara oral selama 28 hari, serta pengukuran kadar glukosa darah dan kadar GPx dengan metode spektrofotometri. Analisis data menggunakan teknik oneway ANOVA dan regresi linier. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak daun sirih merah berpengaruh signifikan pada kadar glukosa dan kadar GPx setelah 28 hari perlakuan. Pengaruh yang diberikan daun sirih merah terhadap kadar glukosa darah adalah sebesar 4,9%, sedangkan pengaruh yang diberikan daun sirih merah terhadap kadar GPx adalah sebesar 91,1%. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pemberian ekstrak daun sirih merah pada tikus jantan hiperglikemik secara oral selama 28 hari berpengaruh terhadap kadar glukosa darah dan kadar GPx. Dosis 400 mg/kgBB merupakan dosis efektif dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah dan menaikkan kadar GPx.

Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a degenerative disease population increases every year. DM was ranked sixth as the cause of death. About 1.3 million people died because of diabetes and 4% died before the age of 70 years. DM auto-oxidation causes glucose to increase reactive oxygen compounds. One of the DM management is a complementary therapy using a functional food ingredient, namely, jicama and probiotics. Probiotics and jicama contain active compounds in the form of inulin and BAL and are able to control blood glucose levels. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of jicama probiotic yogurt on blood glucose levels in diabetic mice. Methods: This research is a quasi-experimental with pre–post-test control group, using a sample of DDY strain mice according to the criteria. Samples were given treatment probiotic yogurt and jicama probiotic yogurt 2 ml for seven days in the treatment group and one group of non-treated controls. The mean obtained were analyzed by dependent t-test, independent t-test, and one-way ANOVA test. Result and Conclusion: The results showed that there was a decrease in blood glucose levels in the probiotic yogurt group amounting to 296.62 mg/dL and jicama probiotic yogurt of 337.57 mg/dL, while the control group increased by 43.57 mg/dL. Results: One way ANOVA test showed jicama probiotic yogurt more effectively decreases blood glucose levels than the probiotic yogurt (p = 0.00). Jicama probiotic yogurt can be used as an alternative complementary therapy for patients with diabetes mellitus.
