Over the last thirty years, technology has created a new space (cyberspace) where people meet each other, seek information, or simply try to navigate through. However, there is no consensus in research on the character of cyberspaces and the extent to which they are real. In the first systematic empirical research of this nature, the study found an answer to this question through a survey of metaphorical accounts of university students in Information Studies, and Librarianship (N=102) collected over three years (2019-2021). Cyberspace is a real space in students' experiences, language, and thought structures. A space that allows movement, orientation, and search to be related with one another. An environment in which cognition, learning, and knowledge are structuring activities. Learning and cognition in this space occur differently than in the physical environment, which poses a challenge for developing specific didactic practices and social programs for students. Students perceive cyberspace as linked to the need to acquire new epistemic tools to help them overcome the crisis of knowledge they experience through this space. A social constructionist methodology was used to explore how Kenyan women university students interact with information in everyday life. Focus was on how participants interpret experiences within the historical, cultural, and material spaces they inhabit. Methods used were linguistics pragmatics, phenomenology, and hermeneutics. Conceptual implications for information literacy are discussed.Une méthodologie sociale constructioniste est utilisée pour explorer comment les étudiantes universitaires kenyanes interagissent avec l’information au quotidien. Nous avons insisté sur les façons dont les participantes interprètent leurs expériences dans les espaces historiques, culturels et matériels où elles habitent. Les méthodologies utilisées comprennent la pragmatique linguistique, la phénoménologie et l’herméneutique. Nous discutons finalement de leurs implications sur la maîtrise de l’information.

PRISMA (Probing Rotation and Interior of Stars: Microvariability and Activity) is a new space mission of the European Space Agency. PRISMA is currently in a Phase A study with 3 other competitors. PRISMA is the only ESA-only mission amongst those four and only one mission will be selected in Spring 1993 to become a real space mission.The goal of the Phase A study is to determine whether the payload of PRISMA can be accommodated on a second unit of the X-ray Multi-Mirror (XMM) bus; and whether the budget of the PRISMA mission can be kept below 265 MAU (’88 Economic conditions). The XMM mission is an approved cornerstone and is in a Phase A together with PRISMA.

COVID-19 has forced several changes in the teaching of Library and Information Studies. In this article we explain our experience in creating and publishing videos as educational content at the University of Barcelona. Students having to learn by distance teaching have different needs in regard to the provision of educational materials. Similarly, professors need to give the best possible experience to distance students when face-to-face courses are not possible. This leads to the question of the roles that information literacy and digital literacy play, especially for professors.

Research Roundtable: Undergraduate university students benefit from information literacy (IL) instructions and yet they resist learning IL. This research proposes to explore the factors responsible for students’ resistance to IL in order to create a conceptual model and to improve information literacy instruction.Tables rondes: Les étudiants universitaires de premier cycle tirent avantage de séances d’enseignement de la maîtrise de l’information et malgré tout, ils font preuve de résistance. This study aims to describe the empowerment of farmers in intercropping technology implementation, analyze the empowerment of farmers in the application of intercropping technology, and develop counseling strategies to increase the empowerment of farmers in the application of intercropping technology. Data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively, using multiple linear regression and determining extension strategies to increase farmer empowerment using SWOT analysis. The results showed that most farmers were of productive age (15-64 years old) with the dominant level of education in the low category (elementary / junior high) have monthly income (<Rp 4,000,000) but have experience in farming with the experienced category (11- 16 years old). Factors that affect the empowerment of farmers in intercropping technology implementation are the level of education, farming experience, the intensity of empowerment, and information availability while the factors that have no effect such as age, income level, and social physical environment. The strategy used to improve empowerment uses SWOT analysis so that the strategies. The need to do is increase innovations adoption in terms of the benefits of intercropping technology that can stabilize the harvest price accumulation. Information literacy can utilize demographic bonuses in the form of many productive ages through online e-marketing. It aligns the development of information with the synergy of cooperation between competing factors related to maximizing the potential of farm products in the field.

This study touches upon three major themes in the field of information literacy (IL): the assessment of IL, the association between IL knowledge and skills, and the dimensionality of the IL construct. Three quantitative measures were developed and tested with several samples of university students to assess knowledge and skills for core facets of IL. These measures are freely available, applicable across disciplines, and easy to administer. Results indicate they are likely to be reliable and support valid interpretations. By measuring both knowledge and practice, the tools indicated low to moderate correlations between what students know about IL, and what they actually do when evaluating and using sources in authentic, graded assignments. The study is unique in using actual coursework to compare knowing and doing regarding students’ evaluation and use of sources. It provides one of the most thorough documentations of the development and testing of IL assessment measures to date. Results also urge us to ask whether the source-focused components of IL – information seeking, source evaluation and source use – can be considered unidimensional constructs or sets of disparate and more loosely related components, and findings support their heterogeneity.
