Introduction. The Covid-19 pandemic toppled the global economy and common ways of working, forcing students and teachers to take classes online in conditions that are not ergonomically suitable for their health. Objective. Anthropometrically design a chair and desk for a group of students receiving online graduate classes and mitigate ergonomic risk. Methods. It began by determining the real dimensions of the main anthropometric elements that determine a group of professionals who study online and then applying percentile calculations to choose the best dimension of 14 parts of a chair and a desk that mitigates the level of ergonomic risk. Results. From the application of the calculation of the percentiles for a population of 35 students considering a class mark (m) of 6 for 14 anthropometric dimensions that coincide with 14 important parts of the design, the following dimensions were chosen: seat height 42.49 cm, space between legs and table 17.39 cm, seat depth 44.68 cm, table height 53.93 cm, armrest height 22.81 cm, upper back width 43.49 cm, table top depth 60 , 17cm, bottom table depth 70.43 cm, distance allowing mobility 93.64 cm, width of seat base 38.91 cm, distance between armrests 45.88 cm, height of seat back 60.93 cm . Conclusion. An ergonomic workspace was designed considering real anthropometric dimensions for a group of graduate students studying in teleworking conditions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The current graphical rhetoric of advertising includes everything from images of the globe borrowed from the US space program (for example, Hewlett-Packard Corp. computer systems), to pseudotribal renderings of a very different sort [for example, Minute Maid's (The Coca Cola Co.) Fruitopia]. The use of these images are part of what Goldman calls the economy of ‘commodity signs’, where produced meanings are linked to commodities through the medium of the print or broadcast advertisement. The increased incorporation of global images in Western advertising presents an opportunity to analyze the ideological underpinning of the ‘new global economy’. The sheer volume of purchased advertising space places these often confusing images before our eyes at an increasing pace, producing meanings which tend to obfuscate and fetishize discourse related to globalism. A decoding of specific advertisements with the use of the Hewlett-Packard Corporation as a case study, juxtaposed against the real spatial practices of the company will reveal ruptures, contradictions, and incoherence in advertising messages which appropriate the symbolic power of global images.

When the Oregon Food Bank began conducting Community Food Assessments in 2009, they enlisted graduate students in Oregon State University's (OSU) applied anthropology program to examine the impact of the university on food security in Benton County. We present the results from two food sustainability assessments undertaken at OSU from 2010-2014. We reflect on the process of engaging in community-led alternative food projects.

We study the dynamics of gains from sectoral versus geographic diversification and relate economic sources to changes in those gains. We estimate conditional correlations between returns on the US equity market and 16 equity markets and 10 local industries from other OECD countries and find that the average correlation across countries has increased in relation to that across industries. We also show that this process is accompanied by increased alignment in the industrial structures across countries and an increase in the average conditional correlation of aggregate production growth across countries relative to that of disaggregated production growth, especially among developed economies. Thus, the increased benefits of industry-level investing across developed markets are reflected in the real side of the global economy. However, country-level investing should remain the predominant asset allocation approach in emerging markets.

Despite globalization and the associated increased need for understanding of the real and financial processes at work in the global economy, since the 1950s there has been an ongoing significant and worldwide fall in the number and quality of undergraduates studying for an economics degree. Surprisingly, responses by the economics profession have included very little serious consideration of the factors underlying the actual and potential demand by business for their product. This paper explores and identifies the fundamental characteristics of the real world environment in which business activity takes place and which shape the kinds of decisions that are important to business. It is seen that the content and presentation of current economics curricula bear little relation to this environment even though economic analysis and insight have significant potential to make international business decision-making more profitable. Directions for the development of business economics curricula are suggested.

Changes in the global economy and cultural norms have given the opportunity for women to be employed and attain higher education. This study aims to explore the work-family-education balance of the married female graduate students. It examined how work-family-education affects the daily lives of married female graduate students and posed the question whether they manage to balance those three spheres, if so what are the ways they have developed to manage the difficulties emerging from each sphere. The sample comprised of 15 participants who were pursuing graduate degrees at a state university. The findings resulted from a qualitative research, using thematic analysis based on in-depth interviews indicated that the daily lives of the married female students are affected in several ways where they are placed in a shortage of time to meet with the demands in work, family and education, and they sacrifice their personal satisfaction to meet with the demands of the multiple roles.

While the book suffers from the occasional typographical error, Nottage concludes that the book is an excellent resource, and Professor Song has succeeded in his aim of offering the means to achieve a basic understanding of the Korean law and legal system as they operate in the real world.

The article presents the authors’ point of view on the results of the socio-economic development of Russia in 2018 and provides an analytical assessment of forecasts for 2019 and 2020 and estimates for the immediate prospects for the development of the country. The focus is on ensuring the implementation of the May (2018) Decree of the President of the Russian Federation. The authors analyzed the state and confirmed directions to overcome stagnation, first of all, by eliminating the lag in the technological level of production and ensuring the growth in labor productivity, enhancing business, investment and consumer activity, increasing the efficiency of capital investments as key factors affecting the growth in the real sector and the knowledge economy, including industrial production , agriculture, capital construction. The paper highlights the weak links in the current management system and proposes measures to overcome the existing structural crisis. There is a need for a socio-economic policy change that should be aimed at ensuring the health of a nation. The authors compared Russian and global trends in key development indicators, such as gross domestic product (GDP), industrial production, foreign trade.A comparative assessment of the 2020 and 2021 forecasts of the considered key macroeconomic indicators (including the real sector of the economy as a driver of socio-economic progress) is presented. The projected in 2019 and 2020 slowdown in the global economy, the expected fall in global trade and the expansion of trade wars and sanctions, as well as the existing import dependence may contribute to the growing negative trend in the Russian economy and lead to stagnation escalating into recession.
