The current study describes the length-weight relationships and condition factor of Bombay duck, Harpadon nehereus from landings of Fishery Ghat, Chittagong. A total of 300 individuals caught by various mesh size of gill nets by commercial fishers were investigated from April 2016 to June 2016. On the basis of hypothetical cube law W=aLb, the variance of ‘b’ for both total length and standard length were estimated statistically (0.0090 and 0.0088 respectively). Using the value of t=1.96 at the 95% confidence limits for ‘b’ were estimated as 2.218 to 2.590 for total length-weight relationship and for standard length-weight relationship, 1.985 to 2.353 which indicated allometric growth pattern for both cases. The monthly relative condition factor during three months of observation (0.978, 1.033, and 1.097) showed no notable difference due to spawning strain, spent condition and lower feeding rate right after peak spawning season.Res. Assessment of length-weight relationship (LWR), length-length relationship (LLR) and condition factor was carried out for Bangana dero in northeastern India, mainly from the Brahmaputra and Irrawaddy (Manipur) River system.  We report a value of ‘b’ 3.1269 and 3.1426 for LWR with respect to total length and standard length respectively, indicating positive allometric growth. The value of ‘b’ for LLR is less than one, which indicates that growth in total length is less with per unit increase in standard length.  The value of ‘K’ and ‘Kn’ is 0.91 and 0.72 depicts normal well being of fish in its habitat.

Tieshangang Bay in the Beibu Gulf, Guangxi of China, is a strategic location for pearl farming. Although water pollution has been reported in this bay but the general health of the pearl oyster, Pinctada fucata martensii, farmed there has never been assessed. The present study examined the condition of P. fucata martensii farmed in the Tieshangang Bay by analyzing its length-weight relationship (LWR) and relative condition factor (RCF). A total of 111 specimens were sampled for measuring their shell height and total weight for determining the LWR and RCF. The coefficient of correlation of the LWR was high (R2 = 0.93), significant at 0.01 level. Negative allometric growth (b = 2.7048) was observed. However, P. fucata martensii achieved the expected growth in terms of weight, as determined through the RCF (mean 1.13). Negative allometric growth is commonly reported on the wild Pinctada spp. collected from different regions. Apparently, the water pollution in the Tieshangang Bay did not compromise the general health of the pearl oyster cultured there. Nevertheless, further study on the farm’s surrounding water quality and plankton availability is necessary to investigate the interaction between the growth of the oyster and its culture environment. In conclusion, the P. fucata martensii farmed in the Tieshangang Bay was considered healthy and the bay is still suitable for pearl oyster farming.

Twenty specimens of triploid with weight and length ranging from 207-300g and 29-32cm; diploid 150-200g and 23-28cm Heterobranchus bidorsalis (Geoffroy St. Hilaire 1809) were subjected to morphometric and meristic characterization, length-weight relationship and condition factor evaluation. Triploid specimens had the higher values in all the parameters examined and were significantly different (P<0.005). Regression analysis of diploid and triploid show the ranges of values (K) of 0.802 1.453 and 0.838 0.906 respectively, for condition factor (k) while the relative condition factor values (Kn) ranged between 0.869 1.087 and 0.968 1.038 respectively. Weight increases directly as the total length increases for both diploid and triploid indicating isometric growth. The R2 in triploid was higher (96.8%) than in diploids (42.4%). In diploid progenies, the length by weight was significantly different (P<0.05) in triploid. Triploid progenies need no special adaptive environment or technique for rearing. Therefore, diploid and triploid progenies can be successfully cultured simultaneously under the same environmental condition.

The mean values of total length (75.89 ± 13.09 mm), standard length (54.98 ± 7.07 mm), fork length (60.86 ± 9.14 mm), head length (14.75 ± 2.05 mm), snout length (3.79 ± 0.61 mm), pre-dorsal length (31.53 ± 3.18 mm), height of body (20.2 ± 4.11 mm) and total weight (6.62 ± 3.55g) of combined sex of Puntius chola were calculated. Relationships between total length and standard length, fork length, head length, snout length and pre-dorsal length of Puntius chola were found to be linear, positive and highly significant. The length-weight relationship in male, female and combined sex were determined as Log W=-4.510+2.810 Log L, LogW=-4.204+2.685 Log L and Log W=4.465+2.808 Log L respectively. The mean values of condition factor from observed value (ko) of male, female and combined sex were determined as 1.36 ± 0.089, 1.599 ± 0.181 and 1.515 ± 0.192 respectively. The mean values of condition factor from calculated value (kc) of male, female and combined sex were found to be 1.362 ± 0.054, 1.6 ± 0.124 and 1.511 ± 0.075 respectively. The mean values of relative condition factor of male, female and combined sex were registered as 0.999 ± 0.044 , 0.999 ± 0.064 and 0.999 ± 0.112 respectively. Sex ratio was found to be 1:1. Tamblingan Lake is a volcanic lake located in the caldera of  Mount Lesung a rain-fed lake in a confined endorheic basin and there is no inflow or outflow. Nyalian is a type of fish from the Cyprinidae family that is  quite common compared to other fish in its class in Tamblingan Lake. Information on the growth and distribution of these fish parameters in Tamblingan Lake does not exist. This study aims to analyze and explain the growth patterns of  Barbodes binotatus, especially the length-weight relationship, condition factor, and their distribution in the waters of  Tamblingan Lake. The research was conducted in Tamblingan Lake from January to June 2019 using a modify gill nets with the mesh size  0.5; 1.0; 1.5; 2.0; 2.5; 3.0 in centimeter. The sampling done in five locations. The length-weight relationship analysis used the power regression. The fish sample found was 204 individuals during the study with a range of total length was 5.2 – 15.0 cm. The equation of length-weight relationship is W = 0.0051 L3.387. The value of b formed based on this equation is 3.387 with a positive allometric growth pattern.The condition factor values ranged from 0.587 to 1.246. Barbodes binotatus spread in the litoral area where there are many aquatic plants. This information of nyalian fish could use as the basis for fish resource management in Tamblingan Lake.

Aim: The study aimed to investigate the morphometric and meristic measurements, length-weight relationship and relative condition factor of Odonus niger landed along coastal Karnataka. Methodology: The morphometric and meristic measurements, length-weight relationship and relative condition factor (Kn) of O. niger was studied for a period of eight months from August 2019 to March 2020. The different morphometric characters were subjected to statistical analysis. The length-weight relationship was analyzed for both the sexes (female and male) and combined data. Monthly relative condition factor was analyzed for both the sexes and for different size group. Results: A comparison of different morphometric measurements exhibited good extent of correlation indicating good extent of interdependence of these characters. Four out of eight morphometric characters are environmentally controlled and suggested wide range of zoogeographical distribution of O. niger. The length-weight relationship is indicated as W = 0.046 L2.565, W = 0.044 L2.589 and W = 0.047 L2.561 with coefficient of determination (r2) of 0.910, 0.913 and 0.910 for male, female and combined sexes, respectively. The 'b' values of both the sexes (male and female) exhibited negative allometric growth (p<0.05) and appeared to be leaner. There was no significant (p<0.05) variation for relative condition factor (Kn) among the months and size groups. However, little higher values were observed during November and February. Interpretation: The study fills the knowledge gap and support for developing a suitable management system for this fish species.

In this study, length-weight (LWR) and length-length relationships (LLRs), relative condition factor (krel) and Fulton’s condition factor (k) of 235 Hemiculter leucisculus Basilewsky were determined between the periods of March 2012 to February 2013 in Sefidroud River, in the Southwestern Caspian Sea basin. The maximum recorded total length for males and females were 16.90 cm and 18.10 cm, respectively. The length-length relationships among the total length (TL), fork length (FL) and standard length (SL) for H. leucisculus were found to be highly significant (r2>0.968, p<0.001). The length-weight relationship shows the obtained b values for males, females and male-females were 2.549, 2.680 and 2.465 respectively, which indicated a negative allometric growth trend of this species. Also, relative condition factor (Krel) for males, females and male-females were 0.710, 0.622 and 0.743 respectively and Fulton’s condition factor (K) for males, females and male-females were 0.922, 0.842 and 0.843 respectively. The Peppered loach, Lepidocephalichthys guntea is the least concerned freshwater species, commonly found in India, Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. In West Bengal, it is popularly known as “Guntey” & it has commercial and food value. The current study aimed to the estimation of the length-weight relationship, condition, and relative condition factor (Kn) of the fish species Lepidocephalichthys guntea, habitats of Kangsabati river in the District West Midnapore, West Bengal, India. Total 161 numbers of species were collected between August 2019 to July 2020 and considered for examination. The fishes ranged from 5.4 to 10.7 cm in total length & 0.72 to 9.73 g in weight. The scatter diagram exhibits a linear relationship between the log length & log weight. The female species has a higher “b” value (b=3.452, P<0.05), which is greater than 3 which justifying a positive allometric growth. The parabolic equation among total length and weight of L. guntea is labeled as W= 0.008744991 L 2.7496 for males, W= 0.002153098 L 3.452 for females & W= 0.007575793 L 2.8155 for the combination of male and female species. Higher r2 (0.859, P<0.05) value in combined of male & female justifying a strong relationship between length and length. The mean condition(K) & relative condition factor (Kn) values were found to be the height in the male category with "K" value 0.654 & "Kn” value1.174 respectively indicating the well-being of the species. Although, this species does not sternly follow the cube law & shows a well status of health condition in their natural habitat.

The total 200 specimens of Catla catla and Cirrhinus mrigla were worked out during the two year study periods, from Dejla Dewada reservoir of Khargone district. Total length and body weight were estimated. The correlation coefficient (“r”) and ponder index (“Kn”) have also been computed. The result showed the growth of two IMC is satisfactory. The value of exponent ‘n’ in the equation W=cLn were 1.9416 and 1.4798 for Catla catla and Cirrhinus mrigla. The relative condition factor (“Kn”) remained greater than one fir both IMC indicating their good well being.

This research aimed to know the length-weight relationship, condition factor, and otolith shape of marble goby (Oxyeleotris marmorata Blkr.) at Sermo Reservoir Yogyakarta. In total 211 samples (95 males and 116 females) were collected using gillnet and folded trap (bubu). Each sample was observed for sex determination, and then measured its total length, body weight, and otoliths diameter. The data were analyzed to determine the length and weight distribution, length-weight relationship, condition factor, and length-otolith diameter relationship. The result showed that the total length of the male was ranged 12.0-38.2 cm and female was ranged 12.2-44.5 cm. The weight of the male was ranged 21.0-704.8 g and female was ranged 21.1-1593.7 g. Both male and female have positive allometric growth with the equation W=0.0056L3.2894 for male and W=0.0051L3.311 for female. Condition factor was ranged 0.787-1.313 for male and 0.800-1.379 for female, and the majority of fish has a good condition (Kn ≥0.95 more than 50%). The shape of otolith edge was sinuate surrounded with regular wave-like curves, the diameter was increased in line with increasing of total body length by an equation of Y=0.2335+0.0248X (r=0.938).
