Majority of the Muslim countries around the globe have been still experiencing a low level of development in various aspects of life compared to non-Muslim countries. Indonesia as the most populous Muslim country is not an exception. As far as Islam is concerned, this fact shows an irony for this religion strongly propels its adherents to pursue an excellent life (hayatan thayybah) both in worldly life and hereafter. Moreover in Islam, religion and development are very closely related each other where the level of development is dependent upon the implementation of religion in the society. The existence of Islam in a particular society should ideally lead such a society to be developed. This paper attempts to investigate the connection between Islam and development in South Kalimantan province, Indonesia. The province is selected for the study as it has long tradition of Islam, but it is reported to have a low level development. The objective of this study is to reveal the actual role of Islam on the society and to examine its connection to socioeconomic development using Maqasid al-Shari’ah framework. The survey method was employed for the data collection and Structural Equation Modeling used for the analysis. The findings showed that religiosity was positively related to various aspects of socioeconomic development as measured by the components of Maqasid al-Shari’ah.

The purpose of this study is to reveal employee competencies and compensation received by employees, as well as their implications for employee performance. This study was analyzed descriptively and verificatively through a survey method of 329 marketing managers in retail companies in Indonesia. The technique of data collection is done by indirect communication, through instruments in the form of questionnaires. Data were analyzed by weighted means score (WMS) and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results showed that employee competency was good, but not optimal, indicated by the indicator of the employee's need for the company and the employee's priority scale in the work was still weak. Furthermore, the compensation strategy is relatively good, indicated by indicators of salary/wages, incentives and cooperative facilities that are still weak. On the other hand, competencies and compensation strategies partially and simultaneously have positive and significant impact for employee performance which requires serious handling.

This study determines the impact of loneliness on creativity through a powerful and essential mediator of intrinsic motivation. The ability to motivate oneself leads towards the accomplishment of tasks and creative work. In recent years, workplace loneliness has become a more critical issue in both academic and practical debates. So, this study highlighted the significant cause of creativity which could help the organization to handle the problem of loneliness. The study assumes that when isolation at the workplace is high, employees are less approachable towards their tasks. So, their performance and creativity reduced. Because loneliness leads to stress, depression and anger, it reduces the creative skills of employees. To enhance creativity, lonely employees must be motivated to minimise their adverse outcomes. So, the research question arises: Does intrinsic motivation (IM) intervene in between the workplace loneliness (WL) and employees' creativity? This study is also significant because employees and employers' relations are the backbone of their respective organizations and directly affect the performance and growth of their respective organizations. A data collection survey method was held on employees of Banking Sector currently working in Vehari district of Pakistan. Sample space was the employees of Pakistani banks working on officer grades. There is a total of 124 bank branches in Vehari District of Pakistan. In these 124 branches, a total of 726 employees were working on managerial positions which were targeted for data collection. Simple random sampling technique was employed to collect the information from the respondents. Simple random sampling techniques were used to avoid from the busyness and undesirable unknown effects from the target population. Data were obtained from 400 banking officers. For data collection, validated and adapted questionnaires were used. Each variable of the survey was measured through a Likert scale of 5 points. For statistics evaluation, the statistical tools such as reliability of data, collinearity of data, the association of variable's, mediation and Regression were tested. For data reliability and validation, Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used while to measure the direct, indirect or mediation effect was measured through smart pls 3. Smart PLS3 is a landmark in latent variable modelling. It combines state of the art methods with an easy to use and in-built graphical user interface. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) is utilized to quantify the power of essential philosophies with spotted data. Results showed Workplace Loneliness has a definite and meaningful relationship with employee's creativity. Results also supported the intervening role of Intrinsic motivation (IM) between the relationship Workplace Loneliness (WL) on Employees’ creativity (EC). The study provides significant implications in literature and for practitioners who are interested in measuring the profound effect of loneliness on creativity. Hypotheses are tested through mediation and for mediation analysis through the most commonly used approach of baron and Kenny. From results, it is stated that workplace loneliness is predicting the intrinsic motivation and creativity. Intrinsic motivation is the mediator in the current study, which partially intermediates the relation of WL and EC. So, it can be stated that employees can only be creative and able to utilize their cognition abilities for creativity when they are socially isolated from other works. The findings authenticate all hypotheses and their correspondence between the workplace loneliness, creativity and intrinsic motivation. In a nutshell, intrinsic motivation is the crucial element for creativity because when employees are internally satisfied with their work, they become energized and motivated and perform their work in a creative way. Keywords employees creativity, intrinsic motivation, mediation analysis, structural equation modeling, workplace loneliness.

Forest ecosystem dynamics are driven by a complex array of simultaneous cause-and-effect relationships. Understanding this complex web requires specialized analytical techniques such as Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The SEM framework and implementation steps are outlined in this study, and we then demonstrate the technique by application to overstory-understory relationships in mature Douglas-fir forests in the northwestern USA. A SEM model was formulated with (1) a path model representing the effects of successively higher layers of vegetation on late-seral herbs through processes such as light attenuation and (2) a measurement model accounting for measurement errors. The fitted SEM model suggested a direct negative effect of light attenuation on late-seral herbs cover but a direct positive effect of northern aspect. Moreover, many processes have indirect effects mediated through midstory vegetation. SEM is recommended as a forest management tool for designing silvicultural treatments and systems for attaining complex arrays of management objectives.

The purpose of this study is to develop and validate a measurement model that evaluates the Brazilian hospital accreditation methodology (ONA), based on a multivariate model using structural equation modeling (SEM). The information used to develop the model was obtained from a questionnaire sent to all organizations accredited by the ONA methodology. A model was built based on the data obtained and tested through a structural equation modeling (SEM) technique using the LISREL® software (Scientific Software International, Inc., Skokie, IL, USA). Four different tests were performed: Initial, calibrated, simulated, and cross-validation models. By analyzing and validating the proposed measurement model, it can be verified that the selected factors satisfy the required criteria for the development of a structural model. The results show that leadership action is one of the most important factors in the process of health services accredited by ONA. Although, leadership, staff management, quality management, organizational culture, process orientation, and safety are strongly linked to the development of health organizations, and directly influence the accreditation process.

BUMDes is one of the income sources for the village managing assets, services, and other businesses for the village community's welfare. BUMDes empowers rural communities as an autonomous region in increasing productive efforts to alleviate poverty and unemployment. Therefore, the measurement of BUMDes's performance needs to be done through the level of local resources used and the implications of the results achieved. It was required to formulate appropriate development policies so that BUMDes have high competitiveness and fulfill their role in increasing the community's economic independence. This study was conducted in East Java BUMDes because East Java province is the third province with the largest number of BUMDes in Indonesia, so it was quite representative to represent the presence of BUMDes in Indonesia. This research used a quantitative approach carried out using the structural equation modeling-partial least square (SEM-PLS) method with the Resource-based View (RBV) approach to measure the effect of BUMDes resources used on its competitiveness. The analysis showed that structural capital had a positive effect on human capital and relational capital. Human capital had also been proven to have a positive effect on relational capital. The indicator that influenced competitive advantage was human capital. Training is needed to increase the human resources capacity, online marketing training and organizational reform, infrastructure, and professional management systems need to be done.
