The present study aims at explaining how to improve the students’ vocabulary mastery by using “Go Fish” game. The study belongs to classroom action research. The participants of the study are one hundred and twenty-two junior high school students of the seventh grade. To measure the improvement of students’ vocabulary mastery, the study used test. The finding showed that the mean score, 92,41 in the second Cycle had met the criteria of success. It means that the use of Go Fish game in teaching vocabulary can improve the students’ vocabulary mastery.

Kurikulum 2013 membutuhkan insersi pendidikan karakter dan integrasi teknologi. Penitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mengidentifikasi karakteristik dari multimedia interaktif berbasis karakter, 2)menjelaskan proses perancangan multimedia interaktif berbasis karakter, 3) menjelaskan produk multimedia interaktif berbasis karakter, dan 4) menjelaskan kualitas multimedia interaktif berbasis karakter. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian dan Pengembangan yang menggunakan pendekatan metode campuran, sequential exploratory design, dan Four-D model.

Abstract: The background of conducting this reseach began with the intention to develope an approprite English learning media for Junior High School students in the rural area by utilizing the traditional games. The seventh grade students of SMP N 1 Mendobarat, Bangka Regency academic year of 2018/2019 were involved as the population with 30 students as the samples taken by using purposive random sampling. In this Research and Development Research (R&D), the data were obtained from the distributed pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The procedures applied in this research were the one adopted from Lee and Owen (2004) with the following steps; analyzing students’ need by distributing the need analysis questionnaire, designing English learning media according to the data of need analysis, developing the first draft of the learning media, asking experts’ judgement, and validating it. Two kinds of test which were Alpha testing that involved material and content experts, and Beta testing that involved students were applied in the validation phase. Based on the finding of the research, it was found that the traditional games based English learning media was feasible to use by the seventh grade students of SMP N 1 Mendobarat, Bangka Regency. Therefore, this research leads to the recommendation to the students and teachers to consider traditional games as a feasible media to learn English.Key words: Traditional Game, Learning Media, English

The choice of sports uniforms should be tailored to the sports activities undertaken. For that reason, the selection of uniforms should be comfortable to use, absorb sweat, and have a circulation between clothing and skin, fit uniform size and at affordable price. The study was conducted to examine the measured application of ergonomic applications on sports uniforms that can make comfort in exercising found on junior high school students. The design of the study used pretest-posttest control group design involving 2 groups of subjects namely the Control Group and the Treatment Group of respectively 12 samples. The research was conducted at Kesuma Sari Junior High School, Sesetan, Denpasar, Bali. The measured data were age, height, body weight, ambient temperature, dress comfort questionnaire, skin temperature response and pulse recovery response. The findings of descriptive analysis showed significant differences (p <0.05) on the variables of comfort and surface temperature of the skin, no significant difference (p> 0.05) on the variable of pulse recovery. The mean value of the difference of comfort before and after exercising in the Control Group decreased by (-4.17 ± 4.668) and in the Treatment Group increased by (2.50 ± 3.477). The mean value of the skin temperature difference before and after exercising in the Control Group increased the temperature by (0.57 ° C ± 0.64) and in the Treatment Group there was a temperature increase of (0.01 ° C ± 0.65). The Mean decrease in the pulse recovery in the Control (107.03 ± 15.18) and the Treatment Groups (106.93 ± 16.37) was not much different so there is no influence between the two. It can be concluded that the ergonomic application of sport uniforms increased the comfort of exercise in the junior high school students of Kesuma sari, the ergonomics application of sport uniform may improve the skin temperature response in exercise on the junior high school students of Kesuma Sari, and the ergonomic application of sport uniform had no effect on the pulse recovery response in exercising on the students SMP Kesuma Sari.

This study concerned on improving students’ achievement in readaing comprehensionnarrative text through preview, question, read, reflect, recite, and review (PQ4R) technique.This study was limited on the second year junior high school students’ achievement inreading comprehension after teaching by applying preview,question, read, reflect, recite, andreview ( PQ4R).The objective of this study was to find out the improvement of students,achievement on reading comprehension through PQ4R technique.The subject of the studywas VIII-1 students of SMP N 4 Pagaran. The numbers of the students were 35. Thetechniques for data analysis were quantitative dataand qualitative data.In analyzing thequantitative data, the mean of the students’ score for the test I cycle I was 53.62, the meanscore of test II in cycle II was 73.28, the mean of test III in cycle II was 75.65. Theconclusion is that PQ4R can improve the students’ achievement in reading comprehensionnarrative text.

This study aims to: 1) describe the characteristics of deprivation of culture in the students of secondary school (SMP), which is in an environment characterized by cultural deprivation. 2) Know the difference in strength characteristics of cultural deprivation boys and girls, as well as the differences between classes. Participants of this study lived in the school environment and farm workers Banten, they are Mitra Persada junior high school students of class VII, VIII and IX amounting to 90 people and consists of 37 boys and 40 girls. Measuring instrument used is an instrument consisting of 30 items and has been tested for validity and reliability, the instrument was made based on the indicators of three (3) main aspects of deprivation of culture, namely: 1) Development Property, 2) Language, 3) Attitude. And measurement using a questionnaire using the Likert scale. From there Descriptive Test standard deviation is very large (more than 30% of the mean) showed a large variation or the existence of a considerable gap from the lowest score and the highest score. Based on the calculations above descriptive, known from the mean total score of social deprivation in the can that is 79.12 which is 64.85% of the total score of each item that is ideal 122. It can be concluded that the impact of deprivation Mitra Persada junior high school students is still relatively high. While the Mann-Whitney test concluded that there are significant differences in the characteristics of cultural deprivation boys and girls. And grade level provides a significant effect on cultural deprivation.

This study aims to produce a guide to improve teacher competency in guidance and counseling in developing social intelligence of seventh grade junior high school students, which consists of: (1) service syllabus and plan for implementing guidance and counseling services, (2) teacher guidance, (3) material services, and (4) evaluation guidelines. The procedure for developing a 5-step guide is: (1) analyzing the product to be developed, (2) developing the initial product, (3) expert validation and revision, (4) small-scale field testing and product revision, and (5) trial large scale field and final product. Based on the results of expert validation data analysis, small group test data and large group tests, as well as product revisions based on the results of data analysis that has been obtained, guidance and counseling service guides can be produced that have criteria for developing social intelligence of seventh grade junior high school students. This guide consists of (1) service syllabus and plan for implementing guidance and counseling services, (2) teacher guidance, (3) service material, and (4) evaluation guidelines. It is expected that the guidance and counseling teachers can use this guide in carrying out guidance and counseling services for the development of students' social intelligence, especially seventh grade junior high school students.

This study aims to determine the application of applied biology in everyday life by junior high school students in Tabanan District of Bali Province. The method used in this research is survey research method. Respondents who are the subject of this research are grade VIII students from 3 sample schools in Tabanan District. The three sample schools are Public Junior High School 2 Tabanan, Public Junior High School 1 Kerambitan, and Public Junior High School 2 Penebel. Data collection was done by distributing questionnaires to respondents. The questionnaire consists of 25 question items. The collected data is analyzed descriptively by presentation in the form of a complete description with visual data in the form of tables and graphs. Each question item is given a range of 0 to 5. The minimum score is 0, whereas the maximum score is 5. The total score of each student will be converted to a scale of 100. Next is determined the mean-value for each sample school. The mean grade of each sample school was then compared and classified. Categorization of the average value refers to the classification of absolute norms scale 5. Based on the results of research can be concluded that the application of applied biology by junior high school students in Tabanan District is still quite enough. This condition requires all of us who are work in the education sector to find solutions through further studies to a better level. Thus, the expectations of what students have learned in the field of biology are useful to them and their environment.
