The study discusses serviceability of pneumatic and hydraulic percussion machines within robotic drilling systems. The newly designed action charts of percussion machines allow varying flow data of the machines versus properties of the medium being treated, which enables technological adaptability of the machines. Simulation modeling of the operating cycle dynamics in ITI SimulationX made it possible to determine dynamic parameters of vibratory-percussive systems. The research findings prove designability of such machines.

Paper presents the developed algorithm for multi-carrier simultaneous vertical ionospheric sounding by OFDM signal with BPSK modulation of subcarriers. There is presented a mathematical model, numerical and simulation modeling with the use of USRP platform. Research findings proved the fundamental feasibility of using orthogonal subcarriers for simultaneous sounding of channels over a wide band.

Good sealing is a key requirement for modern efficient turbomachinery such as steam and gas turbines. A class of seals that promise better performance, compared to conventional labyrinth seals, are contacting filament seals such as brush, leaf, or finger seal. When new, these filament seals offer better performance; however, if poorly designed they wear excessively, resulting in leakages higher than a comparable labyrinth seal. This paper outlines a design methodology for selecting ideal contacting filament seal properties for a given operating cycle or set of operating cycles. Following this approach ensures the seal performs well, the seal retains its performance, and performance is retained if the operating cycle is altered. In the approach, the seals are described by four generic properties (stiffness, blow-down, cross-coupling, and build clearance), which are then used for a performance evaluation based on a number of test cycles. Once the ideal seal properties for a given operating cycle have been identified, a seal to match these can be designed. The approach is evaluated with a generic gas turbine cycle and recommendations for ideal contacting filament seal properties for this cycle are made.

This paper provides two demonstrations that highlight the importance of peripheral vision issues in system design. The first demonstration concerns the ability of the visual system to detect motion, while the second addresses the impact of reduction of visual field on the perception of optical flow data. Educators can use these demonstrations as the basis for discussions about the design implications for warning displays, attention gathering devices, optical flow, off-axis accidents, aging, attention, and night vision goggles. These demonstrations can be used at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Relevant research findings are also discussed, and references for further exploration of the topics are provided.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether the independent variables, namely Cash Flow Volatility, Sales Volatility, Debt Levels and Operating Cycles affect the dependent variable, namely Profit Persistence. The sampling technique uses Purposive Sampling where 60 samples are used. This study uses multiple linear regression analysis techniques, F test and t test to determine its effect. The results of this study indicate that partially Cash Flow Volatility and Debt Levels affect Profit Persistence while the other two variables Sales Volatility and Operating Cycle have no effect on Profit Persistence. And simultaneously the four Independent variables influence the Profit Persistence.

The article discusses the possibility of using energy storage devices in the form of pneumatic and mechanical springs for hydraulic percussion machines as part of robotic drilling systems. New design schemes are proposed that allow changing the energy parameters of the machine in accordance with the external operating conditions for the implementation of adaptive technological processes. Simulation modeling of the proposed schemes in the ITI SimulationX software package made it possible to determine the dynamic parameters and study the working cycle of the hydraulic hammer. The analysis of the results obtained showed the possibility of creating these types of machines, taking into account their advantages and disadvantages.

Objective: To detect random components in the locomotive time budget and assess the efficiency of locomotive operation organization at a testing ground of the railroad. To optimize the system parameters of maintenance and operation of 2ES5K series electric locomotives, according to the factual data of their operation. To compare availability indices before and after the transition to service maintenance. Methods: The methods of probability theory, mathematical statistics, estimation and process-based simulation modeling were applied. Results: A list of typical for locomotive states was revealed in the process of its operation. The matrix of locomotive transitions between its states was built. Theoretical distribution laws and their numerical characteristics were determined for the components of locomotive time budget. It was established, that the types of distribution laws and their numerical characteristics differ before and after the transition to service maintenance. A discrete-event simulation model was developed in the programming environment of AnyLogic, which takes into account the dynamics of the system under examination with initial data variations for the calculation of operation and performance coefficients of locomotives. Practical importance: The simulation of 50 000 000 minutes (about 100 years) duration operating cycle of the locomotive made it possible to conclude, that the transition to service maintenance raises the efficiency of locomotive operation by way of increasing operation and performance coefficients. The designed simulation model may be applied for the solution of other optimization problems, for instance the determination of the required amount of operational fleet locomotives for the specified amount of traffic, the selection of rational sections for regular locomotives and locomotive crews.

The research was conducted at the premises of the agricultural systems laboratory on the basis of research findings and analysis and generalization of modern scientific literature on a rational choice of adaptive technologies for cultivation of 10 crops (wheat, barley, rye, peas, millet, etc.) for different conditions in Russia. The most effective conditions for technologies application facilitating the efficient use of available resources were determined. Criteria, standards and requirements for the efficiency of the most important technological techniques of modern agricultural technologies were posed, as well as approaches to automation and an algorithm for their rational choice. The scheme and structure of the database of the agricultural producer support system for a rational choice of highly profitable adaptive technologies for leading grain crops cultivation were developed. The structure of the database of the decision support system is represented in three units: initial information, regulatory and reference information and calculation algorithms. The implementation of the developments into the production process opens up opportunities for the most efficient use of the existing soil and climate potential of the territories and material and technical resources in order to ensure highly profitable sustainable crops yields.

<span>This study investigates the relationship between the informativeness and the predictability of cash flow data. Predictability is defined as the ability of an accounting variable to predict future cash flows. Using a two-signal capital asset pricing model, this study predicts that the incremental informativeness of cash flows is an increasing function of its predictability and a decreasing function of the predictability of earnings. The empirical evidence is consistent with this prediction. This study contributes to the cash flow/earnings literature in that it identifies a context in which cash flow data possess significant incremental information content beyond that reflected in earnings. The research findings of this study also have methodological implications for other incremental information content studies. Specifically, it suggests that the informativeness of alternative information is an important factor in examining the incremental information of an accounting variable.</span>
