The employee education is indispensable for companies to improve productive efficiency and product quality. In general, the employee education is divided into two types, i.e., On-job trainings and Off-job ones, and Off-job trainings are divided into two types, i.e., compulsory educations and non-compulsory ones. Compulsory educations such as safety program and compliance education, are necessary to maintain daily production without any accidents. Although all employees of a department and a division gather in a classroom annually in conventional compulsory educations, daily e-learning education complements and strengthens conventional compulsory ones today because employees forget what they learn by annual learning. In past studies, the logit model is used for modeling the influence from education receipt to its memory condition and quantitative relationship between the effect of traffic safety education and the accident-related human-errors was clarified. The effectiveness of the safety driving educational program was indicated by Structural Equation Modelling method. In this paper, an annual compulsory which is complemented and strengthened by e-learning, is discussed. The expected cost rate of education is expressed using imperfect maintenance models and optimal policies which minimizes it is considered. Although we use the exponential function which denotes the occurrence probability of accidents which are caused by forgetting lessons, the actual occurrence probability which is approximated from the actual data would be a complicated one. For solving such complex optimization problems, metaheuristic methods can be applied.

t In response to the global COVID-19 situation, quarantine measures have been implemented at the educational institutions around the world. This paper aims to determine the antecedent factors predicting the university students’ satisfaction with e-learning systems during the COVID-19 situation. We used structural equation modelling (SEM) and evaluated a conceptual model on the basis of a sample of university students from Finland (n = 131) and South Korea (n = 114). The SEM results showed that the COVID-19 related factors, i.e., COVID19 awareness, perceived challenges during COVID-19 and the educational institutions’ preparedness indirectly influence the satisfaction with e-learning systems. Moreover, we found a statistically significant moderating effect of course design quality, and instructor’s teaching style between the COVID-19 related factors and the satisfaction with e-learning systems. The implications of these results for the management of e‐learning systems are discussed.

In this paper, the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is extent with two external stimulus namely e-learning characteristics and basic ICT (Information and Communication Technology) competencies. The purpose of this study are (1) finding relationship between e-learning characteristics and lecturers’ basic ICT competencies with the perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness of e-learning; and (2) determining the effect of e-learning characteristics and lecturer basic ICT competencies to the actual usage of e-learning. Research subjects are Bali State Polytechnic lecturers who have attended the elearning training. In this study, to collect the data sample, a non-random sampling technique is adopted. The data is collected by self-administered questionnaires and is analyzed using structural equation modeling. Basic ICT competencies of the Bali State Polytechnic lecturers are good, but the level of actual usage of e-learning is very low. Basic ICT competence shows no significant effect on the perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness of e-learning. The actual usage of e-learning also has low implications. E-learning characteristics show a significant effect on perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness of e-learning, which implies the change attitude and behavior in the use of elearning. Characteristics of e-learning become a determinant factor in the adoption and use of elearning. The findings will help lecturer a better understanding to the mechanism of e-learning adoption. The study recommends for polytechnic institutions to make a systematic effort to provide lecturers with training on how to use e-learning system effectively. A further research to identify other factors that may influence lecturers' attitudes toward the adoption of e-learning system is demanded following this research.

Among many changes influenced by the Internet, interactivity in spaces that promote relationships, entertainment, and businesses can be highlighted. Considering this, Second Life stands out because it is a tridimensional online environment which imitates human real social life. Despite social and commercial influences, Second Life suggests a new format for e-learning. Then, the question of how to explore the facets of an online learning environment may be answered by Flow Theory. Hence, the main objective of this paper is to analyze the most significant antecedent and subsequent relations of the Flow Experience in the Second Life’s educational environment, based on Novak, Hoffman, and Yung (2000). This research used tools from multivariate statistical analysis such as confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. The results confirmed the hypotheses, indicating that there is flow in Second Life’s e-learning environment, with interactive speed, exploratory behavior and telepresence as the most significant constructs detected.

As the E-Learning 2.0 system is a tool to help members manage knowledge in an effective way, this study attempts to verify the constructs of knowledge creation self-efficacy, subjective norms, perceived usefulness, organizational climate, attitudes toward knowledge sharing and the intention to engage in knowledge sharing. A sample of 284 participants from companies in China that have already implemented E-Learning 2.0 systems participated in this study. Structural equation modeling is conducted to test the research hypotheses. Research results show that (1) Knowledge creation self-efficacy, perceived usefulness and organizational climates are found to have positive effects on the intentions toward knowledge sharing in E-Learning 2.0 systems; (2) Meanwhile, system success factors of communication quality and service quality are suggested to influence the perceived usefulness of E-Learning 2.0 systems; (3) As we expected, the intentions toward knowledge sharing in E-Learning 2.0 have positive effects on knowledge-sharing behavior. Therefore, by highlighting the role of the organizational climate, the findings of current research provide practical insights for understanding how organizations should reinforce fairness, innovativeness and affiliation to create a climate of reciprocity.

Due to the rapid development of economics and society, China has witnessed increasing highway accidents, especially rear end collisions that mainly caused by over-speeding or too close following distance. Based on the vehicle dynamic analysis, therefore, a 3 step-based safety following space identification model according to Mazda vehicle is proposed to describe the brake performance and three driving states are taken into considering, including total following state, part following state, and three-kind extreme states. Then, a self-adaptive fuzzy reasoning model is used to control the traveling speed so as to adjust the traffic flow as smoothly as possible. The Matlab simulation results shows this proposed fuzzy control model helps minimize the occurrence probability of rear-end collision on highway and improve the overall traffic safety performance and management level.

The aims of this study are to probe into the motivational factors toward the usage of e-learning and social media among educational technology postgraduate students in the Faculty of Education, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. This study had involved 70 respondents via the means of a questionnaire. Four factors have been studied, named, the factor of technology, exposure, content and social influence. Via Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), this research uncovers that respondents usage of e-learning is being motivated by the factor of technology and content. The respondents use of social media was found to be motivated by the factor of technology and social influence. A strong positive relationship exists between the usage of e-learning and social media suggesting that social media can be manipulated as supporting material for e-learning. Yet, the finding may not be generalized to all Malaysian educational technology postgraduate students.
