Even though employer branding has its origins back to the 1990s, only after 2001 did it become a hot topic for human resource (HR) management. Ever since, a series of researchers and professionals have made an effort to understand how the image that job seekers have about employers is shaped and what benefits arise from this bilateral relationship. The Greek business environment delayed adoption of the most recently developed HR techniques, as a result of the economic crisis, and resulting decrease in working manpower, as well as budget reductions for HR. Only in the past few years have some of the leading companies in several business sectors started to implement employer branding as part of their corporate strategy. The current study aims to present how employer branding is actually under implementation in one of the most dynamic, national sectors—the telecommunication industry. Interviews in HR departments were conducted in order to collect (a) qualitative information regarding how employer branding is perceived and what results are expected from its implementation, as well as (b) quantitative data regarding its usefulness on attracting and choosing candidates, as well as evaluating existing employees. Results indicate that even though employer branding implementation is still an ongoing procedure, it has already started to transform HR departments’ operational logic.

Employees are major assets of any organization. The vigorous role they play towards a company’s accomplishment cannot be undervalued. As a result, preparing these unique resources through effective training becomes authoritative so as to use the job performance. Also position them to require on the challenges of the today’s competitive business environment. Though general research has been shown within the area of human research management, the similar cannot be said on employee training specifically because it concerns developing nations. The purpose of this study was to gauge the consequences of training on employee performance, using the telecommunication industry in Nepal. So as to grasp the study aim, four goals were developed and these focused particularly on identifying the training programs’ current within the industry, the target of the training offered, and therefore the methods employed and lastly the results of training and development on human resource performance. The study was supported two case studies of the biggest telecommunication companies operating in Nepal. A qualitative research approach of the facts collection was approved using a questionnaire including of 18 questions dispersed to 240 respondents. Supported this sample the results found, show that training features a clear effect on the performance of employees. The findings can prove useful to human resource managers, human resource policy decision makers, still as government and academic institutions.

Globalization changes the business environment, which demands change from every business organization involved, to succeed in the new environment. For that purpose, human resource management needs to be directed to the development of human capital, which assumes employees as assets, not costs, for the company. The implication is that management needs to recognize each of its employees in order to maximize their potential and manage it to be a competitive advantage. This is where performance management plays a very important role.

Sun pharmacy which was established in 1983 listed from 1994 has its upper hand in product development. Ranbaxy was incorporated in1973, and Daiichi Sankyo, a Japanese firm, got a controlling share from 2008. This amalgamation between Sun Pharmacy and Ranbaxy would getprofitable transaction for the former. The process of the coalition was a cloak and dagger affair until April 6, 2014. Before mergers and acquisitions,a company has to create an urgency call among the employees which will result in better understanding of the whole scenario. The aspects are abouthow financial motives and non-financial motives play a major role in mergers. Abstract The aim of this theoretical essay is to analyze the role of human resource (HR) management to achieve organizational sustainable competitive advantage (SCA), through the Natural Resource Based View (NRBV) perspective. We performed an exploratory-descriptive bibliographic research. We first provide key definitions to identify SCA, such as sustainability, sustainable development, and organizational sustainability. We then developed a theoretical framework integrating HR practices with NRBV strategies (pollution prevention, product stewardship, and sustainable development) in order to achieve SCA. As results, a set of propositions regarding HR management and sustainability are offered to be empirically analyzed in future research. The major contribution of this study is to offer an integrative framework of HR practices and NRBV strategies. This paper also adds value to managers by presenting ways to implement HR management for organizational sustainability achievement.

This article examines the key issues related to digital shifts in human resource management in the global economy. The purpose of the article is to identify the features and key trends in the introduction of digital technologies on the example of the BRICS countries. The study yielded a number of results. In the course of the research, the theoretical foundations of the digitalization of HR management are analyzed. The current situation and the contemporary level of human development in the BRICS countries is also noted. The features and problematic aspects of digital transformations in the human resource management system are outlined on the example of Russia, China and Brazil. In addition, the main digital technologies that are widely used in the countries under consideration are described.

Purpose: Competition is at the core of existence of firms. This determines the appropriateness of a firm’s activities that can contribute to its performance, such as innovations, a cohesive culture, or good implementation. Many firms have performed poorly in a competitive environemnt due to failure to analyse and strategise on the Porter’s Five Forces, regardless of the industry sector. Competitive strategy aims to establish a profitable and sustainable position against the forces that determine industry competition. The purpose of the study was to  investigate the influence of Porter’s Five Forces on competitive advantage in telecommunication industry in Kenya. The study aims at establishing the extent to which barriers to entry,  rivalry among established firms, bargaining power of buyers, bargaining power of suppliers and substitute products influence competitive advantage of telecommunication industry in Kenya. Methodology:The study adopted desktopresearch. Specifically, the paper identified documentary evidence in the form of already completed studies that focused on influence of porters five forces on competitive advantage both locally, regionally and globally. Findings:The study findings indicated that there was threat of new entrants in the teleommunication industry in kenya due to presence of various competing firms. In addition, although the suppliers in the industry had formed associations to negotiate prices with the input providers, the buyers bargaining power was high. The firms had to strategize on how to attract and retain the customers to avoid shifting from one company to the other. Findings on   bargaining power of buyers of mobile phone providers indicate that, firms have spent time and energy in ensuring their customers are well protected and incentivized so as to stick to their respective mobile networks. Similarly, findings on intensity of rivalry, indicate that to strategize and win in this highly competitive industry, product differentiation, process innovation, product innovation and technological innovation are some of the strategies the companies use to stay ahead.  Findings on threat of substitute products indicate that, the industry has a number of substitutes that can highly influence the profitability of these companies. The study concludes that porters five forces framework indeed influenced performance of telecommunication firms in Kenya. The study also concludes that the threat of new entrants applies to the mobile phone providers in the Kenyan Telecommunication industry due to the presence of various competing organizations. These organizations are offering similar products and services such as mobile money transfer services, handheld devices, airtime and accessories. Unique contribution to theory, practice and policy The study recommends that the telecommunication firms should keep monitoring their business environment so as to structure the appropriate strategies to keep up with competition and technological changes.
