In this paper, an e-Learning toolbox based on a set of fuzzy logic data mining techniques is presented. The toolbox is mainly based on the fuzzy inductive reasoning (FIR) methodology and two of its key extensions: (i) the linguistic rules extraction algorithm (LR-FIR), which extracts comprehensible and consistent sets of rules describing students’ learning behavior, and (ii) the causal relevance approach (CR-FIR), which allows to reduce uncertainty during a student’s performance prediction stage, and provides a relative weighting of the features involved in the evaluation process. In addition, the presented toolbox enables, in an incremental way, detecting and grouping students with respect to their learning behavior, with the main goal to timely detect failing students, and properly provide them with suitable and actionable feedback. The proposed toolbox has been applied to two different datasets gathered from two courses at the Latin American Institute for Educational Communication virtual campus. The introductory and didactic planning courses were analyzed using the proposed toolbox. The results obtained by the functionalities offered by the platform allow teachers to make decisions and carry out improvement actions in the current course, i.e., to monitor specific student clusters, to analyze possible changes in the different evaluable activities, or to reduce (to some extent) teacher workload.

Introduction. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder affecting approximately 5% of the world population, with symptoms that may persist into adulthood. Despite the findings on the clinical course of this disorder, information regarding comorbidity patterns, psychosocial and executive functioning in adult life in those with and without ADHD in Latin American samples is scarce. Objective. The aim of this study is to compare the comorbidity pattern, psychosocial, and executive functioning of adults with and without ADHD from a clinical sample. Method. One hundred and fifty-one patients between 20 and 45 years, with screened positively on ASRS-V1.1, were invited to continue an evaluation process as part of clinical research program (PROMETEO): 1) K-SADS-PL Mx interview, 2) MINI-Plus interview, ASRS-V1-1 18 item version, BRIEF self-reported questionnaire, SCQA-ADHD, and 3) Individual case review by clinical expert in ADHD. Results. Individuals in the ADHD group had a higher average of comorbid disorders (2.5 SD 1.1 vs. 1.3 SD 1.0 respectively, F = .439; t = -6.621; df = 149; p < .001), more likelihood of procrastinating (OR = 6.5; 95% CI[2.6, 16.2]; z = 4.0) and were more likely to present difficulties in both the behavior regulation index (OR = 104.9; 95% CI[31.8, 345.7]; z = 7.65) and the metacognitive index (OR = 94.79; 95% CI[29.10, 308.76]; z = 7.56) compared to the non-ADHD group, regardless of gender. Discussion and conclusions. Our results indicate that the ADHD adult group presented with more comorbidity, and worse psychosocial and executive functioning than non-ADHD adults.

This research was conducted to see the effectiveness of the implementation of online learning using e-learning madrasah and to find out the inhibiting and supporting factors of using e-learning applications as a learning medium. This research is a quantitative descriptive. The data were obtained by distributing questionnaires in google form which contained closed, semi-closed, and open questions, then the data were analyzed descriptively. Respondents of this research are students and teachers of MAN 1 Kota Malang who carries out learning using e-learning applications. The results of the observation informed that 80% of respondents claimed to be able to access and use e-learning madrasah. Online learning innovations using e-learning madrasah help students undergo learning during the pandemic. The implementation of online learning using e-learning madrasah is quite effective even there is ineffectiveness in the evaluation process. Teacher professionalism is needed in online learning using e-learning madrasah in order to create fun and meaningful learning. Improving the application is also still needed to make e-learning madrasah easier to use (user-friendly). The obstacles in online learning can be overcome by the collaboration between madrasah, parents, teachers, and students.

Abstract In order to satisfy the several training requests regarding the method of Episodes of Situated Learning by teachers of all levels, in the academic year 2018/2019, CREMIT (Catholic University) has developed an e-learning course. This paper aims to describe the training structure, designed according to the ADDIE instructional system model, focusing on the elements such as micro-learning, e-tivities and e-tutoring. The course was delivered in two editions (November–December 2018 and May–June 2019). The evaluation process highlights some relevant aspects: the high level of participants’ satisfaction, the moderate numbers of dropouts and the completely positive results of the assessment activities. The analysis of the gathered data allowed us to re-design the e-learning course.

Internet. EAD.   ABSTRACT Digital inclusion opens up numerous possibilities for integration , promotion of social welfare (e-inclusion) , further education (internet facing application software with great capacity for education) or distance learning (e-learning) and professional development . The constant speed and the necessity of a high-capacity multimedia transmission in the educational world will only be possible if there is an acessible price in broadband internet network. This is an extensive research of innovative technologies for broadband internet to implant in Brazilian´s cities where this kind of resource is not available, aiming a reduction in the final value to both users, residential and commercial. So, we intend to present ,to prepare and to select current information regarding deployments of EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Networks) and GPON technologies (Gigabyt-capable Passive Optical Networks) in optical access networks. Once there is a lack, in technical literature, of other projects analysing the technical and economial feasibility of GPON and EPON networks , which continue running until today , without domination or exclusion set. After analysis in previous papers, we updated and expanded information from recent deployments of these networks by comparing trends of these technologies applied in national and internacional levels. As a methodology for modeling the project, we created tables with hypothetical values based on the numbers of the equipment market , in order to have an overview of the investment and the total cost to implement this project, aiming at technical-economic comparison of EPON and GPON technologies . After the technical - economic analysis of implanting both , we conclude that due to investments and the costs in the deployment of the broadband network in Latin American countries, it is more convenient to use the equipment GPON, because the values and costs are more attractive . Besides, we have to look for new ways to cheapen the monthly payment of suppliers of broadband service, especially aiming zero cost to the institutions of classroom teaching and the lowest cost to the EAD(d-Learning).
