In this work, the covalent immobilization of two ruthenium(II) complexes, i.e., [RuIICl (bpea){(S)(-)(BINAP)}](BF4), 1, and [RuIICl(bpea)(DPPE)](BF4), 2, where BINAP = 2,2’-bis(diphenylphosphino)-1,1’-binaphthyl and DPPE = 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane, have been obtained (AlPO4-Sepiolite@1 and AlPO4-Sepiolite@2) by using a N-tridentate ligand N,N-bis-(2-pyridylmethyl)ethylamine (bpea), linked to an amorphous AlPO4-Sepiolite (20/80) inorganic support. This AlPO4-sepiolite support is able to immobilize the double amount of ruthenium complex (1.65%) than the amorphous AlPO4 (0.89%). Both heterogenized complexes have been assessed as catalysts in the liquid phase hydrogenation of several substrates with carbonyl and/or olefinic double bonds using methanol as solvent, attaining good catalytic activity and high enantioselectivity (99%). The highest Turn Over Number (TON) value (748.6) was obtained over the [RuII Cl (bpea)(DPPE)](BF4) 2 catalyst, although the [RuIICl(bpea){(S)(-)(BINAP)}](BF4) 1 exhibits better reusability. In fact, the [RuIICl(bpea){(S)(-)(BINAP)}](BF4) immobilized on AlPO4-Sepiolite maintained the activity throughout 14 successive runs. Furthermore, some findings on hydrogenation mechanisms of the α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds over Ru catalysts have been also obtained.

We have successfully prepared a novel passivation Ni/HY catalyst by the technologies of macerate-precipitatio.The catalysts are comprised of two contents: HY as carrier, Ni as active component, and we put it into the process of preparating aromatic amines. The nature of the catalysts was discussed based on the characterization results of BET , IR , SEM , XRD , TEM ,TPD , XPS and TPR . The catalytic hydrogenation technology for 2,4-dinitrobenzene in liquid phase can be an attractive and elegant routine for production of 2,4-tolylenediamine. The catalytic activity is evaluated at 2.2 MPa, 90 °C, 750r/min, solvent with reaction materials mass ratio of 60, catalyst with reaction materials mass ratio of 0.1. In the catalytic test, The experimental results over the catalyst showed that 2,4-dinitrobenzene and 2,4-tolylenediamine conversion and selective of 99.88% and 99.16% were obtained respectively. It is found that the catalyst is highly dispersion, stable, and reusable. No obvious deactivation of the catalyst was observed after repeated using twelve times.

A study on the liquid phase hydrogenation of cyclohexene over a series of Pd catalysts supported on various SiO2–AlPO4 systems (using a concentration of 2.47 M, with methanol as solvent, the initial hydrogen pressure is 5 bar and reaction temperature 300 K) is reported in this paper. The reaction has been studied as a standard in order to determine the most suitable preparation conditions for these catalystsWe have also studied the influence of other factors such as the kind of support, the nature of the metal precursor, the previous calcination of the precursor, the addition of alkaline hydroxides, and the catalyst reduction with various agents, on the catalytic activity of different Pd-supported systems

Granulated Pt/carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were found to have a much better catalytic activity in the liquid phase hydrogenation of nitrobenzene than Pt/activated carbon (AC). The granulated CNTs had much larger pores than the AC particles, which gave a faster mass transfer rate of H2 that helped produce aniline with high selectivity.

Fe/nano-AC has good catalytic activity for CS2 hydrolysis. The activity of the catalyst was affected by the amount of pores (5–10 nm). Metal species affected the oxidation of H2S. The solution pH and fluoride affected the generation of Fe3+.
