In recent years, people’s daily lives have become inseparable from a variety of electronic devices, especially mobile phones, which have undoubtedly become necessity in people’s daily lives. In this paper, we are looking for a reliable way to acquire visual quality of the display product so that we can improve the user’s experience with the display product. This paper proposes two major contributions: the first one is the establishment of a new subjective assessment database (DPQAD) of display products’ screen images. Specifically, we invited 57 inexperienced observers to rate 150 screen images showing the display product. At the same time, in order to improve the reliability of screen display quality score, we combined the single stimulation method with the stimulation comparison method to evaluate the newly created display products’ screen images database effectively. The second one is the development of a new no-reference image quality assessment (IQA) metric. For a given image of the display product, first our method extracts 27 features by analyzing the contrast, sharpness, brightness, etc., and then uses the regression module to obtain the visual quality score. Comprehensive experiments show that our method can evaluate natural scene images and screen content images at the same time. Moreover, compared with ten state-of-the-art IQA methods, our method shows obvious superiority on DPQAD.

Currently, tour guides can be implemented through mobile technologiessuch as smartphones and wearable devices. The penetrationof these technologies into people’s daily lives has made it possibleto implement more sophisticated and personalized services, revolutionizingthe tourism industry. However, the process of developingsuch applications is complex and involves the knowledge of variousexperts, such as programmers and designers. So this article devisedan authoring tool titled inTourMobile, which allows non-expertpeople to develop their mobile tour guides easily and intuitively.The usability of the designed tool was evaluated, in which it wasobserved its efficiency to assist in the development of mobile tourguides.

O discurso publicitário está presente no cotidiano das pessoas por meio de diversos tipos de mídia: anúncios na TV, impressos, outdoors ou nas redes sociais. Entre os recursos utilizados pela publicidade para convencer as pessoas sobre os produtos, serviços ou ideias que se deseja vender nos interessa estudar o uso da linguagem verbal, mais especificamente a maneira com que a publicidade constrói sentido por meio da linguagem. Assim, este artigo pretende analisar alguns enunciados de uma campanha publicitária realizada pela instituição financeira Citibank sob o olhar da teoria enunciativa desenvolvida por Oswald Ducrot. A campanha serve como  exemplo do jogo argumentativo que pode ser criado por meio da linguagem verbal, enredado em si mesmo, onde o locutor não fala sobre o mundo, mas fala para construir o mundo e explicitar a sua verdade por meio de argumentação linguística e não, necessariamente, retórica. Abstract: Advertising speech is present in people's daily lives through various types of media: TV ads, print ads, billboards, or social networks. Among the resources used by advertising to convince people about the products, services or ideas they want to sell we are interested in studying the use of verbal language, more specifically the way in which advertising builds meaning through language. Thus, this article intends to analyze some statements of an advertising campaign carried out by the financial institution Citibank under the view of the enunciative theory developed by Oswald Ducrot. The campaign is a great example of the game of argumentation that can be created through verbal language, entangled in itself, in which the speaker does not speak about the world, but speaks to build the world and to explain its truth through linguistic argumentation and not , necessarily, rhetoric.

  Abstract: The abstract of this paper is part of a PhD. Thesis, and for the purpose of publishing an extracted study, we presented Identity as an Exile Aftermath with Reference to some Kurdish novels as its title. The impacts of identity towards the details of exile has been shown in the AbdullAllah Sarajʼs WNGA , Farhad Peerbalʼs Hotel Awrupa, Ahmad Malaʼs Panahanda, Deedar Maseefiʼs Elshya and Rewas Ahmadʼs Zhin. This paper focused on the conditions of being exile, people's daily lives with those who are indigenous peoples and those who, just like them, are exiled .Further, it points out how they showed their identity as a way to defend themselves not to lose their identity among the foreign nations over there. They employed identity as a tool for their existence. For this purpose, those who have been exiled used their individual identity as well as their national identity.   Key words: Assimilation and Integration, Discrimination, Association, Self-Identity, National-Identity.

Throughout history the cinema has reflected a lot of disability forms. This has always been from the point of view of a non-disabled. Disabled people are an important social group whose image can be affected by cinema approach where their point of view is not predominant but rather isolated, in fact, the attention is centered on social stereotypes which have nothing to do with these people’s daily lives or their various possibilities. That’s why for teachers this is a basic tool in their goal to assess human diversity in its countless aspects. El cine a lo largo de su historia ha reflejado de múltiples formas la discapacidad, pero siempre lo ha hecho desde el punto de vista del no discapacitado. Las personas con discapacidad constituyen un importante colectivo social cuya imagen puede verse afectada por planteamientos cinematográficos donde no predomina su punto de vista, donde se le aísla o se insiste en estereotipos sociales que nada tienen que ver con la realidad diaria de estas personas y con sus múltiples posibilidades. Por eso, para los educadores supone este medio una herramienta básica en su tarea diaria de valorar la diversidad humana en sus múltiples facetas.

While cognitive computing-enabled smart computers are growing in people's daily lives, there are not many studies that explain how people interact and utilize these solutions, and the impact of these smart machines to people's performance to do things. In this article, a theoretical framework for boosting people's performance using cognitive assistants (CAs) was developed and explained using the data analysis from 32 interviews. The results show that people interaction with CAs enhance their levels of cognition and intelligence that help them to enhance their capabilities. Enhanced capabilities help people to enhance their performance.

We present a simple quality assessment index for stereoscopic images based on 3D gradient magnitude. To be more specific, we construct 3D volume from the stereoscopic images across different disparity spaces and calculate pointwise 3D gradient magnitude similarity (3D-GMS) along three horizontal, vertical, and viewpoint directions. Then, the quality score is obtained by averaging the 3D-GMS scores of all points in the 3D volume. Experimental results on four publicly available 3D image quality assessment databases demonstrate that, in comparison with the most related existing methods, the devised algorithm achieves high consistency alignment with subjective assessment.

Social-cognitive theories, such as the theory of planned behavior, posit intentions as proximal influences on physical activity (PA). This paper extends those theories by examining within-person variation in intentions and moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) as a function of the unfolding constraints in people’s daily lives (e.g., perceived time availability, fatigue, soreness, weather, overeating). College students (N = 63) completed a 14-day diary study over the Internet that rated daily motivation, contextual constraints, and MVPA. Key findings from multilevel analyses were that (1) between-person differences represented 46% and 33% of the variability in daily MVPA intentions and behavior, respectively; (2) attitudes, injunctive norms, self-efficacy, perceptions of limited time availability, and weekend status predicted daily changes in intention strength; and (3) daily changes in intentions, perceptions of limited time availability, and weekend status predicted day-to-day changes in MVPA. Embedding future motivation and PA research in the context of people’s daily lives will advance understanding of individual PA change processes.
