Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most universities around the world started to employ distance-learning tools. To cope with these emergency conditions, some universities in Jordan have developed “mobile learning platforms” as a new tool for distance teaching and learning for students. This experience in Jordan is still new and needs to be evaluated in order to identify its advantages and challenges. Therefore, this study aims to investigate students’ perceptions about mobile learning platforms as well as to identify the crucial factors that influence students’ use of mobile learning platforms. An online quantitative survey technique using Twitter was employed to collect the data. A two-staged ANN-SEM modelling technique was adopted to analyze the causal relationships among constructs in the research model. The results of the study indicate that content quality and service quality significantly influenced perceived usefulness of mobile learning platforms. In addition, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness significantly influenced behavioral intention to use mobile learning platforms. The study findings provide useful suggestions for decision makers, service providers, developers, and designers in the ministry of education as to how to assess and enhance mobile learning platform quality and understanding of multidimensional factors for effectively using mobile learning platforms.

This study aims to describe the perception of English teachers about the use of platforms in engaging students during online learning. The participants of this study consist of junior and senior high school teachers in some schools in Madura. Their perceptions were investigated in terms of three aspects: effects of using this learning platform on their perceived motivation, the perceived usefulness, and the perceived ease of use of platforms.  The study was conducted in the descriptive method. The data were collected by using a questionnaire and self-structured online interviews. The findings indicated that the teachers perceived that google classroom as the most used LMS and WhatsApp as the most preferred social media since both are user friendly and easy to use. Furthermore, Microsoft PowerPoint or Word and YouTube are the most preferred platform since they are motivating, useful and engaging during English online learning. It was found out that the English teachers are satisfied with the features of the use of these outstanding platforms in their online learning since they provide suitable features for their materials. Moreover, it was found that some teachers choose those platforms since they are more familiar for them to use. Besides, they had been introduced, acquired knowledge and practices on how to use the platform for supporting the learning process. Consequently, it should be training for the teacher about other outstanding learning platforms to be acknowledged and employed in their teaching and learning process.

This research explores the factors that influence students’ continuous usage intention regarding online learning platforms from the perspectives of social capital, perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use. The questionnaire survey method was used in the research to analyze the relationship between the research variables and verify the hypothesis based on data from 248 collected valid questionnaire responses. The following results were obtained: (1) “Social interaction ties” positively affect students’ continuous usage intention. (2) “Shared language” negatively affects students’ continuous usage intention. (3) “Shared vision” positively affects students’ continuous usage intention. (4) “Perceived usefulness” positively affects students’ continuous usage intention. (5) “Perceived ease of use” positively affects students’ continuous usage intention. According to the results, students believe in useful teaching that promotes knowledge and skills. The ease of use of learning tools is key to whether they can learn successfully. Paying attention to the interaction and communication between students, so that students have a shared goal and participate in teamwork, is something that teachers must pay attention to in the course of operation. The professional vocabulary of the teaching content and the way of announcing information should avoid using difficult terminology, which is also a point to which teachers need to pay attention.

The fear of vaccines has led to population rejection due to various reasons. Students have had their own inquiries towards the effectiveness of the vaccination, which leads to vaccination hesitancy. Vaccination hesitancy can affect students’ perception, hence, acceptance of e-learning platforms. Therefore, this research attempts to explore the post-acceptance of e-learning platforms based on a conceptual model that has various variables. Each variable contributes differently to the post-acceptance of the e-learning platform. The research investigates the moderating role of vaccination fear on the post-acceptance of e-learning platforms among students. Thus, the study aims at exploring students’ perceptions about their post-acceptance of e-learning platforms where vaccination fear functions as a moderator. The current study depends on an online questionnaire that is composed of 29 items. The total number of respondents is 630. The collected data was implemented to test the study model and the proposed constructs and hypotheses depending on the Smart PLS Software. Fear of vaccination has a significant impact on the acceptance of e-learning platforms, and it is a strong mediator in the conceptual model. The findings indicate a positive effect of the fear of vaccination as a mediator in the variables: perceived ease of use and usefulness, perceived daily routine, perceived critical mass and perceived self-efficiency. The implication gives a deep insight to take effective steps in reducing the level of fear of vaccination, supporting the vaccination confidence among educators, teachers and students who will, in turn, affect the society as a whole.

This study applied the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in investigating teachers and students’ perceptions towards integrating the D2L system to enhance EFL teaching and learning processes at the English language department, Majmaah University. Two close-ended questionnaires were designed to measure the participants’ perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitudes, and intentions to use D2L. To understand participants’ perceptions and the obstacles that may hinder their use of D2L, an interview with open-ended questions were conducted. Data from the questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS. Qualitative analysis of the interview data showed the frequencies and proportions of participants’ responses. The findings indicated that the D2L system is totally accepted by teachers and students. Few problems along with their suggested solutions were grouped, presented and discussed.

Purpose This paper aims to offer and examine a conceptual model of tourist innovativeness toward self-service technologies (SSTs) to confirm whether tourists prefer service delivery by SSTs over employees in an offline hospitality environment. Design/methodology/approach Tourists’ perceived usefulness (PU) of SSTs and need for interaction (NI) with service employees have been taken as crucial mediating variables to examine the effects of perceived ease of use and technology readiness index personality dimensions toward SST and employee-based service adoption. Findings Findings reveal that both “NI” and “PU” play significant roles in Technology Readiness and Acceptance Model (TRAM) when tourists select one of two service delivery options – SSTs and service employees. Research limitations/implications The foremost limitation of the study is its dependence on domestic tourist samples. However, such samples were chosen because tourists comprising these samples tend to use similar service delivery options more, in turn increasing their use of SSTs available in sample hotels. Practical implications The study gives a deeper understanding of TRAM with an extremely crucial mediating variable (NI) in an offline service context. It also provides useful insights to service providers and policy makers for developing new strategies and policies to enhance user experience. Social implications This study recommends the usage of numerous SSTs by tourists. Originality/value During extensive literature review carried out in this research, no study was found that proposed such an effective framework in an offline service context.

<p>Mobile payment has relative advantages compared to other payment methods, thus providing benefits for both consumers and the society. This study attempts to examine factors influencing consumer intention to use mobile payment services. Survey data are used to investigate the impact of consumers’ perceptions of mobile payment services and social influence on use intention. Empirical evidence from 489 Vietnamese consumers confirms a significant relationship between the factors and behavioral intention, and reveals that perceived trust is the strongest predictor of intention to use mobile payment services followed by perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment, perceived behavioral control, perceived usefulness and subjective norm, respectively. The results contribute to the evolving literature, and suggest that mobile payment service providers should particularly focus on building up consumer trust, and making their services clear, understandable and easy to use. Future research directions for extending this study are also discussed.</p>

<p>The mobile industry in recent years has been growing at a speedy pace where the use of cell phone is no longer limited to conventional usage like the voice communication, but has enriched the customer experiences with mobile internet services and other value added services. Along with the growing mobile industry, technology behind it is also changing accordingly. However, the user acceptance of technology depends on various factors that lead to either user acceptance or rejection. This study thus aims to identify the major determining factors that influence the user to use the 3G mobile internet and examines the interrelation among the determinants along with effect of the demographic variable limited to Kathmandu Valley users. The conceptual framework of this study is based on the extended version of Davis (1989)’s technology acceptance model using variables social influence, price perception, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude to use and behavior intention. The primary survey is conducted using a set of questionnaire, which produced 180 valid responses from the mobile users in Kathmandu Valley. The reliability of the data from questionnaire is verified with factor analysis and Cronbach’s alpha. The result shows that social influence has significant influence on perceived ease of use while it has no significant influence on perceived usefulness. Price perception, on the other hand, influences the perceived usefulness. Similarly, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use influence the attitude of use, which finally influences the behavioral intention. Along with this, social influence is also found to be the extended factors that can influence the attitude of the users, which in turn affects the behavioral intention. Demographic variables, however in this study, have shown no significant influence on the behavioral intentions. On the whole, the usage of 3G mobile internet service is not seen to be satisfying from the study. The major reasons as surveyed from the users themselves for this lower utilization seems to be higher data costs, presence of cheaper alternatives for internet like Wi-Fi internet, quick drainage of battery and slow mobile internet service provided by the mobile service providers. Thus, for mobile service providers, internet service providers are their direct competitors for 3G mobile internet services. This study used aspects of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to predict instructor acceptance and adoption of a tablet computer for mobile learning in a Ghanaian University. Following the distribution of a customized tablet PC (known as Campus Companion) to all instructors of the institution, and an expectation that they will use these devices to support and facilitate mobile learning, data on instructor perceptions, attitudes, and behavioral intention to use the technology were gathered and analyzed. Thirty-eight (38) instructors participated in the study. Findings show that instructors' intentions to use the tablet PC for mobile learning are very low, and are significantly influenced by their perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and attitude towards the device. Implications of these findings for practice and further research are discussed within the context of the adoption of m-learning within the Ghanaian higher education context in particular and the developing world in general.

As a new teaching medium, virtual reality technology has been widely used in the field of education due to the characteristics of immersiveness, imagination, and interactivity, thereby changing the previous teaching concepts and teaching models. Mobile learning has developed rapidly due to its characteristics of mobility, personalization, fragmentation, and hypermedia. Based on the characteristics of the two, we innovatively propose the application of virtual reality technology to the development and construction of mobile learning platforms. This article analyzes the application advantages of virtual reality technology in mobile learning first; proposes design ideas, development tools, architecture design, functional design, and development process of the virtual reality-based mobile learning platform second; displays some of the virtual reality-based mobile learning platforms that have been completed subsequently. Various teaching practice activities have been carried out based on these platforms and achieved good results.

Higher education institutions are faced with the complex challenges of serving increased enrollment levels within tight budgets. This challenge is prompting many universities to explore new approaches including the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle for delivering courses to help extend teaching and learning beyond the classroom. Using Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as an underlying theory, this study investigated students' perceived usefulness as well as the perceived ease of use of Moodle in the University of Education, Winneba in Ghana. The study also used multiple linear regression to determine if these factors have any impact on the rate at which students use Moodle. Data was collected from a random sample of 229 students from the Faculty of Science Education using a questionnaire. The analysis revealed that students' perceived usefulness of Moodle and perceived challenges in using Moodle combined contributes significantly to students' rate of Moodle use.
