Induction heating is one of the most effective methods of energy conversion from the electrical to thermal form, used in diverse industrial processes. In this paper the resonance generators for induction heating are considered for which the equivalent load resistance has a strong impact on the ability of the system to use optimally the potentially available power. The equivalent load resistance varies, depending on the type of induction heating system (IHS) and during the heating process itself. This paper presents an induction heat generator in which an L-LC resonance system (called the LLC system) plays an active role in energy matching. The LLC resonance system is analyzed from the point of view of both the functional dependencies describing the influence of frequency on the load resistance transformation, and the impact of the LLC setup on the sensitivity of the generator to changes in the charge resistance caused by heating. The procedure for initial selection of the resonance system parameters is presented. We also consider the possibility of automatic correction by the generator of the LLC system parameters, in order to limit the effect of changes in the IHS parameters on the degree of source–load energy matching. We describe cascade power control algorithms based on the use of Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) systems, which enable the optimal control of energy matching. Our study is based on theoretical considerations, numerical simulations, and experimental verification using a 30 kW model.

Introduction: Social support has been recognized as having a strong impact on health and well-being and has also been shown to have beneficial effects in a wide variety of disease states. Social support from friends, family or peers can augment the care offered in traditional healthcare settings by providing advice, encouragement and education However, there is limited research on the impact of peer-led support programs among women living with cardiovascular disease (CVD). Objective: To examine the relationship between patient activation and measures of social support among women who attended a WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease peer-led support program in their local community. We hypothesized that high levels of social support would be associated with high levels of patient activation in this study population. Methods: Participants were recruited from 50 national WomenHeart Support Network groups. A 70 item, online survey was administered and the main analytic sample for this study included 157 women. Multivariable logistic regression was used to examine the association between patient activation levels (Lower activation levels: 1,2 vs higher activation levels: 3,4) and social support scores (range: lowest 8 to highest 34), adjusting for age. Results: Study participants reported high levels of social support and patient activation. Those who were at or above the median for the social support measures (indicating high levels of social support) had greater odds of high levels of patient activation (levels 3 or 4) compared to individuals reporting low levels of social support (OR 2.23 95%CI1.04, 4.76, p = 0.012). Conclusions: Results of our survey demonstrate that this group of women with coronary heart disease who regularly attended a peer-led support group and indicated a high level of social support report taking a more active role in self-management behaviors.

Multi-material solutions offer benefits, as they, in contrary to conventional monolithic parts, are customised hybrid components with properties that optimally fit the application locally. Adapted components offer the possibility to use high strength material in areas where external loads require it and substitute them by lightweight material in the other areas. The presented study describes the manufacturing of a hybrid shaft along the process chain Tailored Forming, which uses serial pre-joined semi-finished products in the forming stage. Subject of this study is the numerical modelling of the heating process by induction heating of a hybrid semi-finished product and the resulting material distribution after the impact extrusion process. For this endeavour, a numerical model of an inhomogeneous induction heating process was developed. The main challenge is to determine the boundary conditions such as current intensity acting in the induction coil and the electromagnetic properties of the used material. The current intensity was measured by a Rogowski coil during experimental heating tests. The relative magnetic permeability was modelled as a function of temperature using the method of Zedler. The results show the importance of using a relative magnetic permeability as a function of temperature to guarantee a high quality of the numerical model. Subsequently, the model was applied to the heating of the hybrid semi-finished product consisting of a steel and aluminium alloy. By using inductive heating and thus a resulting inhomogeneous temperature field, good agreement of the material distribution between experiment and simulation could be achieved after the forming process.

The BRICS countries have a historical aspiration for global leadership, especially Russia and China, and other countries trying to have a position in the pyramid of international powers in the twenty-first century, especially Brazil, India and South Africa, they worked to unify their efforts, in order to achieve integration in the strategic action, activate its role in International affairs, ending American domination , and restructuring an international system that have an active role in its interactions.       The research hypothesis is based on the idea that the BRICS group, despite the nature of its economic composition and its long-term goals, but its political influence as a bloc, is greater than the proportion of its economic influence in restructuring the new international order. The BRICS group has the capabilities to reshape the international order, but disputes among some of its members represent a challenge to its future work. Its goals will not be achieved without teamwork. Third world countries, especially those that reject unipolarism, have regarded one of the pillars supporting multi-polarity, aiming of giving them freedom of movement in international relations. The ultimate goal of the BRICS is a political nature, as economic mechanisms are used to achieve political goals.

© 2019 Hogrefe Publishing. Personality traits have been long recognized to have a strong impact on human decision-making. In this study, a sample of 314 participants took part in an online game to investigate the impact of psychopathic traits on cooperative behavior in an iterated Prisoner's dilemma game. We found that disinhibition decreased the maintenance of cooperation in successive plays, but had no effect on moving toward cooperation after a previous defection or on the overall level of cooperation over rounds. Furthermore, our results underline the crucial importance of a good model selection procedure, showing how a poor choice of statistical model can provide misleading results.

The tourism sector is experiencing numerous challenges as a result of the global economic crisis. After a significant contraction in 2009, tourism rebounded strongly  in  2010  and  in  2011  the  international  tourist  arrivals  and  receipts  are projected to increase substantially. The Tourism industry is expected to show a sustained recovery in 2012. The crisis has particularly strong impact and slightly negative consequences in Bangladesh. The country is undergoing a political crisis, as well, and it seems that the forthcoming elections may be the only solution for the restoration of stability and social peace.  In addition, tourism can be the driving force behind Bangladesh economic recovery. However, for its achievement the country’s policy makers should take several measures towards restructuring and improving the sector. These measures include: enhancement of alternative forms of tourism; environmental protection; creation of quality infrastructure; and boost of competitiveness through a tourism product that offers value for money

The active role of biomaterials in the regeneration of tissues and their ability to modulate the behavior of stem cells in terms of their differentiation is highly advantageous. Here, polypyrrole, as a representantive of electro-conducting materials, is found to modulate the behavior of embryonic stem cells. Concretely, the aqueous extracts of polypyrrole induce neurogenesis within embryonic bodies formed from embryonic stem cells. This finding ledto an effort to determine the physiological cascade which is responsible for this effect. The polypyrrole modulates signaling pathways of Akt and ERK kinase through their phosphorylation. These effects are related to the presence of low-molecular-weight compounds present in aqueous polypyrrole extracts, determined by mass spectroscopy. The results show that consequences related to the modulation of stem cell differentiation must also be taken into account when polypyrrole is considered as a biomaterial.
