This paper presents a methodology to maximize the self-sufficiency or cost-effectiveness of grid-connected prosumers by optimizing the sizes of photovoltaic (PV) systems and electrochemical batteries. In the optimal sizing procedure, a limitation on the maximum injection in the grid can affect the energy flows, the economic effectiveness of the investments, and thus the sizing results. After the explanation of the procedure, a case study is presented, and a parametric analysis of the effect of possible injection limits is shown. The procedure is applied to size plants for an Italian domestic prosumer, whose electric load profile was measured for a year. A software program developed using the proposed methodology is also briefly presented. It is used for both research and educational purposes, both in laboratory classes and in remote lessons.

Explores the perceptions of faculty members towards Institutional Repository (named as Dyuthi) of Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kerala, India. It also discussed the content recruitment nature of faculty members in an institutional repository (IR). In order to carry out the study, a voluntary survey was conducted among faculty members. They showed high awareness and satisfaction about IR, and the highly significant relationship was observed between awareness and satisfaction. However, their self-archiving practice in Dyuthi was low, and they were not at all unfamiliar with the self-archiving practice outside Dyuthi. Faculty members tended to adopt a traditional preservation strategy to store their works, and they have supported the framing of a policy to deposit their scientific works in IR. This study concludes that to achieve the content growth, self-archiving must be encouraged, and faculty members are capable of self-archiving in IR. Dyuthi could elevate itself as a social medium by implementing the facilities such as commenting add-ons, request full-text copy add-ons, controlled vocabulary add-ons, the web of communication add-ons, restricted access, and storage facility similar to Google drive. Dyuthi’s workflow should also be altered by giving more importance to preservation.

Abstract The self-anchored rating scale (SARS) is a technique that augments collaboration between Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) interventionists, their clients, and their clients' support networks. SARS is a technique used in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, a branch of systemic family counseling. It has been applied to treating speech and language disorders across the life span, and recent case studies show it has promise for promoting adoption and long-term use of high and low tech AAC. I will describe 2 key principles of solution-focused therapy and present 7 steps in the SARS process that illustrate how clinicians can use the SARS to involve a person with aphasia and his or her family in all aspects of the therapeutic process. I will use a case study to illustrate the SARS process and present outcomes for one individual living with aphasia.

<p>The study explores the relation of narcissism to political orientation and their association with basic human values, using an undergraduate sample from Turkey. Leftwing orientation is weakly and negatively correlated with narcissism, and specifically with its self-sufficiency dimension. Leftwing is correlated positively with universalism and negatively with tradition. Narcissism is positively correlated with the self-enhancement and openness to change dimensions and negatively correlated with the self-transcendence and conservatism dimensions of the basic values. Hierarchical regression results indicate that the value tradition is a stronger predictor of political orientation than narcissism. In multinomial logistic regression, for narcissism, statistical significance appears for only extreme right compared to moderate left political positions. We did not find power-hunger to be related to political orientation. We did not find pro-sociality to be related to familial-religious customs. We did not find any sex difference for mean narcissism scores. However, females are more leftwing oriented than males and they report more eagerness to strive for justice for others. Striving for justice for others is negatively correlated with the value power; positively correlated with leftwing orientation and striving for justice for self; and uncorrelated with narcissism. Males have higher mean scores for the value tradition and females have higher mean scores for the value security.</p>
