Infected people are isolated to minimize the spread of pandemic diseases. Therefore, the factors related to self-isolation (SI) should not be neglected, and it is important to investigate the factors leading the infected (or possibly infected) people to choose to self-isolate. In this paper, we tried to show that the theory of planned behavior provides a useful conceptual framework for SI when facing a pandemic risk, and a regression method with Chinese provincial (Guangdong Province) data was applied to investigate how attitude (ATT), subjective norms (SN), and perceived behavioral control (PBC) influence SI when facing a pandemic emergency. The results and the robustness tests confirm that ATT, SN, and PBC have a significant positive influence on SI when facing a pandemic emergency. ATT plays the most important role, followed by SN and then PBC. Based on the factors of SI, we found, through theoretical and empirical analyses, at least three important aspects that local governments need to consider to encourage citizens to self-isolate when facing a pandemic.

Poverty is on the increase in Africa in general and specifically in Nigeria despite the numerous poverty alleviation programs of successive governments. Lamentably, most poverty alleviation initiatives have failed to produce meaningful outcomes despite billions of Naira committed to them. Nigerians and Nigeria still ranked among the poorest, with the poverty rate rising since the 1980s. Base on the theory of planned behavior, this study examines the influences of attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, Religiosity, and available information on the intention to establish Waqf in Oyo state, southwestern Nigeria. Survey data from 218 Islamic scholars revealed that all the variables, as mentioned earlier, except available data, have a significant positive influence on the intention to establish Waqf according to the respondents.  Based on the results, the study made relevant policy recommendations regarding how authority can explore Waqf's institution as a formidable alternative to government-driven poverty alleviation programs in the interest of the Nigerian Muslims and the Nigerian Muslims, the larger population cutting across different religions.

Entrepreneurship is the potential for development, both in number and quality of entrepreneurship itself. Indonesia faces the reality that the number of entrepreneurs is still small, at around 1,65% (Source: Berita Kementrian Koperasi dan Usaha Kecil dan Menengah, March 2015)), whereas it takes at least 2% of entrepreneurs to enable a prosperous country. This research was conducted by incorporating three factors that drive an action (Theory of Planned Behavior) which implemented as a supporting factor of entrepreneurship action; attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. The type of method used a quantitative analysis. Data was collected through questionnaires and documentation. Analysis technique used is multiple linear regression and using Likert scale for measurement. The population was a student of Agribusiness UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta from 2008, 2009, 2010,2011, and 2012. The sampling is using proportionate stratified random sampling. There are 80 respondents. This research has R square = 0,412. The results of the study showed: (1) attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control is influencing simultaneously to encourage students for being an entrepreneur (p < 0,05) (2) There was a positive influence (partially) in each factors: attitude (p < 0,05), subjective norms (p < 0,05), and perceived behavioral control (p < 0,05) to affect students in entrepreneurship.

The circular economy can contribute to the eco-efficient use of resources. Firms can obtain relevant benefits if they implement a circular economy. In Peru, the circular economy would create benefits, but it is not fully clear what factors explain the acceptance of firms of implementing a circular economy. Following the theory of planned behavior, the current research assesses the influence of attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral norms, intentions, and pressures on behaviors towards the circular economy. A total of 71 medium-size firms based in Peru participated in an online survey. Six questions were focused on general information, and forty-seven questions evaluated the circular economy behavior of firms. A partial least square structural equation modeling technical analysis was used. It was found that attitudes (0.144), subjective norms (0.133), and perceived behavioral control (0.578) had a positive influence on intentions; also, perceived behavioral control (0.461) had a positive influence on behaviors towards the circular economy. Finally, pressures had a positive influence (0.162) on behaviors towards the circular economy. The model explained 64.3% of the behaviors towards the circular economy. The outcomes of the bootstrapping test were used to evaluate if the path coefficients are significant. This study showed that attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral norms, intentions, and pressures explained circular economy behaviors. This information can help firms develop strategies to move forward a circular economy and provide governments information about the current situation of circular economy implementation to generate new norms and strategies for more implementation of circular economy measures in enterprises. The novelty is based on using the PLS-SEM technique.

This study specifically discusses the relationships between consumers’ environmental concern, attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and their behavioral intention toward “green” restaurant. Such a study is important because behavioral intentions towards “green” practice in the restaurant industry is still an under-explored topic in the literature, despite the “green” trend. This study adopted Theory of Planned Behavior as the theoretical framework with additional environmental concern construct as antecedent. The findings from this research illustrate that customer’s environmental concern has a positive influence with behavioral intention toward “green” restaurant especially indirectly through attitude and perceived behavioral control. This study recommends that this topic of research needs to be explored more to understand the “green” restaurant customers and to develop marketing strategies to promote “green” restaurant in Indonesia.

This study aims to show that attitude to comply, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control had affect the intent to obey. Furthermore, perceived behavioral control and intention to abide affect on PBB tax compliance refers to the Theory of Planned Behavior. This study also adds a variable: the sanctions, that refers to Attribution Theory which predicted to affect PBB taxpayer compliance behavior. The sample was PBB taxpayers who have tax object in Probolinggo. The results showed that the attitude to obey had positive influence on the intention to comply, subjective norms had negatively affected on the intention to obey and perceived behavioral control had positive influence on the intention to obey. Moreover, these results also prove empirically that the intention to obey and perceived behavioral control had positive effect on PBB tax compliance, while the sanctions have no effect on PBB tax compliance. In addition, the intention to obey have the effect of partial mediation on relationships perceived behavioral control and PBB taxpayer compliance.

We proposed and tested an extended model based on the theory of planned behavior to probe the mechanisms driving the purchase of counterfeit sporting goods (CSGs). Consumers (N = 333) in Taiwan completed surveys, and the results showed that subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and consumers' attitudes had a positive influence on purchase intention. In terms of extended variables, the results revealed no relationship between price-quality inference and consumers' attitudes, whereas risk averseness had a negative impact on consumers' attitudes. Differences were also found between the Internet and street vendors as purchase channels. These findings open a new direction for understanding CSGs purchasing behavior.
