This optimization is an optimization case that organizes all possible and feasible solutions in discrete form. One form of combinatorial optimization that can be used as material in testing a method is the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP). In this study, the bat algorithm will be used to find the optimum value in TSP. Utilization of the Metaheuristic Algorithm through the concept of the Bat Algorithm is able to provide optimal results in searching for the shortest distance in the case of TSP. Based on trials conducted using data on the location of student street vendors, the Bat Algortima is able to obtain the global minimum or the shortest distance when compared to the nearest neighbor method, Hungarian method, branch and bound method.

With the rapid development of China’s economy, the society has entered the era of big data intelligence, leading to tremendous changes in people’s shopping methods. From the original way of shopping via traditional channels from street vendors and farmer’s markets to shopping via WeChat, Douyin, Taobao, Pinduoduo, and other digital e-commerce channels, online shopping has become the norm and an integral part of people’s life in the post-pandemic era. The shift from traditional offline shopping to online shopping calls for a change in design thinking, integrating food packaging design, consumer needs, and brand stories, reflecting individual characters and regional cultures, as well as incorporating traditional Chinese style and cultural elements.

Currently, the urban areas become more congested; numerous health concerns such as obesity are becoming more prevalent among urban dwellers followed by lack of exercise. With this situation, provision of adequate areas for exercising to the satisfaction of all is critical with limited space in urban areas. Hence, an ideal solution emerges as ‘walking ways’ where a strip of land is only needed. The interest of walking ways is also developed in Sri Lanka very recently. However, there is no evidence on a research to identify the attributes, should developed along with the walkway to increase the attraction of the users. The main aim of this study is to examine the public perception on attributes of walking avenues in urban areas of Sri Lanka. Data was acquired by a personal-administered questionnaire from a convenience sample of 150 walking trail users on three settings. The descriptive statistics, univariate analysis, hoc multiple comparisons and homogeneous subsets technique were used as methodological analysis. The findings disclose ‘safety’ as the preferred attribute while shading and natural settings significant. An income variation presents that user with above the income level of LKR 65,000 preferred cafeterias providing herbal drinks while the users with below that income level are less interest with the attributes of changing rooms and street vendors. This article fills the gap of identifying user perceptions particular to a novel design concept of walking trail in Sri Lanka with interesting attributes getting more benefits.

In South Africa, 15 percent of informal economy workers are street vendors. The organization of occupational health services in the country is fragmented and does not cover informal workers. Conditions of work make informal workers extremely vulnerable to human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and tuberculosis (TB) exposure. In this study, a qualitative risk assessment was conducted among street vendors, followed by focus group discussions. Interpretation of data was according to major themes extracted from discussions. Workers are exposed to several occupational health hazards identified during the risk assessment. There is a lack of workplace HIV and TB services and overall poor access to healthcare. Street vendors, especially females, are at higher risk of HIV, due to gender inequalities. Comprehensive gender-sensitive training on occupational health and safety, HIV, and TB should be prioritized. To reach Universal Health Coverage and achieve the Sustainable Developmental Goals’ targets, the health system should improve services for informal economy workers.
